  1. I fish that same exact lake! I have been fishing it for years and always see these HUGE bass busting the surface but when I go over they are gone. So I thought about it like you and literaly disected this lake. I got a boat and raked the entire thing with a norman DD22 and I found a cinder block on the bottom next to a small creek channel, all by itself. The block is in 15 foot of water next to this creek channel that leads down from the transition between the riprap and a weedy, shallow flat. This is where all the monster bass play hide and seek all day. The block runs north south parrellel so if you find it, dont tell anyone!
  2. You guys think people getting too close is bad huh? In PA on opening day of trout season, the guys line the lakes shoulder to shoulder close as close can be. I find it hilarious!! Especially when someone catches a fish.. You yell "fish on" and all the guys around you reel in their lines double quick. Watching the "fish on" scramble is always good fun. It isnt always inconsideration. I think most of the time it is just ignorance. Most people genuinly dont know when they are being inconsiderate. To me, a bass fisherman, I want room to fish, water to disect, and room to fish. Trout fishermen (at these trout stocked lakes) dont fish the same way in that they cast out and float some bait, and then relax and talk to all the people within 5 feet of you. So the trout guy who comes down to this giant lake with no one else around and sets up shop literaly 5 feet away is not being inconsiderate, he is just ignorant to the fact that I am bass fishing and trying to cover water, not soak some bait. I have had trout guys cast on the same exact spot I am catching from. In bass fishing, that is not cool, however up in the tributary creeks around erie, when the rainbows and steelies are running, you will see 4,5 guys drifting baits through a pool of fish all lined up casting up stream and letting it drift down, over and over and over..........
  3. sounds good. i had a nut brown beer that had maple syrup in it. it was very good, by far the tastiest brew i have yet to try.
  4. For ps3 there are lag and connection interuptions like crazy! they need to fix it now.
  5. what he said.....and it's Pittsburgh
  6. Crooked creek, loyalhanna, donegal, and keystone state park are all good spots.
  7. Today was my first day back to work after attending the roadtrip. I was bummin all day! I had a great time, and that isn't including any of the fishing we got to do. Not only did I get to meet some of the more famous BassResource.com characters, I got to meet Keri and Glenn, Russ, Scott, Kent, and Gene. Burley, and Jimzee, and Short Mike too. And Big-O, Speedbead, Bud, Senko 77, Cart7...etc.... Way to many names to list them all. Just a great time all around. Everyone was nice to talk to, even Burley. It was over way to quick. I cant wait for next year!
  8. Today was a great day! It was warm and sunny the majority of the day. For the rest of the day it was mostly overcast with a bit of rain. Most caught fish, and some caught some pigs. This will definatly be a trip to remember.
  9. I'm definatley not going to let a little rain ruin my vacation. Plus if Kentucky lake is anything like Erie, the fish bite best with 10 foot swells. THIS IS GONNA BE GREAT!! It sucks a few folks aren't going to be able to make it though.
  10. Done it several times! Works great!!
  11. Glad you got some work, but bummed I won't get to meet you. :'(
  12. It was a good time! Checkout this thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1235951982/12#12 Muddy beat you to the punch. ;D It was also my first time in a BPS. Tons of awesome stuff to look at. I spent $169.95 on lures, but luckily I had $125. in gift cards, so I only spent $45. of my own $$. Definatley a trip to remember.
  13. It's a pretty straight shot. We didn't hit any bad weather, just bad drivers. Tons of cops out today though. We must have seen 4 sitting with radar, and another 5 either driving or in the process of writing out tickets-each way. I had a good time. Just wish it wouldn't have been over so quick. Joe had to go home and sell purses or something like that. No, Im grateful Joe didn't mind dragging me along. I probably wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for him driving. So thanks again Joe!!
  14. hmmmmm....... I see you ommitted the pic with Wayne "waving". Do you guys have any idea how hard it was for me NOT to put bunny ears up behind Dom?
  15. Ah good times.. It is odd putting a face with the screen names. Some of the guys have their pics for their avatar, but it is different when you see them face to face. I knew Dom right away. He just looked like a mook! ;D
  16. I think he is talking about using them to catch fish, not just tieing on to look shiny. ;D
  17. It isn't a fight in the sense that you mean it, but it was definatley a fight and it was with a fish. Years ago as an assistant scoutmaster, I was watching one of the other adults teaching some of the boys how to clean a fish. The kids as per their fishing merit badge, had to catch, kill, gut, cook and eat part of a fish. Well this one kid had named his fish. When it came time to kill it, he started balling. He didn't want to kill his new friend. I remember the other scoutmaster talking this kid through the process of how to brain a fish, the kid choking on tears the whole time. Finally the kid gives the fish a whack and I swear this kid was some how linked with this fish because the kid is snotting and balling like he just got hit himself. And if that wasn't bad enough, you should have seen him eating a bite of the fish. It wasn't pretty. He did it though. He got through it and earned the badge.

  19. I am coming from Pa and plan on around $1000.00 Hopefully less though!
  20. Im with ya! Im getting better though. Last Thursday evening it really hit me. Friday, and Saturday I thought my head was going to explode. I kept getting chills, so I'd bundle up and still be cold. 20 minutes later I would be way overheated. Sunday I felt better, but my eyeballs still hurt. I made the mistake of taking Nyquil Liquicaps around 9pm after I got home from work. I feel asleep before I could watch the classic at 10! Monday night I woke up a few times and was totally drenched. I felt better the next day, and feel I get a bit better each day.

  22. I like Picasso jigs. I may be wrong, but I think a banded skirt is a small rubberband used to hold the skirt on. A wire tie is a small piece of wire and is hand wound around the skirt, holding it to the jig.
