  1. You sound very, uh, "angry" about that...
  2. Agreed. Jon Baker was kind of a fuddy-duddy.
  3. UTZ Salt & Vinegar, best tasting chip in the world.
  4. G. Loomis fan boy checking in!!
  5. Both. Literally 99% of my fishing is done on a river and I love fishing it. But I also love fishing a lake the other 1% of the time because it's something totally different than what I'm used to fishing.
  6. X2. I have insulated waders and my buddy does not. In mid-60s water he was freezing after an hour and I couldn't figure out what he was complaining about! This winter when the water is mid-30s he is going to get hypothermia and die... In warm water months I just wade in shorts and tennis shoes and don't use my waders until the water gets colder.
  7. Great picture Pat. I just started noticing that our Upper Potomac crayfish have orange-tipped claws. I've got an orange Spike-It marker on my shopping list for this...
  8. Water can be toxic too... Shhhhh, don't tell the fish!!
  9. Beautiful, thanks for sharing! Your wife's yodel at the end of the song gave me some serious goosebumps.
  10. I was using braid for baitcasting but I switched to fluoro this spring. I started with 12# Invizx and liked the way it handled (I use KVD L&L) but I wasn't crazy about how stretchy it was and in my rocky river I needed something more abrasion resistant. Switched to 12# Abrazx about 2 months ago and have noticed less stretch than Invizx and much more abrasion resistance. And still handles well with the line conditioner.
  11. This has been my experience as well and my only complaint about Gliss. I'm using 24# on a spinning reel and always tie a 3-foot 8# fluoro leader on. The line has been fraying way above the leader, just from running through the rod guides. But I haven't broken off a fish (yet) and the fraying may not be a deal breaker for me. So far it hasn't frayed as bad as Nanofil does and I really like the extra casting distance I get with Gliss over the 10# Sufix 832 I was using before. So for now I'm going to keep using it.
  12. I'm pretty sure that is Hootie's "happy face". Ha-ha.
  13. Welcome to Bass Resource Mike88. If you are here to do more than just advertise products I'm sure you will find lots of helpful information in the forums. But hey, at least you created your post in the correct sub-forum!
  14. I have nothing to add to the whereabouts of smallmouth in SC. But yesterday as I was unhooking my first local LARGEmouth of the year (excluding vacation) I thought about how lucky I am to fish in a river full of smallmouth. I hope you find some!!
  15. Welcome to BR! What part of WV are you from? I'm in the Eastern Panhandle.
  16. Welcome to BR Ian!! (from another "smallies on the Upper Potomac with Loomis and Shimano" member)
  17. Lately I've been rigging them on a 4/0 weighted (3/32 ounce) Owner Twistlock Lite hook.
  18. Glad to hear you caught some fish. I've never had a lot of luck bank fishing the Big Slackwater but you've given me hope to keep trying! To the OP: Sorry for the thread takeover! ;-)
  19. How did you do? I bank fish there occasionally near McMahon's Mill off the new bike path they built. That's also my 7-year old grandson's secret "blue-grill" spot. Shhhhhhhh..... The water level has come up a foot since I fished last Sunday and is going to be a mess by Monday. I'm going to try to fish this weekend if the rain ever lets up, but it doesn't look good.
  20. I can't think of any reason why a baitcaster doesn't work as well in moving water as a spinning rod. I fish a river every weekend and this year I've used a baitcasting rod the majority of the time.
  21. So did the Lindners switch to Big Bite Baits because Trigger X is being discontinued? Or is Trigger X being discontinued because the Lindners switched to Big Bite Baits??? Hmmmmm.......
  22. I saw that too, I fish from Dam 4 to Dam 5 the most as well. Sounds like good news in a couple years!
