  1. You guys don't know that years ago Wayne bought this big rubber bass with a flexible wire frame and pockets you can put water in to change the size. He's been taking pictures of himself and that rubber fish for years. LOL
  2. My green is 10lb and my white is 12lb. That's how I remember which one is which. LOL Ronnie
  3. We kind of go through this every year. All of the East coast guys want to go to Erie, Champlain, Lake George, etc. and the FL guys want to go to Okachhobie, Stick Marsh, etc. I would love it if the Road trip were in my back yard, so I would be all over a trip in the NE somewhere. The fact of the matter is, we have members coming form both coasts and everywhere in between. So the fair thing to do is what we have been doing. The TN River chain of lakes is a world class fishery and is centrally located so everyone has a chance to attend from all over the country. I have never traveled less than a 1000 miles to attend a road trip and have only missed one, but if I had to travel to CA (obviously some big bass there) it would be out of reach. I rode my motorcycle 2300 miles (round trip) this year because I couldn't afford the fuel for the BassBus and it worked out OK. Also, most of us can fish our local waters any time we want, so the RT is an opportunity to try some new water. As much as I want everyone to come to MY place for dinner and fish in MY lake, I know it's not fair to those on the West side of the country to insist on it. I think we can look forward to meeting and fishing in the central part of the country. I caught more fish on this last RT than on any other and it keeps getting better. Just don't be disappointed if it's not in your home state. Lastly, start making your plans now for next year. Find or bring some buddies to help with the travel & lodging expenses. Plan some of your vacation time. You won't regret it. IMHO. See you next year! 2014 NO EXCUSES! Ronnie

  6. Heading out in the morning. Gonna try to make it to Knoxville tomorrow night and get to Pickwick midday on Wednesday. Stop telling me about the 100 fish days or I might try to ride all night. Keep that bite going til I get there. Sorry you're having trouble with your truck Mike. I would come by and pick you up, but I'll be on the motorcycle. Good luck getting your truck fixed. See you at Pickwick. Ronnie

  10. I wasn't picking on you. The "no excuses" thing is a running joke around here. Sorry I didn't pay attention to your post count to see that you are kind of new on the forms. Welcome to the best bass fishing site on the net. You sound like you are on the right track. We will see you at a future Road Trip and dinner is on me. Ronnie

  15. I am a Licenced Land Surveyor and measuring distances is my business. Everyone, and I mean everyone, believes they can accurately measure distances with their "eyeball". The reality is that almost no one can. When I first moved to NJ I was required to take NJ's hunter safety course to get a bow hunting licence. On the 3D course, everyone was given a card to write down their estimated distance to 10 targets at various distances along the course. The result was very telling. All distances were less than 40 yards (the effective range of a hunting bow). Out of 10 participants, no one was correct on any of the distances within 5 feet and only once did 2 out of the ten agree on the estimated distance. This was quite a humbling experience for all and especially me "an expert at measuring". In fairness to the participants, the targets were purposely arranged on pretty steep slopes and the purpose of the exersize was to show us that we will usually misjudge the distance somewhat. BTW almost all distance estimates were too long. And as to the casting distance champions. The equipment they use can't be fairly compared to what most of us fish with. I don't have any rods over 12 feet long in my box and very few 6 ounce lures. JMHO Ronnie
  16. If you need a Seibert jig to participate in the contest, I can hook you up. Ronnie
  17. The best I've ever fished is my Shimano Calcutta TE 250 DC, but I have 5 - 50Mgs and I fish with them the most by far. Ronnie
  18. Nothing is more space efficient than good ole Plano boxes. I keep everything, even tools in them. I carry a lot of stuff in relatively small bags..... Ronnie
  19. We have seen quite a bit of "bait sharing" over the years. It's alway been kind of informal. Most of us have way more than we need to fish with. I am one of the worst bait collectors on the planet, but if we happen upon a magic bait that's killin em, we will have plenty to go around. Ronnie
  20. Then we will fish! Sounds great! Ronnie
