  1. 1. Texas rig (worm, creature, craw) 2. Jig and Rage Tail trailer 3. Wacky rigged senko
  2. For jigs and T-rigs I use a St. Croix Triumph 7' MHF. Zero complaints so far.
  3. They are in the same family as sunfish and bass. They kind of have the same looking mouth as a Crappie.
  4. I believe that's a Warmouth. Not certain because they're not around here, but I think that's what it is.
  5. FWIW...We had 3 straight days of thunderstorms on Tues, Wednesday and Thurs. On Friday the bite was on fire. Had a great day after 3 days of storms.
  6. I throw topwater first thing in the morning, and once the water calms down in the evening. Usually it's a popper, but I also throw spooks and jitterbugs. The other day I had something crush (but miss) a crank bait that was wrapped in the line, as it just twirled on the surface.
  7. What reason is there for people to make up something so meaningless? I have eaten largemouth probably four times, four different ways and every single time it tasted like skunky seaweed. You could smell them as it cooked. Now what reason could I possibly have for making that up to anyone, let alone online? You Sir are too funny..
  8. I use MegaStrike on my soft plastics. One advantage to MegaStrike is it supposed to help the soft plastic pull through the weeds easier, almost like a lubricant.
  9. Samardzjia and Hammel to Oakland! Didn't expect them both to be dealt to the same team. Especially Oakland. IMO they might be the team to beat in the AL with the added pitching depth. Atlanta is at 8 games in a row! =D And Kershaw is at 36 innings scoreless...He is a monster.
  10. Thanks. I caught em in about 4-5 feet of water. And the Braves are at 8 in a row as of tonight!
  11. Hit the water really early this morning and it payed off. My first 2 casts produced almost 10 lbs of bass. 4.58 lbs 4.84 lbs Got both on a Culprit 10" black ribbon-tail worm T-rigged. We caught a bunch more bass, couple more big ones, and one decent sized pike. Great day on the water. Happy 4th!
  12. Try slowing your presentation down maybe. For me, after I hop or drag a jig I will then let it sit for 10 seconds or so. After I let it sit, I start to shake it in place, and this is where the majority of my strikes happen.
  13. I'll stay out ALL day if I have nothing going on. Today I fished 5 am until 3:30 pm, so 10.5 hours. Would have stayed longer, but my dog was by herself. If the fish are biting, you can't get me off the water, unless your name is lightening.
  14. Yikes...Just Tuesday I was fishing a small lake and a storm was approaching, so we headed for shore. Bolts of lightening started coming down. But on our way in we passed an aluminum canoe, and the guy was paddling out further into the lake! We couldn't believe it. By this time the sky was black. We loaded up and got away from the water fast, and that guy kept paddling towards the middle. I hope that guy made it off the water ok.
  15. Awesome dog. My Border Collie mix has gone out on the boat with me once, and she will be going a lot more this year. She isn't too fond of pickerel lol.
  16. I think they can potentially be anywhere that LM and SM co-exist.
  17. Gettin the boat out, hopefully around 5 am. I hope to fish all day. And the same thing for Saturday and Sunday. Family is going away, so no obligations other than fishing.
  18. 19.5". Didn't weigh it, but I guess between 4 and 4.5 lbs. Got it on a 4" watermelon Senko.
  19. Spinnerbaits. With everything Ive heard and read about them, I am embarrassed to admit that I don't think I've even had a strike while using a spinnerbait, other than pickerel. I've tried, just maybe not for long enough. I just don't understand how people have success on them.
  20. Hook size is 1/0-4/0 depending on the baits, and bait size is usually a 4-6" lizard or a 7" worm. I use black or dark colors a lot for C-rigs because I'm usually fishing in deeper water. I like dark colors when fishing deeper.
  21. I use a tungsten weight heavy enough to keep in contact with the bottom, so at least 1/4 oz. I also use a 24" leader; fluorocarbon or heavier mono depending on what structure I'm fishing. I'll use heavy mono to help keep the bait above any weeds. My favorite baits are lizards, but I also use worms, grubs and creatures. I usually use something with a curly or ribbon tail.
  22. I've had tails and claws ripped off by small fish before. Happens somewhat often.
  23. Definitely soft plastics, and more specifically YCB plastics. Senkos, Hulagrubs, Kreatures and Flappin Hogs. 7 bucks a bag and I have and have used so many.
  24. Gotta say, OP's picture definitely makes me want to give it another try.
