3rd Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Message for Senko77.............. It seems that Speedbead is afraid that you might catch a bass bigger than you are. So, in the interest of fattening you up a little bit, he has covered the cost of your Wednesday night dinner. Way to go Wayne! I am right proud to be riding with this posse!! 8-) Ronnie

G Loomis
I don't know all the ins and outs, but this is what I have figured out. MBR844C = MB = Mag Bass series R = Rod (G. Loomis also makes golf club shafts and other products) 84 = 84" or 7' long 4 = Heavy power (3= Med. Hvy., 2= Med. etc.) C= Casting rod (as opposed to spinning ) MBR844C = MagBass rod, 7', heavy power, casting rod. SJR722S = spin jig rod, 72" or 6', Med. (2 power), Spinning SBR864C = Spinner Bait Rod, 86" (7'2"), Heavy Power, Casting I hope this makes sense and is helpfull. Ronnie

One hand casting or two?
I use 2 hands nowadays because I'm afraid I will throw my rod in the water with one hand. LOL Ronnie

Lizard question
There are no lobsters living in my house, but I will eat one if it shows up. LOL Bass aren't nearly as smart as we give them credit for being. They will feed instinctively. They don't have a menu and refuse any offering that isn't on that menu. Otherwise, you might never catch a fish on any lure. I find it interesting that modern lure makers are making baits that look exactly like bait fish, in every detail. Compared to old Heddon poppers, balsa baits and chugbugs modern anglers should be catching a 100 times more fish than our grandfathers with such realistic baits, but WE ARE NOT. If you are catching them with a lizard, I would say you are onto to something that works. Ronnie

I think it was Paul Elias that said." when you fish a worm slower than you ever have before, slow down a little" Ronnie

Ti Recoil Guides & Braided Line
Unless you are a rod builder, why worry about it? Recoil guides are expensive and usually only come stock on rods that have a lifetime warranty. The only rod I own with recoil guides is a Loomis GLX dropshot rod. First sign of any grooves and they will replace it, no questions asked. JMHO Ronnie

Alpster's new rod building toy.....
Yep, that's part of the plan. I also have a Foredom rotary wood carver to finish them up with. Just a matter of finding the time to play with it. Work is always getting in the way of all my hobbies. LOL Ronnie

Rods
A 5" Senko with a EWG hook weighs about 1/2 an oz. 1/2 oz is a little heavy for a SJ722 (I have one) and just under the 5/8 oz limit for the SJ783 (don't have one). I use my MB844C almost exclusively for senko type baits and Texas rigged plastic worms. I hope this helps. Ronnie

3rd Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Notice how I deftly swindled Muddy out of that recipe. You are 'DA MAN' Dominick! I got the bassbuss out of the shop today and she's tuned up and purring like a kitten. Almost had 3 wrecks coming home, the bassbuss kept trying to head for the interstate, had to wrestle her back to the house, just 16 more days. ANOTHER REMINDER TO GET PAID UP FOR THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER. 8-) If you are signed up for the trip and did not get a PM from me, let me know and I will send you instructions on how to send a check or use PAYPAL. ARE WE THERE YET??? Ronnie

Favorite kind of food?

Polarized Lens Color
Mine are prescription, lightly tinted brown. Polarized and I can see very well with them in the water. Ronnie

Big Worms, Need Help
"Culprit" 10" and 12 " worms can't be beat IMHO. I like the Black Shad and Red Shad colors. Killer bait! Click on the Bass Pro Shops banner at this link and you can order them at BPS. If you use the banner, BassResource gets a little ad revenue. Doesn't cost you any extra. http://www.bassresource.com/fish/advertisers.html Try them! Ronnie

Are your tackle boxes ready for opener?

BIG disappointment for me too! I hope all goes well for you Catt. Ronnie

Your favorite high-end jig?
I lose too many jigs to pay $6.00 + apiece for them. I am happy with Arkie, Strike King and Terminator. They catch fish and as Burley said in another thread, they are disposable. Ronnie
