  1. They may be a little too fast for comfort, I fish alone. Don't won't my wife worrying that something may happen, since I don't know the rivers enough yet
  2. Dug my canoe out of the snow, charged up the battery, then drove by Naticook and saw people on the ice. Buzzkill! Seems like there may be a few more weeks. Although Horseshoe is getting more and more open by the ramp.
  3. Checked Naticook and Horseshoe in Merrimack, there are some openings but no where near the ramps. Both ramp are still snow filled. Seeing small patches of open water is like looking at a nice cleavage, just a tease
  4. Drove by Margaritas tonight and thought of you fishing there
  5. I have a spool of 30# braid that will go on the new spinning rod. I tried floro for the first time last season, I didn't like it because it snapped with a good fish on it. But it was Spiderwire and I was told to use Seaguar or PLine, so I will give them a shot this year. Most guys have told me the Spiderwire floro is garbage
  6. Cabin Fever is raging. Five feet of snow on the lawn, 2-3 feet of ice on the ponds. New spinning and baitcasting combos, lots of new lures, and not a chance I'll be using them anytime soon. Stopping at BPS tomight so I can at least see fish swimming somewhere, even if it is a half-blind striper
  7. Welcome fellow NH gasser. Be sure to check out the NH thread. Lots of good info and people
  8. Couple of bacon and mayo sandwiches, that may have some lettuce and tomato in there and a Coke or two. Chocolate chip cookies if available. And they always are
  9. Not sure what the best is, I'm still experimenting with Flouro, but I can say this, DO NOT buy Spider Wire. My experience with that crap is horrible. My wife's sewing thread is tougher that that Spider garbage.
  10. Welcome Jordan. Check out the thread for Southern NH. Lots of good info there. The guys in there are very helpful
  11. Looks like that today may be the last day of the season for me. I went to Horseshoe in merrimack and had a good day. I anchored in about 9 feet of water and used a variety of crankbaits and plucked fish along the dropoffs into 13+ fow. The last fish was the biggest, about 3 pounds, in all about 18 bass caught. All in all, I had a good season, especially being away from fishing for over 20 years. Now I need to figure how to download the pictures from my camera onto the PC and then onto this site. That may take all winter
  12. Fished Naticook this morning. I scaled down the gear to light tackle, lures and 6# test line. I caught a lot of bass, crappies, perch, and pickerel. Nothing was huge but on the light tackle, it sure was fun. I did see a few bigger bass and pickerel following the lures but none took
  13. I stand corrected. Still a nice fish
  14. If you are on Facebook, look up Impact Fishing, the smallie is there
  15. Did anyone notice the 12+ pound smallmouth that the Mass Fish and Game found after shocking a cove in Quabbin?
  16. Not a bad morning, I got 4 lmb between 2-4 lbs, all were sitting on drop offs. 3 were caught on a Dance'n Craw. I kid you not. I like showing them stuff they have never seen before. I know I have some Dance!n eels somewhere. Lol
  17. Caught a lot of fish today but none were bass. I had s rest time though. Yellow perch were slamming the cranks
  18. Thanks Bob. I appreciate your experience. I'll keep going until it gets too cold. Getting to the age where I don't handle the cold as long as I used to. Tough to tie knots with fingers that aren't as nimble anymore
  19. Didn't have a good day today, only one pickerel. I threw everything but not even a few hits. Any suggestions on fall fishing? I'm kind of stumped
  20. Fished the shore if Maasabesic, caught a lmb that wasn't long but was definitely fattening up for the winter. He had a belly like mine, big
  21. Fished Horseshoe again today, 8 bass, the biggest about 2. They were deep, hanging at the drop offs
