  1. Rage Craw w/1/2 oz pegged bullet.
  2. Old school "Hula Popper" and "Skitter Pop" are my favorites.
  3. This was actually Guntersville, but still an impressive bass!
  4. That was the funny part. It took five people to land this one. 2 from the dock and 3 in the boat. Kent hooked this 8 1/2 lb bass with an ultralight rig with 4 lb test line. It was a tense moment, but yea, credit where it's due, Glenn was holding the net. What a day!
  5. I had the pleasure of fishing with Kent on Picwick, Guntersville and Kentucky Lake in years past. Always a great time. I docked the boat to go grab a sandwich and he caught the big bass of the week from the dock. Great memories.
  6. I hate the $$$cost of fishing gear. Boats, tackle, licenses, etc. I am blessed to have collected some nice stuff over the years that will last the rest of my life. I was thinking about youngsters who are just getting into it. 25 years ago you could buy a fully rigged bass boat for what a 40hp tiller motor costs today. With the high cost of nearly everything, teen agers will be stuck on the bank. Nothing wrong with bank fishing, but I remember when I dreamed of fishing the whole lake.
  7. Goose control is a big dollar business where I lived in NJ. A guy down the street from me has a business called "Geese Police" and makes a fortune. He uses predator recordings and border collies with plywood silhouettes of dogs to discourage goose parking. There is a hunting season, but its illegal for property owners to harass them otherwise.
  8. I have a couple of spinning rigs, but rarely use them. Skipping under docks and live bait fishing mostly.
  9. You can get a whopper/bigmac, etc. for around $5 or $6. If you want a hamburger in a sit down restaurant $15-20, for a hamburger. We are eating out less and less.
  10. He may have reacted poorly when we were strangers, but after a year of relationship building, I felt pretty safe and was welcomed to the lake. BTW, death defying courage is not one of my character traits. LOL ?
  11. 1982 in Amite Louisiana I was working on 500KV power transmission line across the state. It was the biggest in the US at the time. We passed this guys property every day. He had a beautiful small lake. I stopped and asked to fish it sometime. He exploded and threatened to shoot, call police, etc. if we were caught there. He also noticed my company's survey truck I was driving and was very curious about what was happening with the power line. Long story short, we stopped by about once a week to update him on the power line & chew the fat and I learned in passing that he was fond of cheese crackers and Mountain Dew. We continued to stop by about once a week and would happen to have a cold Mountain Dew and some cheese crackers. It took almost a year to convince the old man to let us fish his pond. I caught my PB in that little lake and I still haven't beat it 40 years later. Better to call a truce than win the war sometimes.
  12. Excellent!
  13. Anymore I keep a wacky rigged senko knock off on an extra rod for a follow up throw after a missed hit, but I never post it on FB. ?
  14. I am totally against this technological sorcery! What's next electro generators, explosives? If you have an ethical bone in your body, you should immediately send these evil gadgets to me so I can dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner. I'll PM my address to interested parties.
  15. This blasphemy! Chili without beans is chili! With beans it's chili WITH beans! Words have meaning. I agree with the TP position. BTW ?
  16. My wife has a Shield EZ 9. It's a great gun, but I don't like the grip safety. I have a hard time completely pressing the grip and get some FTF. My wife likes it though.
  17. I haven't seen real flor grade cork in years. I have bought so called flor cork and always been disappointed. If you want to see what it looks like see a high end 'Sage' or 'Thomas & Thomas' fly rod. I use U40 on everything.
  18. I am sure I have over 50, but you would have to count rod blanks I haven't built yet. I have a whole bunch of them. Hard to count, some in my truck, some in the boat, the rest in the workshop. Probably only a dozen or so that I fish with regularly. Through the years I graduated from Ugly Stiks & Lightning rods to low end St. Croix and Browning and when I learned to build my own, I went to Lamiglas, GLoomis and Sage. Looking back, I fished many more hours with them cheap sticks. No regrets, the best rod was always the one in my hand. LOL
  19. Just another reason boat ramps attract fish is the loading of boats churns up the water and oxygenates the whole area. I've found where storm water drainage pipes and culverts dump into the lake it is sometimes a hot spot also. Great video!
  20. I use gold and silver gel pens. I spray the area with clear lacquer afterward to keep the rod finish from smearing it.
  21. Getting organized in my new shop.....
  22. Good job on the diagnosis, treatment and recovery Glenn! I am blessed to have a great PC doctor who does a complete psychical with EKG and comprehensive bloodwork, including PSA levels every 6 months now that I'm past 65. Staying ahead of it is easy, but fixing it after it's broken, not so much. Really glad to hear you are OK! Ronnie
  23. If you are referring to Lake Dora in Tavares, there are no HP limits. Go for it.
  24. I live about a quarter mile from Lake Griffin. I'd love to join you for some fishing.

My wife has a S&W Shield EZ. It's the only 9mm she could rack the slide.
