  1. https://majorleaguefishing.com/press-releases/major-league-fishing-prohibits-berkley-powerbait-maxscent-in-bass-pro-tour-competition/ I'm hoping this is just some elaborate April Fools joke, but the article is written like it's fairly legitimate.
  2. I have zero issues with my Scorpion MGL (or any of my Shimano's for that matter).
  3. Friendly thread bump. Roughly 8 days til Sabine. Get those picks in.
  4. There's one that put on the Quarintine 15.
  5. Another one falls victim to the spinnerbait.
  6. On Sunday afternoon I got to get out and fish for a little. I spotted a bald eagle flying around the lake (I've seen this bird at this lake last year), so I thought that was neat. It was super windy that day, the white caps were ripping all over the water. The eagle came down and dived right into the lake out in front of me and flew up overhead. He hovered overhead and let me get a good picture of him. Check out what he's got in his claws
  7. This. I've experimented with a lot of the major big name fluoro's over the past 5 years or so and I've only ever experienced this once, and it was with a bargain dollar brand fluoro. Sunline Sniper and Shooter Seaguar Tatsu PLine Tactical Diawa J-Fluoro Berkley 100% No issues with ANY of these at all.
  8. Spinnerbaits are the biggest crap shoot there is out there as far as weight goes. As someone who builds his own baits, I'll let you in on a little secret with spinnerbaits. In general, the packaged "weight" of a spinnerbait is the weight of the hook/jig/wire form. Things like the bearing swivel, blades, clasps, beads, spacers, skirts, etc. all add extra weight to the bait. So that 3/8oz spinnerbait could be 5/8oz, or maybe even upwards of 7/8oz once its fully decked out. However, there are some manufacturers out there who will sell a spinnerbait as it's actual weight as a finished product. So that's why sometimes you'll see a 1/2oz spinnerbait that looks really small, and another one next to it on the shelf that looks massive compared to it.
  9. Solid picks. Great job! Now keep it up.
  10. Another personal favorite of mine, I'm sure you all can relate. Buy a new reel, get it all set up, take it out on the first outing and get that first bite... And the drag is still set at 0 from the factory and you've got this dumb look on your face.
  11. Man, I was was really hoping Mosley would pull it out yesterday because I had him, but Bill Lowen deserves a win more than anyone. I'm glad he finally did it. That hog he caught yesterday sealed the deal for him. Big shout out to sschrad for having 1201 points from this event. I'd really like to know who you had on your roster. I think the water conditions made a lot of guys struggle this event. Our current top 5 guys are: WillieP Dirtclod sschrad virginiabass PbrBullrider
  12. You guys have never used your pliers to remove a hook from the fish and released the pliers back into the water while still holding the fish? No? Just me? Ok then...
  13. Sometimes its all about the presentation that the fish want. While you can't fully determine that mood of the fish off just one bite, you are looking at two totally different variables here. Your texas rigged craw bait is fishing slow on the bottom of the water column. While your swimbait is a moving bait that is higher up in the water column. Just like people, sometimes you want to sit down and have a nice meal. Other times you're busy and on the go, so you grab something to go. I hope that analogy makes sense.
  14. First fish of 2021. Slow rolling a spinnerbait in a some cold, dirty water.
  15. I've bought a few heads in that mold from Mike at Siebert. It's an excellent design.
  16. I try to take good care of my gear so that it will in return take good care of me. And in the event that I ever have to sell it on down the line, I can still get a decent return on my money. But with that said, I do buy all of my gear with the purpose of using it, so it's going to get used the same whether its a cheap piece of equipment or the highest end of gear.
  17. I took KJ as well. Day 1 his boat broke down and he didn't get to fish. Totally killed my tournament. He has a good history on this chain of water.
  18. Just adjusted my Column F bucket pick - Roadwarrior
  19. Day 1 has been postponed due to rising water levels. https://www.bassmaster.com/news/pickwick-day-1-postponed
  20. I've been having a terrible year so far. I hope I can turn it around this event. It seems this year, a lot of the heavily favored guys haven't faired well. Locals haven't done overly great either this year.
  21. Two days left to get your picks in. Let's go!
  22. I think it got skipped last year because they weren't able to fully operate to handle the order volume bc of COVID. Probably would be best to call or email them to see if its happening this year.
  23. Probably worth noting - Christie came from MLF where he's used to landing fish and not being allowed to let the fish hit the deck of the boat. Just food for thought. And on another note, we have another event down. I had another dismal showing in my picks. I'm glad to see Gussy finally get a blue trophy. Well deserved by him. We've got 16 days I believe until the next event. So start doing your research.
  24. Try the Baby Rage Bug as a jig trailer. Thank me once you start catching more fish
  25. My worst day ever... 49 53 93 24 86
