  1. holy crap! i need to get to work on mine it looks like.
  2. 24" didn't get to weigh her, but i guessed near 8 pounds. silver fluke on a weighted hook 20 minutes before a storm rolled in, i took my canoe out on buddies pond, that was my fifth cast. she jumped 4 times and my heart stopped every dang time. swam away looking strong!
  3. You guys should check out the costa del mar geobass videos. Fly fishing for bass down in Mexico.
  4. Lake blalock near me has some carp that don't get fished much and feed regularly on top. I've been meaning to try hooking a few. Also found some large redeye last time I fished the chatooga. The local guys said they are hard to fool on the fly rod, gotta be real stealthy.
  5. love golf course ponds, hate those sunglasses
  6. my largest this year (ignore those baitcasters in the background) also caught some nice bream and a channel cat this year on my flyrod
  7. i fish a pond like this often. much of it is 3-4' with grass and algae. weightless soft plastics and occasionally top water during spring and fall. fish early in the morning and late in the evening.
  8. i fish a t rig pretty fast at times. if i know some piece of cover/structure and know fish are usually around it i'll cast past it and work through with my t-rig. if nothing hits i reel back in and try a few more times from another angle.
  9. try fly fishing, i never have any trouble with gutting trout.
  10. so where did you catch these. i may have to steal a spot...
  11. 12' deep in a 3 acre pond, pond it full of timber and a big fish. dragging a zoom junebug/chartreuse trick worm(1/8 oz split shot above the worm) over the timber.
  12. I guess they made it past the Lake Blalock dam to this section. ** had to edit used the wrong spelling of dam
  13. cell phone pic and then upload or create a url using imgur. they have a smartphone app.
  14. i promised myself i was going to take a night off. just left for lunch and came back with my canoe tied on top of my car and four rods packed up. i guess im hooked
  15. private pond in south carolina i fish sometimes. measured 27" long
  16. I'm surprised you can find room to cast around all the jet skiers, wake boarders, and pontoons!
  17. You just described 90% of my bass fishing trips this year.
  18. I went out the other day to the same spot(no pun intended) and probably caught a dozen little guys. Had a 2lbr come out and smash one of the little guys I was reeling in. Made me sad I couldn't draw any of them out. I ended up breaking out the ultralight and flyrod and had some fun with the little boys and pumpkinseeds in the section.
  19. my favorite places to fish always seem to produce more at dawn. that being said my life only allows me to fish at dusk
  20. my first instinct was to pitch baits down stream and work them back like streamers when youre flyfishing. upstream it is though. i've got some rage craws iirc, i'm gonna go back tonight.
  21. i used a squarebill and eventually lost that and broke the lip on another. which is really random, but they were drawing strikes for sure. i had a football tied on and i tried it, but it didn't make 4 casts before it got stuck. will try a few other styles. the thing im not sure about is how to cast at the rocks, downstream, upstream, from the side, etc. i know most fish position themselves in the slack water behind rocks, but does it matter what direction im throwing?
  22. that's what i figured, i caught a few redeyes(as i call them) out of the river too. really would like some input on getting around these rocks with jigs.
