  1. Aside from the required equipment, I keep a small tarp (5'x8'), a knife, twine, matches, a flaslight, and a small first aid kit. You never know when you might decide it's a beautiful night (whether you choose to or are forced to) to camp out lakeside!
  2. Check out this guide! https://www.another site/blog/fishing-line-guide/
  3. I would go with the 90...if it was the only option I had! The others have spoken my thoughts!
  4. Deep wood is my go to. It seems to always produce for me!
  5. Travis, you have a valid point. I was allowed to buy 1 new rod this year. For all intensive purposes 1=8. So glad we don't have a joint bank account!
  6. If your partner says "yeah, I packed that" or "already done", check anyway. Chances are that they never did! In the same day I made it to the lake without locking my coupler and made my trailer float in the water (still attached to the boat)!
  7. I use my old braid as backing. Save money and recycle!
  8. Check out this line guide. It will help you greatly! https://www.another site/blog/fishing-line-guide/
  9. Check out this line guide. It should be of great help! https://www.another site/blog/fishing-line-guide/
  10. Comfort troll also has a 4" depth. I need something closer to 3"
  11. No, that would require me to put it where my pedestal is.
  12. I recently bought a Troll Eze tray only to find out that it is to deep for my boat by about an inch (not including the drain piece). Does anyone know of a brand that makes one that is a little more shallow?
  13. This will be only be my third year of bass fishing, as I grew up on small steams trout fishing. Over the winter I upgraded from a 15' 15hp Cajun to a 18' 150hp Gambler. That would have never happened had I not started looking at lakes in depth, rather than "this looks like a good spot." In the past two years i'd say I have definatley learned a lot and can now expand on the techniques I learned, but was never really successful in being good at. Now that I can get to those key spots in no time to fish!
  14. Mine would have to be the day I went fishing with my buddy and his motor would not fire after a day on the lake. It was a really nice day until a storm decided to roll in! We were stuck on the lake with nothing more than a trolling motor to get us back to the dock, about two miles. Thunder, lightning, and white caps over the side of the boat sure was not entertaining! It probably would have been better to hit the shore and wait out the storm, but by then we would have been in the dark trying to get back.
  15. I wish I did at times. I'm not a fan of my Gambler and shallow water mentioned in the same sentence.
  16. Hoffman, have you fished canoe creek lake? It probably has more weeds come late spring/summer than all our other local lakes combined!
  17. Well, bad news. I found out at last nights meeting that our tournament on the river was moved to a local lake. Our director could not secure a permit. With all the advice and good things I have heard I plan to make a trip to the river sometime this spring though. Again, thanks for the help!
  18. BOAT- Bust Out Another Thousand! No regrets buying either of my boats though!
  19. Nothing to be worried about. I have a few like that.
  20. Could just be a difference in guides. Unless it is some outrageous difference I wouldn't be concerned.
  21. Good news and bad news. Bad news is while measuring to install my trolling motor tray today I found that the tray is to deep. Good news is that now I can send the tray back and put that money toward buying both!
  22. My reason for the Gopro extends further than fishing. I live an active life and would use it quite a bit. Thats the only reason for my debate. Sorry for not clarifying that.
  23. I have strongly been looking to buy a GoPro camera and a new fish finder for the front of my boat. The only problem is that I can only afford one or the other right now due to weddings being so expensive! My great idea of getting married at the lake and saving a few extra dollars had failed. Anyone have some input to help my decision making process?
  24. Check your backing. Your line could be spinning around the spool.
  25. After 2 months of being on back order my Troll Eze Tray shipped today! I can't wait for it to get here.
