How To Make Your Own Rage Rig!
Yeah any weight works, its trial and error because it wont fall horizontally if its off just a little. You don't need a lot of metal ethier in the picture I wrapped a lot just so the camera could see it. I dunno if it saves money I just thought it was neat and its something I did for fun, thought I'd share it with you guys

How To Make Your Own Rage Rig!
Get one of those EWG hooks with the screw at the top and a weight used to balance tires. Flatten out the weight with a hammer and cut a piece off and wrap it around the bend of the hook then place super glue or electric tape on the weight to keep it from sliding up and down the hook. Doing this you can customize the amount of weight you want on your hook. To rig it just screw the top into your craw or whatever and then rig it just like a Texas rig but with the hook point sticking out the top of the bait. Sorry in the picture I didn't have any screw on hooks, you can't do this with a normal hook because you won't be able to rig it right, that was just an example. I prefer wrapping the weight with a piece of electric tape to make it snag less and not pick up random junk from under the water.

Best Crankbaits?
H20 express makes some good squarebill cranks, you can order them online if you don't have a local academy sports and outdoors, they come in a bunch of good colors.

Tossing Good Lures
One day I was fishing at a pond that's about 50 yards across, I was talking to some while tying on crankbait and forgot to pull it tight and cast it, the knot came undone but luckly it flew across the pond and landed on the bank 50 yards away lol

I Lost My Favorite Crankbait
Well I didn't get it :/ I tried for awhile and then almost got bit by a snake so I called it quits... I came up out of the water and it was like 3 feet from me. It scared the living crap outta me. It rained not to long ago and the water was really muddy and hard to see through

7 Inch Vs 10 Inch Worms
I like the zoom ol monster as well, very good lure

7 Inch Vs 10 Inch Worms
You generally fish ribbon tails the same as other worm lures, I just like them on those days I feel the bass want a little more movement in the lure.

Texas Rig?
Braid has bad abrasion resistance I like thick mono for rocky areas EDIT: well not "bad" abrasion resistance its just not as good as mono IMO, it can take a lot more abuse than braid.
-
Braid Vs Leader Diameter
For small diameter lines like 20lb braid or 6lb mono I'll use a uni to uni but for anything heavier I use an albright knot.

Fishing A Top Water Hollow Body Frog
I would never use a leader for any top water bait...

I Lost My Favorite Crankbait
I cant remember for the life of me what the brand was... I have some more at another persons house (different color) in a tackle box I forgot there ill look and figure out the brand because im going up there later the house is down the road from the pond. I remember looking them up before and not being able to find the company, I'm assuming it went out of business or something. yeah the only thing I would get scared of is having one of these big treble hooks get caught on frabic or my flesh... Edit: maybe it started with an H... I think it might have been something like Harley or hurley, but I might be confusing that with some other tackle company's products I own

7 Inch Vs 10 Inch Worms
I use the 12" power worms from Berkley with a 6/0 EWG hook and I've got tons of bass on them. I use them the most during the really hot summer days though. I believe it does result in less fish but bigger fish. But as in less fish I don't mean your only gonna catch 5lb+ bass on them ive caught plenty of 2lb bass on 12' worms

Texas Rig?
I have used the 6" ones with success too but i havent used that color before but im sure you can catch some bass with it!
-
Texas Rig?
My favorite way to use the texas rig is with those berkely powerbait power worms that are 12" long and a 6/0 EWG hook! My favorite colors would have to be yellow, green pumpkin, and junebug.

Lure Suggestions
If you not fishing really thick stuff a MH rod should be fine, but id definatly pick up a Heavy rod for punching matted grass and pulling lunkers out of the slop.

Texas Rig?
I love texas rigging zoom trick worms in the lake I fish, the weight you use will change depending on how deep your fishing and what kind of cover your fishing but one tip is too use the lightest weight you can get away with and dont be afraid to use a texas rig weightless! The way i do it is just toss my lure where i want it and let it fall to the bottom on a slack line, then I just hop it along the bottom by raising my rod tip then lowering it again letting the bait fall back. Most of the time i fish a texas rig pretty slow but on occasions with the bite is really good you can get away with speeding up. Also its not only good for worm type lures, you can use it with creature baits, craws and every thing in between...
