  1. Been a member for a while, wondering if anyone else would like a separate forum page like they have for different regions for bass fishing. Being that many anglers of all stripes love this site, how about a trout forum, seen allot of carp questions all lumped together in "other" species. Just a thought. Don't need forums for every fish species but one for bass and one for all others seems like it can use a update. More species to talk about, easier to find the forums equals more members.
  2. Looking for a decent trout site that isn't all about fly fishing. If anybody knows of any, being that I use a spinning set up, I would appreciate your thoughts
  3. If your fishing in water usually stocked all the big fish may be gone, leaving just wild trout or the smaller stockers left. Over pressure makes them wise. I go out plenty of times and don't get bit, I walk around with a rooster tail. Pa hasn't stocked since beginning in June I believe. Just find another section of the river to fish, don't get down. They say it's too hot and trout go out to deeper spots, migrating toward bigger rivers during hot summer temps.
  4. What kind of bait or lure were you using?
  5. I been having most of my luck on rooster tails. Tried the panther martin spinners, like them also but no hook ups. Rooster tail for me. I have most hits casting upstream
  6. Man, trout sure are picky eaters, they get spooked very easy...... I think that makes me want to catch them even more. Definitely into trout fishing more than bass fishing.. I like standing in the streams, no shirt, enjoying nature., waiting for a trout to slip up. They're so smart.
  7. Do you think that was a wild trout, or a stocker?
  8. Very nice, we need more ppl posting photos , topics on trout.
  9. I just bought the countdown size 3. Only went out one time fishing with it, doesn't cast that far but I can't wait to hook up with a trout in deeper water. As far as other trout lures, I'm a lil fuzzy as to the size of spoon, or those inline spinners I believe their called. Panther martins, mepps, ph oebe lures. What size is good. I use a 4"6 ugly stick ultra light.
  10. Recently got the f7. Good size and casts good, but does anyone use the bigger sizes for trout? Don't need to much nonsense in my tackle box. Also what's the news on the rapala countdown? Seems like it might get stuck on debris or whatever on bottom of river more than I would prefer.
  11. I borrowed my wife's gloves with the finger tips cut out. What a difference.
  12. The reports say there are many types of fish..... But I ask why no fisherman. I don't even think I saw any sunnies when I was there. But if you guys try this place, catch any bass, post a picture. Btw... at dusk you see fish jumping but might be trout... might be a bass... let's gets some pics of the fish in there
  13. Has anyone ever caught a bass at this "lake"? I see carp, pretty sure they stock trout around there. But I would like to hear from other fisherman in the area that have knowledge on this body of water . it's location is in between linden street and Hamilton st ./Ott st intersecting st. .people refer to it as cedar beach.
  14. No its ten minutes from Vera Cruz tavern.
  15. When i see guys ice fishing really small ponds i have a couple of thoughts in my head. Are they hurting the pond by overfishing it due to already small numbers, sizes. Do any ice fisherman practice catch and release? Seeing those guys on the ice i immediately said no wonder fishing in the spring and summer are a bust At that pond.
  16. Does all this snow mean that water levels for ponds and lakes will be at normal height ? I noticed at a few ponds last summer they were lower than the yr before.
  17. If u try the res beware of downed trees or branches, they claimed many lures
  18. Go out MacArthur rd, turn left at mechanicsville rd, right on mauch chunk rd, stay on for two miles or so sign on left, turn right onto side street, it will be on right.
  19. Also salisbury has a pond right near tgeir little league fiels and courts
  20. Also in emmaus theres a nice family pond on tenth street, ooonly been there once but give it a try. Its right on the side of the road
  21. I fished for bass at the south mountain resevoir right off of emmaus ave. Gotta take tenth street up to the res. Has some bass but not too accessible but for a few spots. It actually has two, one bigger pond one smaller. Since im in allentown its a quick drive for some bass.
