The swinging "rugby" jig heads/hooks can also be worked by reeling them, similar to a crankbait. Get a heavier one (5/8-3/4-1oz), let it sink to the bottom, and then reel it slowly back to you. You can stop it every once in a while. This will look just like a crawfish crawling along the bottom and you'll really be able to get a feel for what the bottom is.

The barrel swivel broke? Or your line from the swivel to the chatterbait was gone? I'm betting that your knot gave out.

I've bought 3 reels from JapanLureShop and I have never had any problems or been hit with any fee's. I usually buy one reel and a spool of line with it, and customs has yet to hold anything up.

I'm looking at trucks right now myself. The new Colorado's do look nice, but I don't see how they can charge just as much for a mid size truck as they do a full size truck. The 2014 leftover Silverado's are the same price as the 2015 Colorado's.

They make a big ruckus on the surface. They're a big, heavy bait. Just reel them in slow. I'd suggest a 5:1 reel. The Pomp Jr. is coming out at iCast. That should be better suited for any a lighter setup.

I like to use my St. Croix Avid 7' M-F and my Shimano Crucial 6'10" MH-F for throwing 1/4-3/8oz Cavitrons (or buzzbaits as some folks say).

Digging in is usually caused by thin line, and lots of resistance (fish taking drag, getting snagged an torquing on the lure with the line, etc). With that, my vote goes to 832. I was starting to like the Seaguar Smackdown, but I found it's almost too supple and I ended up having lots of issues with it.

Are you looking to replace the whole handle, or just the knobs?

The Keitech Impact Fats, Impacts, and Easy Shiners are all great trailers. I also have good luck using Zoom Fat Alberts (single and double tail), and the split tail trailers. I also recently got some Bruiser Baits Evil Twin trailers and they have great action as well. The legs on it kick outward instead of inward like most double tailed grubs.

It's a little bit out, but Chatauqua (spelling) is a killer.

I recently picked up one of the new Picasso Shock Blade bladed swim jigs (chatterbaits) in the 3/4oz versions. After using it yesterday, it seems to work fairly well for the most part. However, I did notice that the lure would like to "turn over" during the retrieve and I would have to give it a twitch to get the lure to straighten up and start working (chattering) again. I tried two different trailers and neither fixed this problem. This is the first bladed swim jig I have used that wasn't made by Zman, or in other words, one that doesn't have the blade attached directly to the head. Has anyone else experienced this problem before?

For bass fishing, if I were only going to have one rod, it would be a MH power, preferably in a 7' length. If you need a shorter rod, go with a 6'6".

Does this area get a lot of fishing pressure?

I'm loving the newly revised Chatterbaits from Zman. DT Fat 1's have been working well for me too.

But what color is your Fireline now? I haven't used fireline in probably 12+ years, but it always went from "Smoke" to snow white after the first outing.
