  1. 12 lb mono for frogging You're not getting the hooks into the fish. They're coming off because they're simply spitting it out.
  2. Glad to have ya. You can learn the ropes through the remainder of the season.
  3. Jelly Worms in some of the good colors I like in the 8-9" range are getting super hard to find.
  4. Ssshhhh. Those bonus points helped me out a ton. Biggest bags and lunker should definitely get some sort of reward. Just like they do for AOY points.
  5. BP with the come from behind! What an event. I have Feider and Hartman. I was really thinking Feider was going to do it but once Palaniuk found that school of 4 pounders late in the afternoon, it was game over. 16 days until Lake St. Clair, so start doing your research now boys.
  6. Hartman and Feider both in 1st/2nd according to basstrak. My bracket is looking good already.
  7. A family friend has a small pond in his yard, maybe 2 acres in size. The pond is absolutely loaded with huge everything, from catfish, bass, bluegill, crappie, and perch. He hand feeds the pond daily with bread, chicken livers, and the sorts. All the bass in there average 3-4 pounds, but do you think they fill touch any sort of artificial bait? Nope. Topwaters, jerkbaits, Keitechs, squarebills, Senko's, nothing.... But if you put on a split shot and a dough ball. Hold on, because you're in for a good time.
  8. Honestly, I'd try any of them that fits your budget. Then once you realize that they're inferior, sell it and buy yourself the new Curado MGL 70
  9. Yeah, history on this lake could be crucial. Exhaustion could play into too.
  10. Hey everyone, I just got back from vacation and I wasn't around last week to remind everyone about the St. Lawrence event. I hope everyone had a great event. I managed to have the 1st, 2nd, and 7th place finishers on my team, so I did pretty well. I'm actually now in the 99th percentile on BASS, but still in 320th place overall. Here's our current top 5: Logan - 5109 tmr624 - 4914 fishballer06 - 4905 SFFishing - 4857 MrPeanut - 4821
  11. Stonewall Jackson is a tough lake. It's so deep that it can make things very difficult, especially if you can't spend hours graphing around. Don't be afraid to try a Damiki Rig around those underwater trees.
  12. I bent out 3 split rings on the Rapala Shadow Raps in the first month when they were released. Those rings are absolute garbage. Rapala owns VMC, so those are the rings that go on their baits.
  13. 6th Sense swim jigheads have very oversized hooks on them and they're available in lighter weights.
  14. It's confirmed. The Cayuga event is canceled. From the sounds of it, this might effect the St. Lawrence event too. https://www.bassmaster.com/news/cayuga-lake-bassmaster-elite-series-event-canceled-two-ny-tournaments-still-scheduled
  15. Rumor has it Cayuga has been canceled. Possibly two more will also be canceled.
  16. Heads up everyone - 6 days until rosters lock for the next tournament. Get your picks in now for Cayuga.
  17. A standard 5" Senko is my favorite Neko style worm. Rig it slightly off center, with the weighted end on the "shorter" side.
  18. This reservoir is down about 3-4' right now, so those rocks and that steep bank are normally under water. Getting down and up that bank is tough to do.
  19. I got out on the 4th and decided to throw some topwater. As most of you know, I love throwing the Cavitron. I was rewarded with this nice chunky one and my Go-Pro managed to capture the entire thing.
  20. KVD Line and Lure. Don't leave home without it.
  21. Either of those should work well. I don't own either, but I own a 734. I'd guess that bait would work well on the 733 though. Experiment and see what works for you and report back to us.
  22. Really depends on the weeds and the size of the bait I throw. I'll throw a 3.3" and even a 3.8" on a Medium power if it allows. MH is the do all though. H is nice in really heavy weeds, but casting distance and accuracy suffers.
  23. Keel weighted hooks are my go to in the weeds.
  24. Define old... I certainly wouldn't want a baitcaster from the 80's. But a Bantam Curado, Chronarch D, or something of those likes is still a fine reel to this day.
