You know I didn't think about the water at Olathe being fairly torn up. After having a tough tournament on Wilson and then a rough go at the Dotte I'm just ready to get on some fish haha. Maybe I'll just go fish the local farm pond and clean up. Nothing cures a bad trip than catching 30 in 2 hours...even if they arent huge lol.

Haha the one I caught out there last night that was close.....my buddy asked if I brought the fish stretcher haha. You're right about the fishing pressure as there are WAY too many people who meat hunt that lake. Last year I watched a guy next to me while I was catfishing on the bank catch a nice 3 pound largemouth on a worm and toss it into the cooler. It took almost everything I had to not saying anything. I was throwing a green pumpkin shakey head last night. I rarely throw anything other than finesse baits out there which kind of blows. I feel way more comfortable with a jig or big worm in my hand than my spinning rod any day! I'll still fish out there since it is so close to where I live, but I've got to start mixing it up. Anyone know if Olathe Lake has turned on at all? I'd like to make a trip to somewhere this weekend where I can at least have a shot at a decent fish!

The good thing is I live in Wyandotte County so the fees are too bad.....I guess I can justify it since I live less than 5 minutes from the boat ramp.

I met one guy in there who told me his profile picture was a beer......I'm in there enough that I wouldnt doubt that I ran into you. So I fished the Wednesday night tournament at Wyandotte last night. Holy smokes that lake is tough! I fish it regularly, and always seem to scratch out a few bites, but out of 13 boats only 1 fish was weighed in. I did catch one that was about a half inch from measuring.

Yea that was me as well....considering I only posted about 2 times before losing my password to my account I decided I was still considered "new." That over a year ago...good memory!

I've decided to break up with bass fishing for a trip or two and fish for crappie....havent fished Wyco much for them as I just recently got myself into a boat. Is there a decent population in there?

I live 5 minutes from the lake and fished it two nights ago when the cold front came through. Believe it or not it wasn't terrible out there....we didn't do too bad on smallmouth. Only 1 keeper, but when I'm fun fishing I just want to have that tug on the line haha. I wonder how many boats will show up.

Hey fellas I'm new to the forum on here and wanted to say hello. I've kept up with the postings for a month or two and finally decided to join....any of you guys fish the Kansas Buddy Bass tournaments? I fish the buddy side and am wondering if there is anyone on here I might know. Also I'm good friends with Raymond at Mondo Tackle so I'd lay odds I've ran into a few of you in there.
