Blue Basser also check out reel deal adventures. He is a guide on foot that I'm assuming has prices a lot lower then on a boat. He specializes in peas

Saturday 3/7/15 L29
Took out the boat on l29 with a buddy from homestead Hawg hunters club from 6:30 am to 2pm. We had an overcast almost the whole day with some wind. We started fishing right off the ramp north. I wanted to start using baits I don't typically use so I stuck with a floating jerkbait and swimbaits for a good amount of the day and landed a few fish. There was some good top water action in the morning but died down as the day warmed up. We were able to catch a few on frogs, floating jerk bait, and spook. As the day went on we took a ride to the southern end of the bridge and let the wind take us north. I switched back to my confidence baits of soft plastics. I was able to land a good amount of fish with some trick worms and stick baits on the drop off. We saw a bunch of beds under the bridge but kept on catching mudfish so we moved back to the drop off. Overall we caught between 25 to 30 fish. Would have probably been a good amount more if I wasn't trying baits I'm not to familiar with: most fish were between 1 to 3 pounds.

Feb 14, Alligator Alley Report
I've seen canoes in sawgrass comming out of the flats. I wouldn't do it in the alley.

March Peacock Bassin
Really a stick worm? Wow and here I thought they wouldn't hit plastics.

First Tournament
Don't worry I'm the same way you will just get the feel for it. Just be respectful and be yourself. Typically if your catching fish even the ones that don't talk get chatty with excitement. It's just when your grinding where you have to feel them out. Also if you never backed a trailer make sure you let them know. I never backed a trailer and some boaters just let me learn while others would just prefer to do it themselves.

Holiday Park
This is my first season fishing holiday park with a boat. Has anyone been out there lately that can share any advice? Very new to this body of water but do fish the other canals pretty regularly now. are the fish still up in the flats?

First Tournament
Not sure how early you are going out but if it's before sunrise get yourself a flashlight that clips on your hat. I joined my local club last year and the boaters have been awesome. Anything I didn't have they lent me, even a particular set up or bait. Every boater is different, some like to chat and some don't just be respectful to their style of fishing.

South Florida Canal

Miami/ft.lauderdale Area
i would suggest trying to look for resorts or hotels near Hollywood beach. There is about 2 miles of Boardwalk style walking up and down the beach and should be less expensive then in south beach. Also more relaxing, unless you are interested in experiencing the south beach nightlife which in that case staying in brickell or south beach would be your best bet. As for fishing, hookdup is right you can do all sorts of fishing down here just depends what you want to do. Captain Shane on the forums targets the peas and bass from a boat. Reeldealadventures also targets peas and snakes but bank fishing. For inshore fishing I would recommend taking a trip to flamingo park. It's a full day but it's well worth the trip to Florida salteater Everglades where you can catch snooks, reds, and tarpons. Miami inshore fishig is a local captain that specializes in flamingo. He can also take you to do some inshore in biscayne bay which is a lot closer.

Sunday 2/8/15 Sawgrass
Fishes the sawgrass with two other members of my local club homestead Hawg hunters. We launched 4 miles north of the oaek on us 27 and fished the canal south of the ramp, went into the flats, and then fishes the canal north back towards the ramp. We were out there from 7 am to 6 pm and the action was steady. Most fish between 1 to 3 pounds and caught mostly on stick baits. We did get a few with swimbaits in the flats. Overall it was an awesome time!

Everglades Fishing Report
Sunday 2/1 Alligator Alley 9 am to 2pm mile marker 35. Temperature 66 to 70 and water temperature still cold. Had a slight overcast the entire day. Fished with friend from the hawg hunters. Fished the alley west after seeing geog report last week and the action was the same. We got a late morning start to the day but started catching them in the pads around 10:30 am. All the fish were dinks measuring around 10 to 11 inches. We lost a few larger ones in the pads. The action was constant until around noon and the bite slowed a little. Ended the day with a little over 20 fish on the boat. Caught all of mine with flukes and stick baits. My buddy lost a nice healthy fish on a jig but lost it right next to the boat. Overall very fun day. Might bring the lady with me next week to catch some more.

Goliath Grouper
Take a trip down to fort Myers or sanibel area. There should be several guides there. They are great fish to see come up.

Everglades Fishing Report
Sunday 1/25/15 sawgrass off us 27. Homestead Hawg hunter club tournament 6 am to 2pm. I fished as a co angler. Weather was around 50 degrees in the morning, water was clear, and clear blue skies. The morning started out slow and picked up as the day got warmer. I got a total of 10 bites, 6 fish landed, 4 were keepers and weighed in a total of 7.53 pounds. 13.99 won the tournament. Soft plastics was what produced for me. Junebug and watermelon colors fished very slow. Overall had a great time on the water. Sawgrass park is quite relaxing.
