  1. Ned rig and a dropshot (outside of Lake Erie).
  2. A lot of my best producing crankbaits have little to no paint/finish left on them. Adding anything onto that bait is going to change its action (slightly). My advice is buy a few backups in the same color and fish that one until the wheels fall off.
  3. Like I said, conflicts in schedule
  4. Ott elected NOT to fish the Classic due to conflicts in schedule.
  5. The 200 sized Curado K likely won't be replaced for at least another year. However, you will likely see a new smaller 70 sized one very soon. If you're comfortable ordering from Japan, the Scorpion MGL is a nice upgrade over the Curado K. They're currently sitting at $179 on JapanLureShop.
  6. I guess I should have clarified further. ALL Shimano handles have the exact same size crank shaft and the corresponding hole in the crank handle is the same size. Now whether you have a straight/bent handle and/or drag star, those items will need to be matching in order to have proper fitment.
  7. All Shimano reels use the exact same handle. So yes, you can put any Shimano handle on any Shimano reel.
  8. With about 15 minutes to go, it looks like Steve Kennedy is going to blank for today. What's crazy about that, is that in a 3 day event, he'll have weighed in 8 total fish and still be finishing in 20th place out of 88.
  9. My picks are all over the place after the second day. Here's where my crew is after 2 official days. Prince - 20 Walters - 5 Jaye - 2 Hudnell - 78 Cappo - 81
  10. My C bucket pick Kelley Jay sitting in first place after day one!
  11. Here's an official update on how BASS is going to handle this tournament. https://www.bassmaster.com/news/wind-advisory-cancels-friday-st-johns
  12. Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm Rage Tail Cut-R Worm
  13. I'm personally not a big fan of the Spool Speed bearings. They're cheap, Chinese made bearings that they sell at nearly the price of the higher quality bearings made elsewhere. All that aside, they perform alright if you are in need of new bearings. I believe you can run them dry or put a drop of oil in them to quiet them up and tame them a little bit.
  14. Well so much for all the excitement I had for today.. Oh well, safety is always #1. We'll kick it off tomorrow morning.

Nice pickup. Should be fun to shoot. And if you ever find it to just be too much, you can always trade it for something in a cowboy caliber.
  16. We've made it. Tournament week is here. As of me posting this, you have roughly ~60 hours left to make your picks. If you've already made your picks, post them up and share with us why you made your picks.
  17. Really depends on the body of water. Some of my best days in Canada have been in 25-40mph winds. But if we're talking Lake Erie, I've seen days where there are 5-10mph winds and small craft advisories because there's 4-5' rollers.
  18. I own both, but in casting models. I'd give the Expride blank the edge in terms of sensitivity. But like mentioned above, no bait keeper hook
  19. My rods and reels get swapped around as I see fit, since I fish mostly as a co-angler. Anyway, here's my casting lineup. I've got a few more sitting around the garage that don't get used any more as well.
  20. 40lb. braid, and then 2-3' of your FC leader should get you the same results. A 40lb braid has the diameter of 10-12lb mono, so you should have plenty of capacity.
  21. Quick update - 5 days left to get your picks in for this first event. Remember, its free to sign up!
  22. Sounds like every club ever... Two things can happen - Everyone quits showing up, eventually the ringers stop showing up because there's no pay out, and then you have no one. You could change out your payout. Make it so first and second payout goes lower, and you start paying out more places.
