1 Lure You Have No Confidence In...
For me its probably the A-rig. Caught a few fish on it but just don't like heaving that chandelier all day. See a lot of folks post lipless/red-eye shad as their least on the confidence list. My no.1 producer this winter was a lipless crank, even over silver buddy and hair jig. Took some practice to get the feel of slow cranking it off rocks and structure. Think i only lost 2 all winter i couldn't shake loose by moving boat or get back with plug knocker. Think contact with submerged objects is probably why most of the lures listed here aren't catching fish for folks. A nice pause after contact usually does the trick. Just my two cents worth.

Best Knot For Fluoro
Trilene knot for me. Use seaguar knot when connecting floro to braid in winter mainly because it's fast to tie and can get gloves back on in a hurry.

Fishing In High Winds
I fish in the wind a lot here in east Tn. our lakes seldom freeze over, but TVA draws down most of the upper, water storage lakes in the winter. Not unusual to see a 30-50' elevation change in the winter here. I like to fish the points that the wind is blowing into with a heavier lure like a trap or a football jig. Wear your PFD and keep a boarding step/ladder/rope with loop hanging off side for safety. Had some of my best days ever in 20mph wind in 43-45 degree water

Must Have Smallmouth Lures?
Depends on time of year or if you are shore or boat fishing. late winter to early spring : a trap slow ticked off rocks. spring to early summer: single swimmer over cover. Summer to late fall: night fishing a jig off main lake points and humps. Late fall to early winter: v-wake a bone color long-A along points and shady bluffs. early to late winter: tightlining, float-n-fly, silver buddy and a hair jig

Tennessee Anglers Need Help
Night fishing on Douglas can be awesome in summer. We have a day tx in the spring and usually a night tx in the summer over there. There is a Bass Pro at the exit on I40 where you turn off to get into Gatlinburg

Don't ever sign up for a boat or truck giveaway either. They will bombard your phone and e-mail with time share and Allstate insurance promo's. *** usually runs actual sales on gear as far as price goes.

Stick A Fork In Me
It has been a winter like we used to have here in East Tennessee. You can get them in cold muddy water if you can stand the weather.
