Fall Patterns for New England....?
I haven't thrown a s/b in years, I need to get back on 'em next yr a bit. Within days of the harvest moon, our water finally turned. Topwater bite seized up like an Edsel with no oil. ;D :'( Catching a fish in the upper 1/2 of the water column will take some killer magic or a huge horseshoe now. Craws, craws, craws,....that's the menu in our lake for the rest of the season. Even the plastics will dwindle in these next few weeks for me anyway. Jigs will be the staple by the end of the month. Really? I was killing them on topwater on this passed Monday. Our frenzy of crankbait fishing hasnt yet begun, and I am in NH.

Shocked...
I dont have any words, that could accurately express how shocked I am at the selfishness of this police officer. If I lived in that jurisdiction I would be embarrassed that something like this was going on in a place I lived in. Well here is the story, you can read it here.

Fall Patterns for New England....?
Well there is a catch here for me. Agreed we dont have shad like in other parts of the country. They will still smack the snot out of yellow perch and gobble up any crawfish. Those are the patterns I go by when fishing lakes around me. Now for my home lake that has a very healthy population of landlocked alewife. Its mostly a baitfish pattern. Now Walkingboss I know you are a Jig fisherman this easily one of the best times to use it and be rewarded with it.

Another Phone :(
I too am brutal on my cell phone. I have literally broken the hinge on 2 flip phones in a row. Never mind watching the poor thing take a tumble off the top of my truck as I pull out the driveway. Anyway I have a phone now that is supposedly tough enough to withstand the punishment I put it through. You can check it out here, as always Im not affiliated with this company.

The Best and Worst of the NFL - Wk. 5
Power rankings?? I don't understand is a Power Ranking? Please come back when the Patsies have played someone with a winning record. 7-16 thus far. Power Rankings after week 5 in the NFL. The Patriots opponents have a horrid record in 7-16, the Cowboys opponents record is an even more pathetic 6-19. Neither played well in week 5 the Cowboys won as time expired. The Patriots had more 3 and outs than they have ever had in a game this season. This will be an over the top game in terms of how much the press is going to hype it up. I will admit one thing I cant wait for sunday it should be a great game.
- I just rear ended.

Cowboys/Bills
I don't think the Pats need any turnovers to win that game. I'm not your typical fan, just coaches son who knows that if a rookie QB can light us up, Brady is gonna torch us. I haven't forgotten that our best corners have been hurt, we have no pass rush, least not consistently, and the Boys running game does nothing to support Romo early in the game. In short, Romo is having to put the game on his shouldrs early because of the lack of yards from the running game. Also, he's pretty good in the pass game most weeks. Winning has a way of making you forget how bad your pass defense has been. I haven't forgotten Eli and Plexico torched us opening day with 35 points. I don't think Bela cheat will leave out a few wrinkles that get Roy Williams singled up on one of there many fine receivers. By the way, even though he has 3 rings, the Boys will still show up and play the Patriots. The Pats have won 5 games also, and their opponents records are 7-16, so the Pats have beaten who this year? Record says 5-0, but they haven't beaten anybody either!!!!!! Matt I agree with you the teams we have faced havent been great. SD was supposed to be a AFC powerhouse, they turned out to be very overrated. The Jets made the playoffs last year, but are in some serious trouble. The Patriots are 5-0 as well as the Cowboys, The Cowboys opponents record is 6-19, the Patriots opponents record is 7-17. Hopefully the few injuries we have they will be able to bounce back into action. The main notables are Seymour, Maroney, and 2 members on the O-line and some DBs. It will be a good game and either teams first big test for sure.

Cowboys/Bills
If this is how you guys go 5-0. Im quite confident that a 6 turnover game will bring you guys your first loss versus the Patriots. It will be a good game.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Well I havent posted lately and today I just had to get out on the water. Boat was in the water at 7am on Cobbets today, in a heavy downpour, came in at 6:30pm with a light mist. The rain came and went all day with a few heavy down pours. I havent had a day like this in quite some time and thought I would share. If anyone else braved the conditions of heavy downpours and rain so cold it had fog rolling of the lake you were rewarded. Conservatively Id say I caught atleast 30 fish today probably more like 40 but hell I cant keep track. For big fish and there were a few I myself caught 1 3lb SM, 1 4lb LM, 1 5lb LM. They all came on topwater except for the 5lb LM, he was caught on a jig. Well hope you guys had as good a day as I did. Im gonna rest my arm now before it falls off.

Creating Enviroment Friendly Structure
Well depends on what you call enviroment friendly. You could sink some trees and create a brush pile or go so far as to construct a rigid PVC "plastic" brush pile that will never rot or leach anything into the water on the other hand it will be around long after your gone as well.
-
How bout' dem Bo Sox
Oh does it get any better than this a walk off by Manny, Sox up 2-0 in the ALDS. While the Yankees are struggling and are down 0-2. Does it get any better? Im smiling... GO SOX!!!!

whats the REAL size of this bass?

Lake Turning Over! ????#2
Well put WRB to be honest I forgot what the ideal temp was for water being the highest density I knew it was either 39°F or 40°F hence the range I put.

How bout' dem Bo Sox
I hear you just hope that Dice-K doesnt get rattled. Im optimistic though. I just would like to see the crowd at Fenway after the win tonight... "Sweet Caroline, Bah Bah Bah Good Times Never felt so good, So Good, So Good..." You hear what Im saying?

Lake Turning Over! ????#2
Lakes turn over on their own accord but it all has to do with temperature. It usually happens around 37-43°F. There where some rather in depth discussion on this last year but from what I have been told. What happens is that the water above the thermocline in the Fall because of the cooler air temps becomes cooler, heavier and more dense than the water that was trapped under the thermocline all summer. Then the two masses of water flip or turnover. This is characterized by the water becoming very stained. I dont know how far down South lakes turn over. I know in NH they havent so all bets are on that in Kansas they probably havent either.
