  1. I agree that different days, different lures, but I was gonna post about the horny toad and I was happy this was started. Dicks online has plastics buy 1 get one half off and free shipping if you spend 50.
  2. I am glad this came up. I went fishing yesterday and caught several with the horny toad. The watermelon didn't work, but the bull frog sure did. It was calm and the pond has a lot of frogs in it. On a lark, I threw a teeny torpedo and the bass followed it to the edge and nailed it there. Nothing else worked.
  3. I got one last year and only had a few bites.
  4. Have you caught anything on them?
  5. I have ordered many times from them. The customer service folks always let me know the status too. They will often wait till the whole b/o comes in, but if you make a new order, they will ship what materials have already come in with the order. I once waited several months for some items and they let me exchange items that were in stock. The total went over what I had paid and they comped me on it. TW is great.
  6. Tell someone please. I am handicapped aND I WENT INTO THE WILD TO SAVE A LURE AND SANK IN MUD. nOBODY WAS AROUND AND IT TOOK OVER 1/2 HOUR TO FREE MYSELF.
  7. I am in NJ and both senkos and wave worms wacky rigged are working. I also caught several with the smithwick rogue clown colored. I don't think it is fair, but I used live shinners and caught one with every cast. Nightcrawlers have worked too.
  8. In the spring, I like the smithwick rattlin' rouge in clown.
  9. I mostly fish banks that have few people. I have fished larger lakes where I see what people are talking about. I come for peace so why fight them. When I fish smaller lakes/large ponds, people often let their dog (they are to be leased) jump in where you are fishing and swim. They do this several times. Once a lady got in the water not 5 feet from me to train her dog how to swim. This happens all over as I see able bodied people leave shopping carts all the time in handicapped spaces. It is a sense of entitlement or they are just too lazy. They know what they are doing, but they just don't care or have any respect for others. I am handicapped and walk with a very pronounced limp. In the grocery, many quickly run with their cart to cut in front of me for the checkout. It is often less than five feet from the check-out and they see me heading for the line. I go fishing for relaxation so I guess one day I will have to build my own pond and stock it. I am getting ready to retire and have been searching for a house with a pond that is easy to access. I am centering in on a couple and I have just 802 days left.
  10. I like to fish for everything. I am happy pulling out fish. I do enjoy trying all the different bass lures the most though. My area is trout area. The ponds and lakes are stocked weekly by the state and private clubs. I have several places which are private so I seldom run into other anglers. When I do, most are professional people and the conversations are very cordial.
  11. Night Crawler Rapala suspending black/silver frog
  12. What part of the country are you from?
  13. The big pond was posted no fishing due to trout stocking. The smaller pond was 95% ice, but I had room to cast. I wanted to try new lures, but the opening was limited so I used nightcrawlers and a plastic grub. It was about 62 degrees and windy, but I caught one. Yes it was small, but it was great fishing again. I always love catching the first of the season.
  14. I also carve the moons and suns on outhouse doors.
  15. collards replied to Bk4's topic in Fishing Tackle
Used them many times. No complaints
  16. I started as a child, but drifted away. About 7 or 8 years ago one of my sons wanted to go. We did and I remembered how much fun it was.
  17. Faculty at a college, but 854 days till retirement.
