Powell endurance 714 it's the best jig rod made

I use 50lb power pro on baitcasters I spool up with a mono backing tho and just add enough braid for my longest cast plus 10 yds ... Why use 20 or 30 when u can use 50 or 65 ? Just the added confidence in knowing he ain't gonna break u off .

I use braid no leader on spooks Sammy's and stuff like that and I use 15 lb mono on pop r's

This is a sad story and prayers go out to the families but u say that saying it wasn't preventable is saying that why bother wearing a kill switch that the outcome will b the same as this . I for one have a bad habit of not wearing a life jacket or kill switch unless in a tournnament and this story is gonna make me put mine on from now on everytime I get in my boat . This story I'm sure will have an impact on lots of people and in turn may save countless lives in the future . I'm not trying to make an argument or make anyone mad. Just saying don't say it wasn't preventable cause saying that is not true . I work on a drilling rig and we have thousands of safety rules that are put in place to help save lives and I've seen the outcome when those rules are not followed

I frog fish a lot and I have tried every frog made and I like Ishs frog the best ..it's the only frog I have fished that doesn't get water in it and hook ups r great .. Land pretty much 99 percent of them ... Not the prettiest but who cares it catches them flat out ...

I'm sure they kept there rods at the lowest price possible for as long as they could , everything in life is going up . I love powell rods I have nothing bad to say about any of there models . I haven't had the chance to fish a timax rod yet but I'm sure it's a fantastic rod .

I use fluoro but I'm about to switch over to lake fork powersilk . There's not a whole lot of info on it but it's a copolymer line 11 percent stretch super thin .. I talked with with lake fork about it and asked would it b good for jigs and flipping and they were like yea ur gonna love it if u don't like fluoro .. I think fluoro is over rated and expensive. I really don't care about the invisibility factor as I really don't think it matters much ..we do have some clear lakes in arkansas and I'll get bit on braid just as much as my partner throwing fluoro. However I really like braid just on my topwater rod and frog rod as well as for punching

I have powell 764 flipping stick and a 725 I use the 764 for Carolina rigs and football jigs and the 725 is power house I also throw an a rig on the 725 and even that big heavy thing is no match for there 5 power rods and they r not broomsticks either great tips super sensitive

Buy a powell and b done with it ....there flipping sticks are unmatched

Powell endurance or take a look at the the new powell timax series I haven't bought one yet but I can only imagine it's gonna blow everything else outta the water . I can vouch for the endurance lineup I own the 725 723 714 764 all fantastic rods wouldn't trade them for any rod and I mean any rod

As far as rods go Powell makes a great rod and there customer service can't be beat .if u have question concerning a rod you can talk to the owner . By email or phone ... Very helpful

Believe it or not I have a black max but most of my reels are pq's and lews tournament and that black max will outcast them I don't know how or why but I can put that on the same rod same bait and zing it out about 10yards farther other than that I really don't like the reel it just doesn't balance well on my rods but for the price it's a good reel and if I was on a budget Id buy them .... That being said u can pick up pro qualifiers on bass pro website right now 69bucks a steal they r great reals love there drag . My favorite is lews tournament tho I'm slowly switching all my reels over to them I've got 9 pq's left to swap out
