  1. I live in NJ too, but the governor has closed down the state, County and townships waters. Before that, I went a couple of times to non-trout stocked waters. I was able to catch a few Bass by using plastic worms. I first started out by using live worms for blue gill since I thought that was all that were biting. I caught a small bass and from there I tried other lures with no success until plain worms hooked on the nose and allowed to sink naturally. I have not been back due to the restrictions and the rangers are enforcing Murphy's orders. Where I go at times, there is nobody there. It is safe distancing, but .
  2. I go to the religious forums in facebook and argue with complete strangers. I also watch the polka shows on RFD TV.
  3. I went to WackyWorm today. I was pleasantly surprised. It is just an older style building on the outside and not a lot of decorations, displays on the inside. What they have are lures and other baits. They had a great selection of soft plastics (much better than the two headed monster chain). They had most of the major brands that the online warehouse stores have, but the prices were cheaper (at least those I checked). The paca net was .40 cheaper than the online store. I have not checked other baits, but the owner told me that he has better prices. I believe him. The shoppers were friendlier too then those I see in the two-headed monster stores. You could talk fishing without feeling rushed. They had plenty of brands and plenty of colors. They had their own brand too. I had about 50 packs of these soft wacky Worm (soft stick senko style). They were 4.49 a pack for ten. The whole store was 20% off, but I found some soft baits for 50%. The sale is this week. I have not had the chance to try their worms, but the shoppers told me they work quite well and for 3.60 a pack, it was worth a shot. The scent was good and I like their colors. All in all , I will gladly be back (about an hour's drive) as there is a very good polish restaurant close. We had really good potato pancakes, fried breaded pork chop, stuffed cabbage, cucumber salad and a heck of a side of kielbasa for just 2.49 extra. The mashed potatoes and pancakes well season very well. I like to fish and to eat. Overall, a great experience. The polish restaurant wetted my appetite and now I can't wait to wet some of these new baits . I also got some of their own tubes, swimming minnows and different style hooks. I got other packs of the national plastics. Cheaper prices plus 20% off. The staff was friendly and helpful.I felt like I was in a fishing store around other fishermen.
  4. I caught fish all seasons on them.

snap - one tie. I can use my hand and my mouth, but sometimes my wife.

I use them all the time without problems. I am paralyzed in my right hand and my left has limited mobility. Ttying a knot using the left and my mouth is very hard so swivels are great even for tubes.
  7. I caught many and on several occasions with craws, but I caught the most with BPS Shadee Shad in toad oil. They look real with great action. Fish slow with a little twitch and boom. That is, if they have not been hit on the fall. I didnt use to trust BPS lures but this and their Wacky Stik-O Worm have really worked. I am addicted to lures (as are most) and I have just about every soft, but these are real winners for me.
  8. This has been asked before, but have mercy. When should I and on what should I rig a jighead on or a ewg hook? What is the difference?
  9. If you call them and kindly sad you are disappointed in the sale, one had an attitude. They seem to have gotten too big. Usually customer service folks are nice there. There are other places to buy tackle and some are having across the board 20%.
  10. I went to another place for 20% off and they had a bigger sale on whooper bloopers. I bought alot and then had to spend enough for other stuff to get the free shipping. I made that and more. I also skipped TW's 15% and will wait till black Friday. I have 167 items in my wish list with one at 99.99. Can you tell I'm retired.
  11. The usual answer. What is catching them. I do like the keitechs with a charlie brewer spider darter head and plastic craws.
  12. I went out this morning with some shadee shad (toad lick). I used a 5.0 ewg hook. I had no luck with top waters and senkos, but I caught bass with this. I was kinda shocked. It was the only plastic shad I used so I don't know if they just wanted shad. All I know is that they worked. Will try them again.

Bill Dance is pushing Shadee Shad by BPS again. How do they compare with the other brands. Anybody have success with these.
  14. Thanks everybody. I want to try new things and will use your suggestions.
  15. looks good, but I was wondering if there was something besides the slip shot. Is there something like a long split shot that can encase the line and close tight on it? Thanks Camman
  16. Glen speaks of using a cylindrical weight for split shoting (not drop shot) for grubs & other fishing. I looked at a few places and nobody had any. Does anyone know where I can get them. He said Mojo was the first company to produce them. Thanks
  17. I have multiple packs of them. I did say that there were some things to buy, but I want to have a larger selection. I make a big order in this season. I have made 5 orders of 50-60 so far, but I have been waiting to make a large one. I can get 20% across the board elsewhere and it includes megabass and the other big brands. Tackle warehouse has gotten comfortable in their reputation as THE place. They have good people on the phone, even a wish list too, but not the good sales except for Black Friday. I just like to save money so I can buy more tackle.
  18. tackle warehouse has its classic sale. 25% off certain items. You can find stuff, but it seems like stuff and colors they are stuck with. Will wait to use them in November and until then there are some better sales elsewhere. I told this to one of their operators and I hope that they have not so full of themselves that they continue with not the greatest sales. Once again, you can pick stuff, but I like the % across the board sales better.
  19. Have you read : Marine: the life of chesty puller
  20. Lurenet has the complete inventory for rebel and 11 other brands owed by the parent company. I searched all the pop-rs and I failed to see the red white. Perhaps if you write them, they may make them again.
  21. Thanks I wasn't trying to be rude.
  22. Thanks but I wanted to know what size are the extended shanks to fit the 4 incher.
  23. Hi -- any thoughts on a good insider jig head for a 4 and 5 inch tube?
  24. I know this has been answered several times, but what suspending jerkbaits do you like. Megabass is quite high. Do you think that they are worth it. What about the rapala, bombers, Lucky craft pointers, Jenko, rattlin rogue, spro McStik, storm twitch, yo-zuri 3db, jackall squad minnow etc. I have many of them, but I want others views as I wish to reduce my tackle. I have tried some of the above with and without success. I would like what works well for you. I am putting together a new order. BTW my body is letting me move some now. My kids will drive me down to the pond and I can sit in my chair on a concrete ramp and fish from there. I am looking forward to it as it has been a long time without fishing.
