  1. I use the cheapest bobber stops that Wal-Mart sells. I've also used toothpics. And last, but certainly not least, parasites: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=93399&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
  2. Could be one of 3 things.... 1) You never got a good penetrating hookset to begin with and the fish simply spit out your worm. 2) You didn't keep constant pressure on the fish and it took advantage of a moment of slack line to shake free. 3) You have crappy luck.
  3. I've released several that were bleeding that I hoped survived, but how do you know for certain? I just do my best to get the fish back in the water quickly and hope for the best.
  4. Well done GMAN!
  5. Very well deserved! Excellent essay. Dan
  6. I'll say ditto to the live bluegill trick. You wouldn't catch me throwing a deep diving crankbait from the bank...too many hangups, to hard to retrieve.
  7. If you're just getting into bass fishing, Homer Circle's Bass Wisdom is a great reference to have. If you want an entertaining read, Sowbelly is tough to beat.
  8. This is one reason why I won't buy a rod mail order (the other is shipping costs)... I like to get the feel of a rod before I commit to a purchase.
  9. This is me with Ted Nugent back when I was skinny and had hair. Also got to tour the 'd**n Yankees' tour bus with Tommy Shaw and see the box of panties that women had thrown on the stage during the show.
  10. And it is on a Carrot Stix. ;D Using P-Line. ;D With a 4" *** on the Eagle Claw hook And he only drinks Miller Lite ;D
  11. I appreciate the time and thought behind the changes. Thanks for the update. Dan
  12. Palomar. Easy to tie, incredibly strong.
  13. Good stuff guys. I hope the Duke of Mook drops by once in a while to pay a visit.
  14. PS. You did NOTHING WRONG. You have nothing to hide from your husband, your club, or anybody else. Hold your head high.
  15. I'm glad you reported the guy to the club president. I think you should follow up with the president and find out how he's going to handle this. At the very least this guy needs to be suspended. This behavior is not just wrong, it borders on criminal. For the club to do nothing would be the same as condoning it. On a personal note, I've got 4 daughters who all love to fish and if some lowlife with a boat tried to pull that crap, I would expect them to stand up for themselves and get the guy off the water. The men in the club need to support you on this. If not, then it's not a club worth belonging to.
  16. Here's a 4th option...Tan trucks look clean even when they haven't been washed in a month. Good luck with whatever you choose.
  17. I've never fished a drop shot shallow. I'm curious what others have to say.
  18. When my wife was little she used to chew all the fingers off of her sisters dolls...except for the middle one. ;D
  19. This is about as original a post as I've seen in a long time! Well done
  20. I just pulled up carpet in my basement, it was glued to the floor and a lot of glue was left. I bought a heavy duty floor scraper from Lowes and that scraped up the old dried up stuff in a hurry. I hope I'm not leading you down the wrong path...I would think you'd need to be extra careful using a tool like this on a boat. I tried the acetone as well, and it just seemed to push the glue around like you say. I'm sure it would work...I'm just not that patient.
  21. I can fish and drink beer at the same time.
  22. Well done TF! I'm guilty of laying a bass or 2 down and snapping their picture myself. I'm certain you handled her well and she lived to fight again another day.
  23. Great pix and a beautiful lake. I realize they don't count, but those stripers look alright to me.
  24. I've done almost everything you mention in your post...but never all at once! Tough day, glad it didn't ruin your sense of humor.
  25. That's a tasty looking catfish...Good to see some Missouri boys catching fish.
