  1. I love 50s rock and roll I just wish more people listened to it now a days...
  2. Now that's what you call a reaction strike! He ran that thing really fast over that bass but it had some accuracy haha that's a sweet video
  3. The regular sized original Zara spook is what I started with and still use alot
  4. Thanks alot man, had a little luck with it and wanted more.
  5. Any of you guys know what lure this is? Thought looked like something made by zoom but ive been browsing and dont see them..
  6. Yup I'd try some square bills if you find some shallow cover! Don't worry to much about color because any will catch fish but natural colors are the popular choice for clear water
  7. I just use a pair of schoolworks kids scissors haha
  8. In my local lake that isn't known for big bass (although plenty of huge bass are there) I use them when nothing is biting and I'm trying to get that one fish that makes the whole day worth it!
  9. a little drag got pulled... I think it was just meant to be lost haha I was gonna try to just Hercules him in the boat but as soon as I started to lift him out of the water he was off
  10. Well the fish I lost I felt him tapping my worm under the boat and set the hook but pulled it right out of his mouth, I flipped it back directly below the boat and he took it again but I lost em...
  11. I was looking for a new cranking rod and posted this maybe you can give it a quick look http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/140283-budget-crankbait-rod-20-75-suggestions/page-2#entry1561304
  12. I don't really know about 50-60 but Berkley makes a good rod called the berkley cherrywood, I believe they come in 6'6 medium and 7'0 medium-heavy, they also make spinning rods but I'm taking a wild guess your wanting a casting rod because you didn't specify which you want. These rods are 25$ but I have gotten them as low as 5-15$ on sale
  13. I've never had a problem with super slick braid digging into a backing or itself all the way down to 20lb when cranking with the drag set, however if your drag is up and you pull on it the braid will dig in. It seems like with cranking it packs the braid on tight and you can get away with lower sized braid but I dunno maybe that's all in my head. That's with PP super slick though, dunno bout other brands
  14. That would make sense, didn't know they did that though.
  15. I have seen this... Its pretty freaking cool haha
  16. What do you guys do when a fish bites your lure right at the boat just feet away? It happens to me with bass but yesterday I lost what was probably the biggest bowfin I've ever had on my line because he bite my lure just feet from the boat, I set the hook and had him hooked and tryed to keep pressure but he gator rolled like they do an threw it out....
  17. Yup their prices can be high but like already mentioned they have a good price match policy!
  18. Ahh, okay thanks man
  19. Is there a difference between a bladed swimbait and a chatterbait or is it the same thing?
  20. If you do end up putting a leader on make sure its a strong enough one to fish the pads... Don't get 50lb braid then wimp out on the leader. i personally don't worry about leaders in cover like pads unless I'm not getting bit at all....
  21. Exactly what I was about to post...
  22. Same, caught some speckled perch on it, but I don't think I've caught any bass with it.
  23. I've started using swim jigs but literally the only trailer I've caught fish on is the rage craw if I put anything else on I lose confidence and can't boat any fish lol What are some good trailers y'all like on the cheaper side?
  24. I see a lot of people using light wire hooks and saying that everyone should use them because the hook sets can be so much easier and yadda yadda, I was just wondering how many of you guys actually use them. Most of my fishing is done with ethier braid in the 30-50lb range or FC in the 12-14 lb range so I don't use light wire much. However on my light spinning setups with really small braid or FC I'll throw on a light wire hook.
  25. Don't try one retrieve then give up, try multiple retrieves at different speeds until you find what works best...
