  1. I'm with you LBH I only fish clear water cause thats all thats near me. I dont know of any "muddy" water in NH. I mean there are some that are slightly stained but you can still see over 5ft easily in them. I am used to fishing spring fed lakes and ponds so seeing over 10ft is the norm for me. I watch in awe when the tv shows are fishing somewhere and the water is like a cup of coffee would seem so foreign to me.
  2. Jig fishing does take some getting used too. Especially detecting a "bite". It took me 45 mins with a knowledgeable jig fisherman to teach me what to look for and what to feel for. Unlike some other lures jig fishing you need to pay attention at all times. When you cast out keep some slack in the line but not too too much maybe only enough so 2-3' will be sitting on top of the water. Watch that line if it jumps, starts going off to either side, sinks too fast, doesnt sink long enough set the hook. Fish will hit a jig on the fall so be prepared. Once your jig hits the bottom (depending on the bottom) you will feel it hit, also your line will go slack. Reel up the slack just enough so when you raise your rod you can feel the weight of the jig. A jig bite usually if you feel it at all sometimes you wont, especially Smallies, will feel like a "tick" imagine someone flicking their finger at your jig. What you are feeling is the jig being sucked into their mouths and hitting the back of their mouth. Again practice practice practice the best way to get better at it is to throw it constantly. As far as trailers go, I personally use Pork frogs, plastic twin tail trailers, and plastic chunk frogs. Hope this helps good luck and tight lines.
  3. Well as we all know LMB are cold blooded hence their metabolism changes with the water temperature. The hotter it gets the more they need to eat, and vice versa the colder it gets the less they need to eat. Things have been foul up here in NH as well all summer. My advice would be try finding some current and or cooler/deeper water or try some night fishing, they may have turned on at night to escape the heat of the day. Good luck and tight lines.
  4. I have recently totally remodeled my home, I am in NH so I am well aware of cold winters. I ripped everything out to the rafters, and started over. If your going blown in thats a way to go. If your going with fiberglass bats stick with Owens Corning, the pink stuff from HD. I tried other brands of insulation and it was garbage and ended up ripping it out and throwing it away. Anyway if you are going to go the blown in route I dont have much info for you but if your going to use the bats PM me and I will give you some tips.
  5. I didnt hear anything about this until today. This will surely be a huge News topic for the next few days. Headlines "Nuclear bombs mistakenly flown over USA". A B-52 bomber was mistakenly armed with six nuclear warheads and flown for more than three hours across several states last week. Read more about it here.
  6. Looking forward for some updates and to see a fellow New England angler with some Cali HAWGS!!! Good Luck LBH...
  7. I was sad to see em go. He did wonders for us in 2003 and 2004, cant argue that...
  8. Couldn't agree with you more RW...
  9. Red Sox now 7 games up. Was surprised as heck that they got swept by the NYY last week. Hopefully Manny and Wakefield will return fast and healthy. What about the Red Sox's Rookie throwing a NO NO!?!
  10. Ummm yea just one factor that theres too much money being made through and with the "Bowl Game System". Thats why I doubt you will see a different kind of system in place. Anyway just my thoughts.
  11. Hey guys, checking in from labor day weekend I was able to get out on Northwood Lake in Northwood, NH. It was tough all day long. It took all I had too not go skunked. We were on the water for 11hrs and I got 3 bites 3, yes 1, 2, 3. I threw most of all I had at them and had just about every rod out of my rod locker and on the deck(You know its a tough day when that happens). Friend I brought caught 4 dinks none of which was over 2lbs. During the day asking some locals I found out that this lake was treated for "Milfoil" this year. Most of my spots that I go to were bare of grass just a muck bottom. So I didnt get skunked. Im happy about that fact. The 1 bass I did catch came on a topwater frog, 30 minutes before we left.

  13. Just as a side note I want all of you BR members to be aware that I purchased these lights at BPS. I am going to add a link to the fixture so hopefully you will steer clear of these defective fixtures. You can view the fixtures here. Once again guys these lights are not safe. I just wrote a glowing review for them. I also took the other one off as well. It looks as if they both failed. The one that I took off today the wires burnt a hole through the lens and casing. I will post pics of these later. DO NOT BUY THESE LIGHTS!!!
  14. Thats harsh man thats harsh. BTW the Sox have had their share of rough patches. Have been without Schilling for a good portion of the summer. Manny and Big Papi both have been in season long hitting droughts. Who would have thought that Mike Lowell would lead the Red Sox in Hits and RBIs? They had their big slump that the NYYs were allowed to closed the 14 game lead to shrink it too 4.5 games. I think they have turned the corner and have their lead back upto a comfortable 8 game lead, with a 3 game series in the Bronx set for tonight. Go SOX!
  15. Jen? Sarah? Tasha? I think you dated her whole family dude. ;D You guys have no idea. He likes them pretty but God help them if they can spell ;D DUH! LBH just got BUSTED!!!!
  16. :'( :'( :'( That hurts man, that hurts. I will say that 2004 made it all worthwhile. Especially seeing them win 4 in a row to come back from 3 down against the NYYs. How is it we get to talking about the Sox and Yankees in a football post....lol GO PATRIOTS!!!
  17. Well go figure you had to root for either the Jets the Giants or more troubling the Bills. I dont follow college football much I will watch and cheer for Notre Dame(they have my man Charlie Weiss now), BC, UT. I cant wait for the reg season in the NFL. GO Patriots!! You have that right!!!!!!! Football was bleak growin up in the late 50's/early60's in Brooklyn, most of my Uncles were Oakland Fans, they liked rooting for felons!!!!!! Just for the record I have a long history of rooting for teams with shall we say LOOSING Ways BaseBall: Mets College Hoops: St.Johns>>>>a once great powerhouse gone down the tubes, with no end in sight Yeah well your losing ways Mets still beat my Red Sox in 1986. I still havent gotten over that game 6 yet. I go to therapy often for that one. That and game 7 of the 2003 ALCS.

  19. Well Well Well, here we are closing in on the end of August and I cant help but smile. The Boston Red Sox are up 8 games on the NYYs. They of which got their a$$e$ handed to them last night by Detroit 16 to 0. So the Sox travel to the Bronx for 3 games. Its going to be a fun and interesting series.
  20. I couldnt agree with you more. DO NOT! try and save money on an onboard charger you will simply need to replace it down the road eventually and it will cost you more in the long run. I have a Dual Pro and it has worked flawlessly for over 3 yrs. I have had cheaper models that have burnt up in only a matter of months. My advice would be to get the Dual Pro.
  21. I had a no name brand 50amp breaker on my Minn Kota TM worked for years until it literally fell apart from the constant bumps and knocks it would go through. I ended up just replacing it with a "stereo amp style" in line fuse setup. I got mine with 4 fuses for like $15 at Pep Boys. No problems yet.
  22. Oh man we have some LBH yoga stretching going on in the video. "Ughhh I cant reach the pliers" lol Classic....
  23. Truly a great story LBH! Well Done!!! My hat is off to you.
  24. Ok guys here is an update. I finally got to take the light off the trailer. When I did it was very apparent that the internal workings of the light had indeed failed. No idea what exactly went wrong other than the apparent that the light short circuited and started to fry itself. I have 2 pics that are terrible quality(Cellphone) showing the burnt wires coming out of the light and the light itself with the melted plastic lens. I'm in the process of running ground wires from front to back, again doubling up on the heat shrink wrap wire covering. I will not you cant see it in the pics but the connections that I made to the lights were completely clean and still going strong. The connections made by the factory inside the sealed light are what failed.
