How many people have fished with other people on Bass Resource?
My memory will likely fail me, but here goes: Glen & Keri, Roadwarrior, Wayne Campbell, Low Budget Hooker, Muddy Man, Ron, Long Mike, Fishing Daddy, Cigar Smoker, Art Paisley, Lund Explorer, Fishing Rhino, Riskkid, BassinChris, Flechero, Big-O. I know there are others, but my old timers won't let me remember.

a new stick for Roadwarrior
Doing great Gary, I have been turning resin stock for shaving brush handles. I have found the key to turning resin and some hardwoods is keep the belt sander running and sharpen, sharpen, sharpen. LOL I also have been using round stock to avoid having to cut the corners off of square stuff, but its hard to find longer lengths.

Tips on shipping rods
I used a 3" schedule 40 PVC pipe for a shipping case which added a lot of weight. He had over 300 bucks in parts, I wasn't going to let UPS destroy it in transit. LOL

Tips on shipping rods
I built a swimbait rod for Jay in CA. 8 1/2 feet long and over $60 to ship coast to coast. That was about 8 or 9 years ago.

Tips on shipping rods
When you go over 7' the price skyrockets.

Looking At Two Rod Blanks
My first build was a 6wt fly rod. Gave it to a friend.

Line For Flipping
12lb YoZuri Ultra Soft. I have pulled my boat up on the bank trying to break it off.

Two Bassresource.com Road Trips In 2016?
Really sorry to hear about your wife's health issues Mike and, of course, caring for her is top priority. Praying for her quick and complete recovery. You will be missed for sure. There will be lots of fishing trips.

Knots
An opposing nail knot is the smallest diameter, smoothest knot for leader connections and it doesn't care about differing diameter lines. I use a tying tool. Its a hassle to tie, but it casts easily and has nearly 100% knot strength. I use it mostly for tying tippets to fly line, but its the best way to join two lines. IMHO Here's a video https://youtu.be/611JWRtkjOc

Baitcaster Line Twist
I wonder if what you have is more coiling memory than line twist. Given the same circumstances, Power Pro shouldn't twist any less than Samarui. I would try a heavier braid, maybe 50lb instead of 20. Very light braid has more memory issues than heavier test. That's all I can figfure. I use 50lb PP on several reels and have never had any twist issues, but it will get tangled with itself in the memory coils.

Baitcasting Rod Guides
Absolutely no dicsernable difference in casting. Less friction due to fewer guides. When you finally hook a large fish, you see the advantage right away.

Baitcasting Rod Guides
Spiral wrapped is the term I use. The idea is to have the line pull from the bottom of the rod (like a spinning rod) when under a load (fighting a fish) to eleiminate the tendency for the rod to turn over (reel wants to go down). All of my baitcasting rods are spiral wrapped as I made them myself. They are very common in custom rods.

Too Much Tackle?
I realize you can have too much tackle, but I haven't gotten there yet.

Teach Me To "finesse"
Its hard to have the patience that a bass has. LOL Try dead sticking, leave your bait as still as you can, for as long as you can. A finesse worm or creature bait has a slow action in the water with no input from the angler. 10-15 minutes in one spot can sometimes get you a bite when nothing else will.

Jig Trailer
No Catt, just a clever look alike. I've been around, just been up to my neck in life. Things should settle down pretty soon. Going to fish more this year, no matter what. Hope you are doing well friend.

Jig Trailer
I used to use pork trailers exclusively and there was a time when they were far superior to any plastic. In the last several years makers of plastic baits have improved them to the point that pork isn't worth the hassle anymore. Got rid of all my Uncle Josh baits and haven't looked back.

Ribbon Tail Worm
Ribbon tail worms (Culprit are my favorites) are a real confidence bait for me. They can be fished in almost any conditions, structure & cover. It's rare that I can't coax a bite with one. Don't get stuck with a Texas rig, you can C-rig them, drop shot, weightless in shallow cover. I even use small worms for spinnerbait and jig trailers although I cut off the front 1/2 for some of these rigs. Use your imagination and you can show the fish something new.
