  1. all of it makes total since to me. Sounds like you had a fun day RW.
  2. Your welcome and that will work. Good luck to you and hope you get to enjoy the boat. Dan
  3. When buying a used boat your taking a gamble. Your buying some bodies head ache . If your not mechanically incline your going to spend a lot of money. Since the late seventies I've own Three Ski boats, One Jet boat and Two Bass boats. All used! I 've had to work on all of them. My 1993 Skeeter takes on water too. I have two intake line for front and back live wells and two drain lines. In order to fix mine I'm going to have to pull the top half off. if not I will just keep plugging the drain lines because that's where its leaking.
  4. Due to health problems I'm not able to work. I could fish seven days a week if I had the money to cover it. Because of lack of funds I'm only able to fish one to two times a month and limited to where I can go. The better places to go are two and a half to three hours away. Once again lack of funds. So if it's not work! it's always something. Make the time even if it's just to go to a friends small pond.
  5. I went to Glenn Springs yesterday. 0 fish 0 stars. I talked to the man that works in the store and he said. The store its self would be closed at the end of Oct. The lake will stay open. There will be a box with envelopes to fill out and stuff your six dollar fee in it for people who need lake permits. ( People under 65 with small game and fish license) 65 and older and people with sportsman license don't need one.
  6. Happy Birthday Kent. I hope they don't work you to hard today.
  7. Then I will go and talk to them this coming week and see what they have to say. The lake is only four miles from me.
  8. Last week I herd the guy that works in the store at Glenn Springs Lake tell someone that the lake would close in Oct. I did not here him say when it would re open.
  9. You must have ESPN ! I was thinking the same thing. I have used this trick for many of years behind jet boats , inboard outdrives and outboards . Its always worked for me.
  10. He needs to take MMA training before he tries that again !!!!!!!!!!!
  11. This happens to me most of the time at a lake that is only four miles from my house. .Its a some what a clear lake and its high pressured.. I will figure it out one of these days. A friend of mine that fishes there some times told me to down size Line and lures and long cast. I'll see if it works for me today. Who knows ? Today might be the day to get the skunk off my back.
  12. Thanks every one for the replies. When I replace it I will use a backing. Thanks Skeeter Dan
  13. I've been Bass fishing since the early 80's. Up until three yrs ago I always used mono then I switch to copolymere .Just recently I bought my first braid. After I bought it and spooled it direct to my spool on my bait caster reel I started reading about using backing. My question is should I have used backing before I spooled on my braid or is tying direct to the spool ok ?
  14. Is you motor putting out a steady stream of water when Idle? If not change the impeller. It should be putting out the same amount as running at higher RPMs.
  15. I've been wanting to try it out there. I just have never made the trip.
  16. No matter what you buy they are only as good as the person who pulls the trigger. With the proper training any of them will do just fine. But you have to put in the time. I love my Walter p99 40cal. Support our Armed Forces.
  17. On the east side of the River off of I 40 Birdsong , Sails landing , Eva Boat ramp, Beaver Dam boat ramp an Camden. on the west side of the river Hwy 70 New Johnsonville Boat ramp. There's a lot more between I40 and Paris Tn The rest of them I have never put in there.
  18. ABU Garcia ORRA SX is in that price range.
  19. I'm glad some one can catch bass there . I went this morning and couldn't even get a tease.
  20. I got hooked in the neck by my Big Brother when we were kids. My uncle worked it back out with the barb still on it. 50ty years later my hands and fingers don't function very well plus my eye sight makes it hard for me to tie on hooks and baits of any kind. I hook my self on a regular bases. Keeping my shots up to date is a must. I have a Net, Boga and pliers oh yeh and gloves to keep me from getting hook after landing a fish. I gues you could say I'm back asswards.
  21. Got Skunked at Glenn Springs yesterday afternoon. Only fished a couple of hours. My water intake on motor got stopped up so to insure I had enough juice left on trolling motor battery to put my boat back on the trl. I made it a short afternoon. Got to the house put the hose and muffs on the motor and water pump is doing its job again.
  22. I've always heard you can't use a boat with a motor on it . I'm just looking for a place to put my grandson on some fish from the bank. If he doesn't catch any thing with in the first few minutes he is ready to leave. Bream and crappie in he's eyes are food on the table he would get his Me ma to cook them up for him after Grand pa scaled and clean them.
