  1. Fished Naticook this morning, lots of small fish in several varieties. Then fished Horseshoe in Merrimack and caught a monster of a pickerel, easily the biggest one I've ever caught or seen. It took a long time to get the hook out so I didn't get measurements. Great fight, I'm guessing it was well over 5 pounds, very thick fish
  2. the opposite happened Sunday, I put the canoe in and first cast had a bass. Two guys about 30 yards from me cursed me out. But in a joking way. Keep in mind, I am usually not that good lol
  3. 9-6 Massachusetts Bill Plummers Super Frog July 1985, noon, out of the pads Released
  4. No, I caught a 9-6 in Mass. Great fish on a Bill Plummer Super Frog on a hot July day around noon
  5. I was there yesterday, 15 bass, 10 pickerel, and a giant bluegill. The biggest bass was about 3, caught on a shad rap. I was going to back there today but no parking due to kids football. So I went to Horseshoe and had my best day there yet. 7 bass several perch and crappie and a few pickerel . Biggest bass was about 4 on a chatter bait. First fish on that lure, I'm convinced. Both days had the waters to myself
  6. I'll be out tomorrow if there is no thunderstorms. Lightning and aluminum canoe don't always mix nicely.
  7. Had a good morning, about 15 lmb, 10 pickerel and 1 humongous bluegill. Then the wind kicked up and then things shut off
  8. Wareham-Glen Charlie Pond Carver-Sampsons Pond Plymouth-Long Pond, and Great Herring Pond, good smallmouth Bourne-Bumps Pond, small but some good fish there Taunton-Sabbatia Bridgewater-Nippinicket I'll try to think of more, it's been a few years. Didn't fish much towards Fall River. Look for forum threads about fishing in SE Mass, plenty of good ideas
  9. Welcome, I used to fish the Carver area, lived in Wareham for a long time
  10. Rather windy this morning and water temp was 66. Tough fishing but caught a few dinks, saw some big uns on the depth finder but they seemed yo have lockjaw
  11. What are your strategies for fall fishing here in southern NH?
  12. Fished Massapesic for the first time for a couple of hours. Got skunked but I did get to watch a hawk for awhile. I'm on a dry spell on this vacation but will keep plugging away
  13. Nice fish Nev! I got nothing at Mill Pond today
  14. My in laws live there so I'll try it some more. It looks like a great place.Fished Horseshoe in Merrimack this morning. Lots of small fish but nothing to brag about
  15. Fished Pine River Pond for an hour or so. Got one small dink. Had too many people who didn't fish in the boat, will go back when I can get out alone. The place is all private and didn't see many others fishing
  16. I hang onto and try to find as many Bill Plummer Super Frogs as I can. I've caught countless lunkers on these.
  17. Thanks, I will be in my canoe. I hope to try both sides during the week, It should be quiet with summer being done
  18. Fished Horseshoe in Merrimack today. Got a 3pounder off a Senko and my first fish off the jig and Rage craw, it was small but it's a good start for learning to use a jig Vacation next week, I will be fishing Pine Island in Wakefield on Saturday and Massabesic during the week. Any inside info for fishing from Clare's Landing will be appreciated, it will be my first time there. Thanks
  19. Fished Mill Pond this morning. Caught a few small ones. Only brought jigs and trailers oy learn how to use them. Will go somewhere tomorrow
  20. Nice fish. Speaking if pictures, how do you post them to this site? The Help section doesn't
  21. I'll fishing with anyone once. The trick is seeing if I want to fish with them a second time
  22. Do any Eastern Mass guys fish Borderland Park in Easton/Sharon? Or Ames Pond in Easton/Stoughton? I grew up in that area and fished both places a lot in the 70's and 80's. I caught my PB at Borderland, just under 10 lbs. Just wondering if these places were still productive. There were 2 small ponds at Borderland that were hard to get at until early August that produced good numbers and size of bass
  23. It wasn't the knot, I checked that. If it was a pickerel, I would have loved to have seen that monster. The pull was incredible. I was using a heavy action, 7' Shimano rod with an Ambassadeur reel that has a 3.8-1 ratio. Oh well, at least I got to feel a good adrenaline rush. Been away from fishing a long time, feels good to be back
  24. I've read every page iof this thread and was convinced to use a jig and rage craw combo. Today I lost what might have been the fish of a lifetime on this rig. Never saw it but felt its pull and it peeled off several feet if line then snap. 20# flouro was somehow cut. I don't mind losing it but would've liked to have seen it The jig and rage claw will be a regular bullet in my aresenal
