What's your favorite rig for cat fishing? I like the good ole slip sinker rig!

I mainly wanna focus on catching largemouth but if I get some small mouth that will be a bonus haha! I do wanna catch at least one swannee bass because I have heard of them before but never caught one.

I'm assuming you meant "don't leave the house without" haha I guess a lot of people do still love spoons! I like fishing them in winter deep maybe I just need to get better at it.

What color spinnerbaits would y'all throw in rivers that are muddy and very low visibility, maybe a white or chartreuse one? And what trailer do you guys like? Can I use a tube or a swim bait as a trailer, and for rivers do you guys prefer a 3/8 or 1/2 ounce or does it depend on the current? Sorry that's a lot of questions

I bought some Johnson spoons awhile back and started using them and yeah I caught fish and its fun and all but it seems like there is always something that produces better than a spoon on any day. I'm not going to go out and act like I've mastered spoons because that would be a lie but I still can catch fish with them. Does anyone still like to use spoons a lot?

That's intresting, I wonder why smallmouth would like fast water more than largemouth.

Do bass like fast water or slow water or both? Like if there is a really swift current will bass try to hold close to the bank and structure to get out of the current? Edit: sorry typed this before seeing your post KY

I've fished rivers but maybe once or twice a year and I'm not very good at it. Can anyone give me some pointers because I'm going camping by the Suwannee river for a weekend and I was gonna fish quite a bit from the bank.

Just make sure the hook is at least twice as wide as the bait and you'll be fine

What brand shaky heads should I get? I fish lakes with a pretty good amount of grass and I'm a novice when it comes to shaky heads. Just shoot some brand names by me and I'll check em out

Alright thanks, I was gonna order some crankbaits.

Ive never ordered anything from tackle warehouse, I was just wondering if their lures come with treble hooks. Some of the products show treble hooks in the pictures and some don't. So do some come with hooks and some don't? Like crankbaits, plugs, jerkbaits, stuff like that

I've used the mojo rig before but haven't in awhile I'll try it again

Most people I see using the Carolina rig are using it in water that is 8+ feet deep, the lake I fish averages at 5 feet deep with the deepest part being 12-15. Can the Carolina rig still be as effective as other lures at 6 or less feet deep or should I just focus on other techniques and rigs? Also if you guys do use it in shallower water what length leader and what weight works best for shallower C-rigging?

I bought two 15ft bream buster poles from Walmart yesterday and I like them.

I've never bought new treble hooks for my lures I've just always sharpened them. Well a lot of my lures are hookless so I decided I'd go pick a pack up but what I was wondering is, if I put a different size on the lure than the one that came with it will it throw the action off? Also one off topic Q, has anyone tried putting a trailer hook on a crankbait?

I lost my last moaner hook yesterday and didn't want to stop using the rage rig for the time it took to order more. When I said it was fun I was being silly of course buying the hooks designed for this will produce more fish and be of better quality.
