So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Wow Josh! Man I hate to hear that! I know the feeling though, I think I blew mine also going into big bass the other day but I haven't taken into the shop to see the full extent of damage. It just locked up all of a sudden while running around 5k rpm. Anyway, looks like I'm down for the count for awhile!

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
I'm finally due home from work in a week and ready to hit the water! Last time I was on TB in early June, the fish were really bunched up on points and ledges and biting most everything I throwed at em. Has anyone seen them still like that or do they spread out more as the summer wears on?

Network Elite 7 And Hds 12
I recently purchased a Gen 3 HDS 12 to replace the Elite 7 I have at the console. I'm moving the 7 to the bow. The Elite 7 does not have an Ethernet connection to network with the 12 so is the NMEA connection the only way to network the 2 units or is there an adapter for the Elite 7 to be able to use the Ethernet cable? Thanks for the help!

Fanatic, Sorry I'm at work and not able to fish the fruit jar. I missed the last one due to illness and was looking forward to getting together with everyone. Thanks for y'all's efforts in getting people together, I hope there's a good turnout and hopefully I can catch the next one.

After Buying A Side Scan.. Do You Catch More Fish?
Side scan doesnt show anything more than down image, only a wider area. If you don't already have down image and have to choose between side image and down image then choose the down image. That will definitely help you catch more fish after you learn how to use it and know what you're looking at/for. Like Wayne P. said, side image just helps to scan an area faster, then after I find something that I want to look at closer, I use down image to see if the fish are there. You can see fish on side image but usually has to be a lot of them bunched in one area to see them well.

Hey Wesley, let us know how you like the Humminbird (or not)after you use it. I'm looking to get something soon and can't decide between the Humminbird and Lowrance. As much as they cost, I don't want to make the wrong choice but it's hard to know without trying it out! I know it's mostly personal choice, they're both good units but with new units out from both of them, I was hoping to get some good feedback to make a choice with.

[Well, I just came back from Toledo this weekend and had my arse handed to me. Fished Mcgee flats, mill and ice box cove, texas islands, buck and indian creek. Never been so humiliated. Bass 1 - Donnie 0] Maybe next time.

I haven't had the pleasure of being in the boat yet but I've got a friend that has been catching consistent 20-25# stringers on Rtraps and square bills, anything red, 6-10 fow on grass lines with wood in the blue lake area from the launch at the end of the road, south to solan's. He's been on em for the last 3 weeks during the warm periods. He has caught stringers on one piece of wood that is right on the grass line more than once.

Mguidroz, thanks for the report! Sure has been some beautiful weather to be on the water but that report sure don't give me much incentive to go try em! LM, I would LOVE to be at the road trip but I hate I'm gonna be at work. Hopefully one of these times I will be able to be off! Y'all have fun, sure wish I could be there!

I'm with Catt on the solunar tables, the best time to fish is when you can! Those tables only work good when the fish are biting. Ha! I've found the bass at night are just as unpredictable as day, they can bite at any given time, you just have to be there.

Don't have any day fishing reports but the night fishing seems to be better from 3 am onwards with the bigger ones better around daylight. Mostly fishing brush piles in or close to deep structure. T rigs or jigs. Still doing ok with frogs in the surface grass/ pads early morning.

[/quoteThat's exactly right!! What fun and satisfaction is it for someone to tell you exactly where to go and do? The way this forum has been presented has helped me understand bass fishing much more than "the whole story"!!!
