A nice Fall day of fishing in NH...
Hey Guys thought I would report in. 10/28 on my home lake in Southern NH was a good one. I saw one other boat and I think he was fishing for trout the whole day, I had the lake to myself. The lake was 55°F and we had a great day out on the water. Im still catching fish using topwater although it has slowed way down in its production. Its become a challenge now just to see if I can coax one into biting now. Various lures were putting fish in the boat sunday, from tubes and jigs (even a white swimming jig) to crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Surprisingly enough didnt get one on the jerkbait, most likely I didnt find the right cadence for them. All in all we had a real good day, my friend and I, Id say we boated 30-40. One thing out of the ordinary the water is definitely cooling. I had a small 8-12in LM bass on that hit my tube and was reeling it in and right behind it on its tail in close pursuit was a good 15-18in Brown Trout. I dont know if this Trout was looking for a meal or what but he definitely was interested. We came up on 2 balls of Alewives about the size of my bass boat so thick and numerous they looked like black clouds underwater. The weirdest thing was I think cause I dont know, but I think that we came across 2 Brown Trout spawning. What I saw was 2 massive Brown Trout splashing and swimming in circles with each other and every so often one would take a jump at the other. These Trout were in the area of 18-22in and my guess would be around 4lbs or so, Im guessing but they were pretty thick. I tried running a rattle trap through the area but they were too interested in what they were doing to even notice us. So after watching them splash around for a minute or two they swam back down and we never saw them again. So my question is this do Brown Trout spawn in the fall? Was that what I was looking at? I also was under the impression that stocked trout dont actually spawn either. Anyway was a good day out on the water. Good luck and tight lines everyone...

Any l33t Gamers...
Hey guys, Finally, getting a new gaming rig due in next week. This is mainly to distract myself from the morbid realization that most likely I will not be fishing for much longer. When the season is over I wont be starting back up again untill hopefully late March/early April. I was a huge fanatic of Q3, CoD, and CoD:UO back in the day. Im looking into picking up TF2 it looks real fun and I havent heard any bad feedback on it yet. So in the BassResource.com community do we have any FPS fans? What game you play what game mods you like?

A Great Time to be a Fan...
Your right tipptruck1 I didnt mention the Bruins they are tied for 4th place in the Eastern Conference in the NHL. They got off to a strong start and Thomas in net he has been making a strong case for being the primary net minder. As for College Hockey all of New England is lucky to be in the middle of Hockey East. That in of itself is like the mini NHL Northeastern, Boston College, Massachusetts, UMass Lowell, Vermont, Maine, Merrimack, Boston University, Providence seems like most of these teams make it into the NCAA tourney for hockey each year.

Winter Wear?
RW tells the truth... Now when i am getting ready for some cold weather fishing, Im in NH so we know cold up here. Im usually in 3 layers, anymore than that is over kill. I dress as simple and light as possible to keep myself as warm and as free moving as possible. You start with the wicking layer, by getting some nice synthetic thermal underwear, I personally have the tagless LLBean variety and love them. Next is the insulating layer depending on how cold it is some light weight wool socks, if its real cold some heavy weight wool socks. My legs I wear some lose fitting cross country ski pants from LLBean, my upper half I have a 300weight fleece pullover from LLBean. Next up is the shell layer I have a performance gortex shell by LLBean with many features this breaks the wind and keeps you bone dry. Footwear I have 2 choices for moderately cold Fall days I have some insulated gortex hiking boots from LLBean, when its bitterly cold I get my Kamik boots that are insulated and gortex wrapped and rated for -40°F conditions. My Head I have a fleece head sock on. One thing I learned quick is if you go out in bad weather you better be prepared. Get the good gear you will be thankful later that you did. Another rule never ever wear cotton, once you start to sweat your going to get wet and then get cold quickly. The synthetic fabrics will insulate you and at the same time wick the moisture away from your body. Another guide line When buying the outer layer and working your way in buy the clothing 1 or 2 sizes too big. This will give you plenty of range of movement when all the gear is on. That is my process, hope it helps...

RW, I hear you, she is in no way even remotely thinking of starting to sing. Its one game it doesnt matter if they won by 1 or 12. They still need to win 3 more. This series is not over by a long shot. Go Sox!!!

A Great Time to be a Fan...
I say it like I mean there is no better time to be a Boston Sports Fan than right now. The city is humming and alive with excitement of all that is going on. So for the people who are not here let me paint a picture of whats going on. Lets start with the Boston College Eagles this week ranked #2 in the country. Boston College Eagles take on Virginia Tech tonight to try and keep their hopes alive, for an unbeaten season. They also have a legit QB who cant be denied as a Heisman Trophy candidate. As good as their season is so far, I doubt many Boston sports fans even know about their success. The Boston Celtics are coming off of a dreadful 2006/2007 season. They mortgaged their future for the here and now. They went out and surrounded Paul Pierce with Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. There is allot of excitement surrounding this team, high expectations that these new acquisitions could restore the Celtics back to their winning ways of the 1980s. The New England Patriots starting the season 7-0. They arguably have the one of the best offenses in NFL history. Tom Brady now has a legit receiving core. He is protected by a veteran offensive line that is giving him time enough, to pose for more magazine ads before he has to throw the ball. The way in which they are winning is impressive to say the least. The upcoming game against the Colts will be a huge test and definitely a great game. They, the Red Sox, are playing as everyone knows, or should know, or doesnt want to admit, the Red Sox are in the World Series. For just the second time in 4 years, from that historic run in 2004. The Red Sox down 3-1 against Cleveland pulled it off and made the Fall Classic. They are up against the Rockies who are a young talented team. As everyone knows Boston is a Baseball town. This town lives and breathes for that team. For starters Ive heard of bleacher seats going for $1350 a pair, for game 1. What a game 1 that was. So I dont mean to gloat or boast. I just wish and hope that everyone could at some time have the experience that the Boston Sports Fan is having now...

Pats or Colts next sunday
Your absolutely right Burley. They are one dimensional all they do is win, and win big and impressively. ;D Even though Im hoping for a Patriots win. The Colts are definitely not a team to be taken lightly. They are the defending Super Bowl Champions and are 6-0. Hopefully the Patriots Defense will be getting Richard Seymour back in time for that game. The Patriots running attack is very much sublimed due to the fact that their 1st and 2nd string RBs are both banged up. I could very well see this easily turning into a shoot out only being decided by who has the ball last. The other scenario although unlikely because of these overpowering offenses,is that the defenses step up and stymie these offenses. If these two teams manage to stay undefeated this will easily be the highlight game of the regular season, and possibly only until they meet again in the playoffs. Well how they stack up after week 7 in the NFL. Total Offense Leaders (YPG) New England Patriots #1 Indianapolis Colts #3 Total Deffense Leaders (YPG) Indianapolis Colts #3 New England Patriots #4 Points Scored Leaders (Pts/G) New England Patriots #1 Indianapolis Colts #3 Points Allowed Leaders (Pts/G) Indianapolis Colts #4 New England Patriots #15 However it ends up, it will be a great game and I will be very much surprised if there isnt a rematch of this game in the playoffs. Go Patriots!!!

With a 143 million dollar payroll second only to the Yankees, it shouldn't be that difficult for Red Sox fans to believe. Sorry, Red Sox nation, but rooting for your team is similar to rooting for the Yankees. Go Rockies! With all due respect to Red Sox fans, I'm just a sorry-a.. Cardinal fan who hasn't forgotten the 2004 World Series. Plus, I can't remember the last time I really let some trash fly. Still, though, the Red Sox have a lot of money invested in that team. See below. Rank Team Payroll 1 New York Yankees $195,229,045 2 Boston Red Sox $143,123,714 3 New York Mets $116,115,819 4 Chicago White Sox $109,290,167 5 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim $109,251,333 6 Los Angeles Dodgers $108,704,524 7 Seattle Mariners $106,516,833 8 Chicago Cubs $99,936,999 9 Detroit Tigers $95,180,369 10 Baltimore Orioles $95,107,808 11 San Francisco Giants $90,469,056 12 St. Louis Cardinals $90,286,823 13 Atlanta Braves $89,492,685 14 Philadelphia Phillies $89,368,213 15 Houston Astros $87,759,500 16 Oakland Athletics $79,938,369 17 Toronto Blue Jays $79,925,600 18 Milwaukee Brewers $77,986,500 19 Minnesota Twins $71,439,500 20 Cincinnati Reds $69,654,980 21 Texas Rangers $68,818,675 22 Kansas City Royals $67,366,500 23 Cleveland Indians $61,289,667 24 San Diego Padres $58,235,567 25 Colorado Rockies $54,424,000 26 Arizona Diamondbacks $52,067,546 27 Pittsburgh Pirates $38,604,500 28 Washington Nationals $37,347,500 29 Florida Marlins $30,507,000 30 Tampa Bay Devil Rays $24,124,200 [edit] References Now correct me if Im wrong senile1, but didnt you guys win the World Series last year? Now Cmon you cant have sour grapes from the 2004 season, after just winning the 2006 World Series. Well it should be a great matchup. To be honest I dont pay any attention to the National League, so I have no idea what the Colorado Rockies are bringing.

Boat ramp Morons!!!!
HaHaHa.. That is some funny stuff, I admit everyone has had their fair share of "Boat Launch Stupidity". Myself I have left the winch strap attached once and another time I have forgotten to put the drain plug in (Thank God for Bilge Pumps). It is a little embarressing but everyone has those moments. I will say though Ive never immersed my truck like that guy. Hey all, there is a second part to this video. To me there either must be allot of slippery launches in the rest of the country or his tires are as bald as Micheal Jordan's head. View the remainder of this launch .
