Kvd 8.0 Square Bill
They should be a killer crankbait that's for sure. If any of you guys know anywhere that has them in stock, and wanna give up the location feel free to do so lol.

Lets Talk Squarebills!
I use a shimano Clarus 7 ft medium heavy moderate tip rod, with a shimano 200e 6.3:1 citica reel. I usually use 12 pound p-line cxx, although I have a new spool of 12 pound seaguar red label that I'm bout to try out. My favorite squarebill is a kvd 1.5 . I just picked up a few of the new storm squarebills and while they have some cool features, I'm not sure I like the action of the plug very much. The strike king lures just have so much erratic action to them, I feel like I get more strikes using them.

Looking For New Squarebill/small Crank Rod
I may do that, I just like trying different stuff, I'm a weirdo when it comes to testing products out lol. I def loved the diesel, but I've read a lot of reviews about them breaking, which for 50-60 bucks isn't a huge deal, it's just inconvenient. Mine broke in half at beginning of cast. I've actually recommended them for squarebills, I think they have perfect action for them,as well as jerkbaits. Like I said just looking for suggestions on other rods, another diesel isn't out of the question though.

Looking For New Squarebill/small Crank Rod
Broke my favorite squarebill rod last weekend, Powell diesel. Looking at options at or under 100$. Rods that have caught my eye Shimano Clarus 7' medium moderate or the 7' medium heavy moderate Abu garcia veritas 7' winch medium moderate I'm a fan of the fiberglass rods for cranking and that's what I've used before, but haven't really found many offerings in price range. On the 7 ft rods I like a rod that has good tip flex to fight the fish, but not super whippy while casting. It seems more difficult to accurately cast parrellel to banks when the rod is too whippy. If anyone has experience with these two rods or have another rod to recommend, I appreciate it. Look forward to hearing from you guys, thanks.

Reel Brake Settings - Flipping & Pitching ?
I use two brakes and set the mag control low, also set the spool knob with a touch of tension. Denny said one thing in a video I watched a while back that stuck with me. He said, I set my reel so I can make quick casts when jumping from dock to dock, makes sense to me. If in between docks there is some good cover along bank, it makes it easy to already have your reel setup to still be able to cast to the cover/ object.

Tungsten Weight Advice?
I flip docks and heavy laydowns a lot, 90% or the time I use a 3/8, I will use 1/2 sometimes. I never go below 3/8 simply because I use a 7'6 heavy rod to flip with and to be honest with you, I don't feel the weight and bait very good at all when I go with lighter weights.

Help Me Like My New Rod
Nice rod, but just because others like it doesn't mean you have to force yourself to like it. Fish with it some and make your own decision. From experience, the worse thing you can do is try to force yourself to like a product. You'll end up with the rod stuck in your rod box more than fishing with it.

1 Lure You Have No Confidence In...
Deep diving crankbaits- caught fish on them, but can't really figure them out and catch fish throughout the day with them. Hard jerkbaits- just doesn't happen for me, can kill them on soft jerkbaits. Hollow body swimbaits- tried every way to rig them and fish them, and can't remember catching more than one fish on them.

Hi Visibility Line
Just take a black sharpie and color the line black the last few feet.

Crankbait Rod Problem
Yeah somethig with your setup is messed up. I've fished a ton of strike king crankbaits and they are all pretty well tuned out of the pack.

Skeet Reese Rods At $49 Worth It?
I've got three of them, the 7'2(I think) jig and worm rod, the 7'6 heavy cover micro rod, and the 7' spinnerbait rod. There are lighter rods out there, but I got mine for 50$ also, for that price I think they are good. Just check the ones you are interested in closely. Check the guide placement and epoxy. A lot of people don't like them that much, but I've had good luck with them. I've caught plenty of fish on mine, and they have held up good so far.

Clearance Tackle
My walmart had a lot of stuff on clearance, but most of it was only like 90 cents off, not much of a clearance lol. I went into gander mountain the other day and that's quit possibly the worse "big" sale I've ever seen in my life. No hooks on sale, very few lines on sale, and the plastics and hard baits that were on sale was either buy 3 get one free or buy 4 get one free, which ends up not being much of a sale. The bass pro sale is by far the best around here, it's literally the only one that actually has some decent markdowns on prices.

Who's Your Favorite Pro?
Edwin, Tim Horton, Denny brauer.

Revo S Or Bass Pro Pq?
They are on sale for 79.99 in store, they give you an option of buying a 5$ zebco to donate to children also. With the purchase of the 5$ reel you get a additional 10$ off. So that'll bring the reel down to 74.99.

Revo S Or Bass Pro Pq?
I know I'm gonna get some people that won't like what I say, but I don't think you would like the curado g anymore than the pro qualifier. I have 2 of them along with a couple lews and a citica e. I have liked every shimano product I have ever used and am not bashing them what so ever. The dual braking on the pro qualifier is nice and it's a super easy reel to cast, very used friendly. With it on sale, you can't go wrong. It's a well built reel, don't let the price fool ya. Could get the pro qualifier and let him pick some good terminal tackle or some neat baits out with the extra money. Just my two cents

Abu Garcia Orra
I have no experience with the orra, but the reviews on the abu garcia site itself are not very good. Seems to be some issues with them in every thread I see about them. I'd get a bps pro qualifier or curado. Can find curado for 99 right now and can get the pro qualifier for 75$ right now. 70$ if you trade old reel in at bass pro. I'd have a hard time passing up pro qualifier myself.

Classic On Espn2

10 Lb Mono To Light For Bc
Lol not quite 48 pounds mine was low 20 pound. I was impressed with the line after that, I have no idea how it didn't break.

10 Lb Mono To Light For Bc
I caught one around that size on freakin 4 lb test trilene xl, on a ultra light spinning rig one time lol. Pearl white grub tail on a roadrunner jig head. Took forever to get fish in.

Talk About A Lack Of Respect...
I totally agree with you, I also agree that people should respect other anglers. I always respect other anglers, if they are fishing a tournament or not. People should have the common sense to stay back from the pro anglers, if they are spectating, just as tournament anglers shouldn't run in on you if you are setup at a spot fishing. The biggest problem I have, is the local tournament fishers that get the "local pro" ego and are just rude and disrespectful.

Classic On Espn2
Just finished watching it. Edwin has been my favorite for a few years. I always liked denny brauer, since he's gone Edwin and Tim Horton is my favorite. Edwin seems like a really good dude, just super respectful to everyone and seems like he enjoys fishing so much. Have a lot of respect for the man. I sure hope he gets a classic win before his career is over. Howell put it on them the second and third day. Congrats to him.

Lews Speed Spool Or Tournament Speed Spool
I have a few pro qualifiers with dual braking and they are nice for fine adjustment. I've had some reels with magnetic braking that suck and some that are great. The lews speed spool I have that I use for deep cranking works flawless. I also have a citica that I use for squarebills, the 6 pin braking on it works great too. I think where the dual braking shines is on smaller lighter baits, where you can really fine tune the brakes.

Shimano Chronarch 51E/201E Handle Screw Removal
I wouldn't call shimano with a bad attitude. The loctite is there for a reason, so the screw won't back out while your out on the lake. A good screw driver and careful removal, and none of this would've ever happened. Glad you got it off either way, hawgtech handles looks sweet.

Shimano Chronarch 51E/201E Handle Screw Removal
The blue stuff was more than likely loctite. Just take a dremel, cut a slot in the screw, then take a lighter or small butane torch and hit the underside of the screw, doesn't have to be super hot just warm, you don't wanna melt the composite but retainer. Loctite will come unglued with a lil heat. My other hobby is messing around with drag cars, so I've had a lot of experience with stuck bolts and broken bolts, crap like that. It shouldn't be too hard to get the screw out if you fiddle with it a little bit.

Skeet Reese Tessera Pair
I have three of them and I like them pretty well. A lot of people don't like them much, but I've never had a problem with them. They are a little heavier than some rods and aren't built with the care of higher end rods, but when your on a budget, they work great. They sure beat the heck out of the old junk I used to use. I do not use the reels though, they have a lot issues evidently.
