  1. They'll certainly do it. Have you seen the video of the bass in the BPS store tank try to eat another bass? It's a fish probably pushing DD attempting to swallow a 2-3 pound bass and then spits it out after a few minutes.
  2. Little over 2 days left to get your picks in boys. Good luck everyone!
  3. Man, what an event! I love these events where there's big bags and anyone can be in the hunt. Here's our current top 5. Dirtclod sschrad rgbtr196le Fish Forrest Fish scaleface Fish Forrest Fish was our top performer with 1256 points this event. If you're reading this Forrest, tell us who you had. We've got 10 days til the next event at Neely Henry Lake (Coosa River) in Alabama. Start researching now!
  4. Most interesting thing I've noticed today... Clifford Pirch has 0 fish in his livewell and has caught 5 fish so far that weren't big enough to keep.
  5. Walters has a 29lb+ bag in the first 3 hours!!!
  6. I've gotten quite a few over the years. Lets see what I remember. GLoomis Classic TWR for $95 (retailed for around $350 I believe) Quantum Smoke baitcaster for $35 (retailed for around $200) Shimano Bantam baitcaster and GLoomis IMX Pro for $399 (reel is $350, rod is $325) 10 Packs of Havoc Pit Boss for $3.95 Abu Garcia Veracity rod for $45 (retailed for $200)
  7. These guys have been fishing for an hour and a half so far and there's already 6 fish being reported over 7 pounds
  8. Zaldain sitting at over 60% ownership in bucket E currently. Hopefully he bounces back this event.
  9. $1 buzzbait...
  10. That looks awesome. Great work!
  11. It's hard to go wrong with our Lord and Savior, Green Pumpkin. Outside of that, I like: Black w/ blue fleck (dirty water) Watermelon (clear water) Gooseberry Laminate (it's a black/dark purple color) To spice it up, I carry the following: GP/Watermelon Lam Bama Bug Smoke w/ blue/gold fleck (bluegill color) and I'll dip the tail in Chartruese JJ's
  12. Hackney had like 53% ownership at Sabine and he finished 52nd... This has been such an off year for so many guys. I'm making my picks the same way I always have. Considering locals, how they fish on certain styles of water, how the bite may be, past performances on that lake, etc... and I'm having my worst year ever by a landslide. Guys who are historically top 15 performers on a body of water aren't even making the cut. I don't know what to do at this point. I feel like there's no safe picks at all this year on any body of water.
  13. Granted, I only own Shimano and Daiwa, but none of my reels have ever had an issue that wasn't basic maintenance related. Things like a drop of oil on a brake drum or a bearing, or a dirty line pawl/worm gear. But again, whether you buy a Honda or a Maserati, they all need an oil change and fresh wiper blades every so often.
  14. No, it has nothing to do with the BR league here. Just a side game that the BASS is testing out currently.
  15. Really glad to see Christie get a win, and he did it throwing my favorite technique right now as well, a spinnerbait. I know Feider was throwing the same thing as well. Despite the low weights, this was a fun event to watch. Lake Fork should make for a totally different event. 9 days. Get those picks in.
  16. Pretty sure it has been discussed ?‍♂️ BassTrak goes totally off of what the angler tells their marshal. Historically, there's been no incentive to guys to give their marshals an accurate guess. They added a $1k bonus this year if an angler can correctly guess their livewell weight for BassTrak. Some guys seem to not like accurately giving updates. Seth Feider in particular is notorious for catching fish and greatly underestimating. I've seen numerous times where he'll catch a 6+ pound fish and report it as a 4 pounder. I've even seen a few times on Live where a guy will weigh a fish, read it out loud or the screen will be shown on camera, and then tell their marshal a weight half a pound lower.
  17. What a wild first day. Paul Mueller weighed in a 5 fish limit for 4-2
  18. Glad you joined us. Feel free to join in the trash talking and pick discussion!
  19. As someone who is an engineer, I would assume that IPT is figured out this way: OC (outside circumference) of the spool x Gear Ratio (rotation of the spool per turn) = IPT
  20. I'm surprised California lets you use lead at this point, but that's not a discussion for here. Color really doesn't make much difference in my opinion.
  21. Water color and sun/weather effect this WAY too much for me to only pick one color.
  22. Hackney has over 48% ownership. For the sake of all those people, I hope he does well!
