  1. A boy that my 18 year old has been seeing decided to give her a cat. I'm sure he thought it was a great profession of love. What it says to me is Here, feed him, water him, neuter him, declaw him, clean his litter box and try to ignore the smell of cat urine...and if you're lucky he'll be dead in 15 years. I told her she couldn't keep it. Now she hates my guts and promises never to speak to me again. If your girlfriend lives at home and you give her a cat, you deserve a beating.
  2. This guy was the biggest thing in sports who signed multi-million dollar endorsement deals when his star was it's brightest. Then the olympics ended and his sponsors learned that their new spokesman has all the charisma of an Ugly Stick. When he wrapped his lips around that bong, he gave Subway and Kelloggs the out they were looking for. Most 23 year olds can get away with smoking pot at a frat party and few people will notice. I'm sort of amazed that Phelps wasn't smart enough to realize that he is not one of them.
  3. Last year I caught the same 3lb bass twice in the same day, on the same spot, on the same bait.
  4. There is no way on earth I could land that catfish and somehow set up a camera and take a decent picture FROM A KAYAK! You have much skill.
  5. If Lebron had ANY help, I would pick the Cavs. Impressive win for LA last night in Boston without Bynum. But Boston was so impressive in the finals last year that I still see them the favorite to repeat. My dark horse: San Antonio.
  6. Great fish and picture! Stay safe out there.
  7. Wow, I didn't think this post would take this direction. My real problem with this whole situation is that a struggling GM gave away an $85,000 vehicle and got nothing in return. They should have had that Escalade on display where people could drool over it, and hopefully want to actually purchase one. Because of their mounting debt, car makers are too afraid to advertise...but the truth is they need to advertise now more than ever.
  8. Good read. I use the rage-tail products (toad and craw specifically) but struggle to keep the toad upright. I will try a little bow in the belly and see if this helps. My hook choice is the zoom horny toad hook with the screw lock. Don't know if this is adding to my roll over woes.
  9. From Deadspin: Fact: Santonio Holmes made more than $2 million this season. Fact: The federal government just bailed out General Motors to the tune of $9.4 billion. So, why is GM giving Holmes an $85,000 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Platinum, which has been, in effect, purchased by the taxpayers? From the New York Daily News: Breaking from recent tradition, there was no Cadillac on the field Sunday night during the Super Bowl awards ceremony and no Cadillac in the hotel ballroom Monday for the MVP news conference. Usually the MVP marks off on a board which car he wants. There was no board, either. It was all done in private. There was no mention of Cadillac or of Holmes winning the car at the news conference. It was at the request of Cadillac, commissioner Roger Goodell told the Daily News Monday. When asked if Cadillac asked not to be mentioned, he said, "Yes."
  10. '99 Ford Windstar, tinted windows, AM-FM cassette, dual sliding doors. It's a pretty sweet little chick magnet.
  11. Let's all refuse to pay our bill until Glenn fixes the post count.
  12. Too many to name...But my top 3, with destination: 1. Brazilian Peacock Bass 2. Columbia River Sturgeon 3. Costa Rica Tarpon
  13. You people have expensive tastes. BPS for me.
  14. Going to a big pot luck at a buddy's house. Who knows what food will be there. Chilli, wings, and nachos are a pretty safe bet...and plenty of of ice cold beer. If it's like last year I'll eat, drink, lose a bunch of money, and accidentally set a cat on fire (the fluffy ones are really flamable).
  15. WOW! What a finish! Congrats Wake. ;D
  16. The Pflueger President is an outstanding reel for the money.
  17. I agree with the consensus here. Mentally it's a heck of a lot harder to make yourself slow down than it is to speed up.
  18. I am a cheapskate like you. I only use flouro on one rod (mostly used for suspending jerkbaits)...everything else gets Berkley Big Game mono.
  19. It's a shame most comedies do that. Starts off great and stupid for 45 minutes to a hour, then they have to ruin it and get all serious. ;D I think it's called 'Wedding Crashers' syndrome.
  20. A question for you guys who use snaps with your crankbaits: Do you first remove the split rings from the front of the bait?
  21. I drilled 3 holes in my boat to permanently install the TM Mount. No regrets. I've read several reviews on the mount, and most do not like it because of the flex. I think the flex is one of the benefits, but agree that it may take a little getting used to. I've seen other methods, including an L bracket with a small section of 2" x 6" that seems to work just fine as a homemade TM Mount. The shaft is either 28 or 30 inches, I can't remember. It's just a cheap $99 Wal-Mart motor, but it's plenty long enough for a jon boat. No complaints.
  22. I've coached girls bball, soccer, and softball for several years. I've been on the wining and losing side of plenty of blowouts. When you're winning, you put in the end of your bench, you play a 2-1-2 zone, you don't press, double-team, or pressure the ball beyond the 3 point line. On offense, you run your 4 corners, and control the ball...if you create a layup, you take it. You can pack in your defense, you can slow down your offense, but you can't tell the girls on the end of the bench not to play hard. Coaches, even losing coaches, get this. Parents and fans, not so much.
  23. I did this a couple of years back to my motorguide TM. I actually called Motorguide and they faxed directions to my office for flipping the head. Sadly, I can't find what I did with those directions. Still, this is a pretty common modification and I'm guessing the manufacturer could offer some insight if you need it. I did. I also chose to use the TM mount sold at BPS for around $20. At first I hated it because there was so much flex in the mount. After time, and hitting a few stumps, I've learned to like it and no longer notice the flex.
  24. In theory, clear line should be invisible to bass. In practice, clear line turns to white line and is actually more visible--at least to me. That's why I choose green. Trilene 100% flouro seems to stay clear longer than most.
