Don't you hate it when you're watching a quiet scene in your favorite show, then a commercial comes on and practically blows you out of your chair? Networks like CBS know this practice is bad for business and have installed equipment to keep this from happening on their air when possibleothers will follow suit if it means people are tuning out. But one lawmaker in California isn't satisfied. In fact, she's decided the practice should be made illegal. Do we really need to legislate and regulate everything? Says it for me..........snagging is as sporting as blowing them out of the water with m-80's or cherry bombs. Better to leave the cherry bombs at home and bring the dynamite. No, I'm not kidding. My guess is that you don't know a lot about the danger Asian Carp (Silver & Bighead) pose in the midwest....or have had one of your favorite lakes ruined (read: no more game fish) by an invasive species that reproduces at an alarming rate and eats half its sizable body weight in plankton each day. Here's hoping the electric barriers keep them out of the Great Lakes.

Am I out of line to say bass? I fry up bass fillets and crappie fillets and can't tell them apart. I like Walleye, but seldom catch any. Disclaimer: I only keep small bass out of lakes that have an overabundant population of smaller fish.

I was about to post that "no, St. Croix has it on their site that they're made in the US" but then I realized that they are made in "North America" while all the rods made in the USA they say "USA". Clever St. Croix...clever. Um... Mexico would be Central America, North America would encompass the United States and Canada. That said these rods seam like they are a great buy. Hmmm... last years Citica on sale for $89. plus Mojo equal nice rig for under two bills, Nice! Did somebody move Mexico? I'm pretty sure it's still North America.

Matt's a central Illinois boy, home of the Original March Madness, so I know he's talking HS basketball. "Everybody Plays" is a grammer school mentality. Playing time is earned, not an entitlement. 2 teams get a chance to end the season with a win. 1st place and 3rd place, so you play for the win. No apologies, no excuses. For a basketball team to be great, everybody has to accept their role, for some that means pushing the starters hard in practice then riding the pine during the game. If you do your job, you can always look back on that third place medal with pride, whether your name is in the scorebook or not.

Depends a little bit on the bait. I carry about all sizes of Gammys. Mostly offset shank, mostly extra wide gap. If I'm using a big 10" worm, I'll use a 5/0 hook. If I'm using a 5" Senko, I'll use a 3/0 EWG. I'll go as small as 1/0 when I'm fishing streams for little smallies.

I'm 42 years old, and when I was a little kid my grandma used to turn on Paul Harvey and we'd listen to him in her kitchen. When I went to work full time, his noontime 'visits' were always on in the office. My own kids loved to listen to him on the rides to school. He didn't read the news, he told stories, and what a voice. I take comfort in knowing that he's in a better place, and reuinted with his loving wife who past away not so long ago. I will miss him.

Thanks for all the replies regarding my concerns on durability. Your explanations make sense. The bottom line is that the craws catch fish, so I will continue to use them regardless of how long they last. I may even pick up a pack of lobsters if I can find 'em locally.
