  1. I use braid with a fluoro leader. This helps me have the best sensitivity and also allows me to fish clear water...which I often times do. I have found that using straight braid in muddy water is ok, but have noticed that the fluoro is a big help in clearer water. I also recommend using the search function for this topic in our forums, as there are probably more posts on this than you could read in one sitting.
  2. X3. Although I use a double uni knot.
  3. Sounds like I'll be avoiding mccoys. I'm pretty happy with my suffix 832 anyways.
  4. Checking out the link you posted now.
  5. Some great points listed above. I love Jon boats but own a kayak because it's easy to own and transport solo. The thing that annoys me about Jon boats is when it's windy the constant slapping of waves on the metal gets real old real quick. It's the little things ya know. My final suggestion would be look into a nuCanoe, it's a canoe kayak hybrid, can be easily stood up in, and some models can easy have a second seat placed in for your buddy the 10% of the time.
  6. I have seen several videos of folks installing the transducer in the storage compartment of a sot kayak, they all say it shoots thru the bottom plastic layer fine with no defect. I would at least test it before putting a hole in my yak. I don't have a fish finder in my yak yet but have been researching doin so for a while now.
  7. Of all the products I've ever tried kvd was the most surprisingly good results. You will never know if it will help you with the specific setup u mention because personally I think there are lots of variables possible like shelf time etc. But u can use it on all your line so for $7.99 from most major retailers it's TOTALLY worth a try. There...did I convince you? Maybe kvd will read my glowing g review and send some free product.
  8. Juiced jigs. Or how about being straight forward and calling your company "really high quality jigs". I would buy from you for that reason alone, I get tired of all the marketing these days.
  9. First pic I thought 2.5, second pic makes me think closer to 3.
  10. The odds of me using this product when I have to match the lb test to each lure or change the ring, not to mention have to put them on multiple lures....is about a million to one. Plus once you put the ring on a lure are you gonna start re organizing lures based on type then based on the exact lb test it requires? I'm not saying your crazy if you use them, I'm just saying it would be a total kill joy for me.
  11. Mouthful Jigs
  12. Where do you get your bic lighters for free?
  13. So I went through the research for the whole relief of tension on springs to save them a couple years back. I did it with regards to should you leave the magazines on your gun half loaded to allow them to work longer. A whole lot of people prescribe to this theory, but from all I learned it's an old wives tale. Talk To ANY engineer that has done work in the field of spring g making or manufacturing and they will tell you that having a spring under pressure has no effect on its life, the only thing that wears out a spring is by it expanding and contracting or being used. Not sure the setup of your strap mechanism but hope this helps.
  14. What kind of canoe is it? 44 lbs is very light, sounds like a dream.
  15. Welcome to team yak. Your gonna love fishing out of it.
  16. I myself have found some real nice $1.49 Buzzbaits at academy. They also have big bite baits for $1.49 per 5 pack of senko which is a great price. I have had pretty good luck with the jumbo soft bait pack I bought from bps.
  17. Wanted to attach a picture of it but the file is too big to work I guess. Not sure how to shrink down the file size on my phone.
  18. We just had a thread like this one, I think it was more great toward our secret weapon lures. Anyways I would say my favorite lure is the one I am catching fish on! lately it has been a copper shad crank bait from academy's h20 line. But just lost that one so now I would say it my new strike king spinnerbait. White and green skirt with a long white tail portion of the skirt that extends out like a trailer would. For blades it has large willow and a small Colorado blade, both are silver in color.
  19. Suffix 832. Got the camo color because it was on clearance for $3.98. The color was awesome for the first 2 days, but has faded a lot. Still great line though and the color variation on the line helps me visualize how quick my bait is moving in the water when retreiving, so this has helped me slow down a lot and be more patient. So if ur an impatient fisherman like me then camo braid or marking your line might be a good tip to help you slow down your presentation.
  20. You can get frog specific trailer hooks.
  21. I totally agree! I have to bring pliers anyways, so why not have a great pair of cutting blades attached to my pliers and kill 2 birds with one stone.
  22. My son asked me why that is true, so about a year ago I did some research and found nothing to say that is true. I did however find lots of experts who said that it's not harmful and infact sometimes the worms can grow themselves back. If anyone has evidence to show it is true I would love to hear it because then I could go back to my son and tell him Dad was right all along...haha.
  23. Spinnerbaits slow rolled. I have never been a fan of spinnerbaits but this spring I committed to using them and I have been doing very well with them.
  24. Sorry, they are actually aluminum, not stainless steel like I stated above. Here is the link to the ones I have. http://m.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_576705_-1__?N=845454862&affcode=42&kwid=ps_cse&cid=PLA_022549133&gclid=CM349MiYhL4CFS8V7AodnQwAMQ&deviceType=true
