Friggs
I have heard about this before. And saw a different video showing the same thing. Something to think about.
garroyo130
Perform that test in a pool with 30+ yds of line out. I don't think gear is sensitive enough for us to feel the "bite", what we feel is movement.
Functional
He'd get the same results with mono with that setup. How the line sits in the water under slack line will make the difference. Saying mono has stretch so it's not sensitive is 1) BS and 2) a cop out. Stretch has zero effect on any of the lines until you put enough tension in it (ie, not a bite but a hook set). What I don't know personally is if mono is any less sensitive than floro. Floro will have a belly sagging while mono should have a belly floating. Testing it this year for myself. Just my thoughts...

Have you ever let bare line out behind the boat to get rid of line twist? Even with no lure, your rod will bend. The friction between the line and water will cause the line to stretch. It's one of my favorite Internet arguments, right up with beans in chili and how to hang toilet paper.

However, there is an exemption you can file for if you have a cat who will not stop messing with it when hung that way.

Chili without beans is sloppy Joe, and the toilet paper roll goes on the tank cover and held with the off hand while unrolling with a twist of the other's wrist, Americans I tell ya...

This blasphemy! Chili without beans is chili! With beans it's chili WITH beans! Words have meaning. I agree with the TP position. BTW 😉
