Problem Casting With New Rod
I know with my STX I had to back off of both the magnetic and centrifugal brakes to get any decent casting distance out of it. Once you are comfortable casting without getting backlashes try to back it down to 2 centrifugal brakes.

Fish Attractants
I like JJ's and Megastrike. Do they work? Well, for me they do.

Help With Jigs
It's not the best of setups for jig fishing, especially if you are using a jig with a weed guard. While spinning setups certainly work for jig fishing; most on here will tell you that a heavier jig with a trailer (like what you're using) is baitcaster territory. To pull the hook through the fish you will need a stronger line with less stretch. I prefer to use straight 50 lb braid for murky and stained water or 50 lb braid with a 12-14 lb fluoro leader for clear water. Again, that is with a baitcast reel. Is your current setup keeping you from getting bites? Probably not, but if you do get one it wil make it more difficult to land the fish.

What Hooks For Rage Rig
I use Owner Twistlock hooks when I am Rage Righing them. But as has been said, you don't have to Rage Rig a Rage Tail bait. Similarly to Andrew, I also T-rig them the majority of the time that I fish them.
-
Rage Craws
They probably aren't any more durable than what you usually use, but I guarantee you that the action of the RT craw will be better. The lower quantity and higher price kept me from trying them for a little bit; but I don't have any other craws in my tackle bag anymore.

Lures For Cattails
I would throw either a 1/2oz jig with a trailer or a weighted (and pegged) T-rig with something like a Craw or Bug on it.

Benefits Of Spinning Over Casting For Shaky Head?
Typically what I have seen is that if a pro has to pull out a worm, then it is finesse time because larger baits aren't working too well. Doesn't necessarily mean greater numbers.

When You Miss A Fish
Continue the retrieve, maybe a tad more erratic. If it doesn't draw another strike then I'll toss a Senko or RT Cut-R back to where the fish missed the first time.

Impressions Of The Rage Bug
I haven't gone a single trip since I received mine that I haven't caught a fish on one. Maybe it's a confidence thing.

Impressions Of The Rage Bug
You can fish it pretty much however you want. I've had success hopping it back, dragging it slowly along the bottom, even a straight retrieve back.

Soft Plastic Set Up
When I fish out at the family resort in Mn I always kill the smallies on a drop shot with a Roboworm.

Question About Selling Items From A Sponsor?
I'm not a sponsored angler, but I am sponsored shooting. If I am looking to sell a gun or accessory that was given to me then I will first asky sponsor if they would like the item back or if they have any reservations about me selling it.

Inexperienced Baitcaster Buyer
If those are your only 2 options then the PQ would be the easy choice for me. A 6.4:1 gear ratio would be a good all-around options for whatever you want to throw. For the rod, I would choose a 6'6" Med Heavy power, Fast action.
