  1. I Did this for many years...because I'm pretty particular about stuff. I stopped about a year ago because I realized that life is too short And The Plastic Only Lasts A Year Or So And It's A Pretty Nominal Effect over The Life Of The rod. I have been super happy because I just learned that a magic eraser brings the cork back to brand new.
  2. I just carry one lure...it is a mini figure of Chuck Norris. It's great because I am guaranteed to catch at least 1 fish on every cast. Also because it's chuck norris the lure never even gets a scratch on it, and it has never broken off because the fish are to scared to But I suppose if I did carry lots of lures it would be in 5 plano 3600 boxes out of a blue pro qualifier 360 bag from bps. I also might be thinking about getting the double deep 3700 versions for a large size upgrade in the near future.
  3. You can also buy a trailer hook for your frog. I would recommend the following: http://m.basspro.com/Lake-Fork-Trophy-Lures-Frog-Tail-Hook/product/11111505010510/
  4. I was just reading about this on BR a few days ago on a different thread. The consensus was to keep your baits in the original packaging and then place them in a gallon zip lock bag for maximum freshness. This is what I do but I also keep a 3600 full of my current favorites.
  5. I use palomar knot on larger lb test lines and the improved clinch knot on smaller lb test...10 and under. I appreciate the smaller profile the palomar knot makes. Also I wrap 5 times..how about everyone else...how many wraps?
  6. I think flogging would be a good punishment for littering! A pond I fish has gone from pretty nice to couches, tv, old rubble etc all in the last year. Construction is being done just down the road and I think the construction guys have found it because there are a ton of misc construction supplies showing up.
  7. Don't forget to apply it to your rod guides! Also no other product comes close to this IMHO, as a lot of other conditioners are petroleum based, and or merely coat your line. KVD LL soaks into your line and amazingly is not greasy. Like others have said, the night before makes a big difference.
  8. Caught 6 in 20 minutes about 5-6 weeks ago (best start I've ever had in KS this time of year), and then busted off the only worm I brought like it. Only caught 1 the next 40 minutes. I was drop shotting with a 16inch lead vertically below a dock in about 15 feet of lightly stained water. I was using a small 4" stik-o from BPS. I find the smaller stik-o's to be much softer than the 5" version. I had 10lb fireline on an old rapala spinning combo and a 6lb berkley vanish fluoro leader.
  9. I fish from my kayak pretty much the same I do from the bank. I find myself making a lot of side casts with my baitcaster.
  10. There are plenty of on-line calculators you can find from a google search.

http://www.merck.com/research/common-myths-sun-protection.html I thought this was a short and informative read about sun protection. I found it when I was doing some research based on this thread. These are the kinds of things we need to teach in school if you ask me.
  12. I would choose Larry the Cable guy. That would be a bunch of fun, and im sure he knows how to fish a little.

Cool, thanks for the info. I checked everywhere on their website except the FAQ...duh. I did some other reading and found that a t-shirt is usually between 3-9 spf depending on the type of blend. It's kinda scary low and shows me the need for a well made spf shirt.
  14. Great picture! The best part is you can still buy the same hat from BPS if you wanted to recreate the picture! http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Embroidered-Logo-Mesh-Caps/product/85163/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT Can't get it in the orange anymore though.
  15. I decided to quote your post because mine would almost be the same...word for word. It is behind my buddies house and we hadn't had any luck on the main lake and he looked at me with shame in his eyes and said "Well, don't look down on me but sometimes when I can't catch anything I go to this little pond I know", I told him...."Are you kidding me, if we can catch fish lets go" it was great!
  16. I had never tried a magic eraser on cork...tried it today and it was money. I forgot how tacky clean cork can be.
  17. Funny story...sad reality of how much trash gets dumped in our lakes and ponds.

Do u know what spf these are. I couldn't find that info anywhere on their website.
  19. First off all frog togz work great but TRY THEM ON BEFORE BUYING....because trust me they fit a little weird. It is the only downside in my opinion and will depend on your body type etc. With that said I just bought my second BPS rain jacket (taped seams is a must). The first one cost me $20 on sale and I got 6 plus years out of it, I just paid $40 for the newer model and hope it lasts the same.
  20. I have done this on occasion with a small rapala or even a silverfox spinning minnow. It works but I get the feeling that it lowers the lures desirable action. I only fish them that way when I have too.
  21. Way bigger that is stocked in the stream I fish. Those are some nice trout!
  22. What a cheapskate way of doing this...I LOVE IT! Seriously your awesome for using things from around the house and saving th from the landfill etc. I love projects like these when you can make something useful with life's scraps.
  23. Of course without seeing your reel it's pretty difficult to say for sure. But one thing that I think would help is Kevin van dams line and lure conditioner. It is a GREAT product and will coat your line and my guess is the water won't cling so much.
  24. How much data does that eat up? I use Pandora on Wi-fi, but have loaded lots of MP3's on my phone to avoid streaming when connected on mobile.
