  1. I couldnt agree more. I have a 74lb thrust motor, most of the time I am on it is usually on at about 40% power. If I wanted to I could probably get 2 or 3 trips out of a full charge but I always recharge when I park it.
  2. Heh... This is another question that will never die. Both motors are great, to be honest I doubt you will notice a 1lb of thrust difference. I personally have a Minn Kota. What Al Wolbach pointed out is true that a lighted directional arrow is mighty helpful while night fishing or during low light times. My Minn Kota came with a lighted directional arrow, so it does come in handy I will admit. For $30 take your pick you cant go wrong with either of them. If it where me I would personally go with the Minn Kota, but thats me.
  3. Well I may not make any friends here but this is my opinion. Like most celebrities, when caught in the wrong they and their publicists come out and lie/deny any wrong doing. This happens so often and so many times that I think people become desensitized to these types of things. It takes a person with allot of character and courage to face upto to his wrong doings and try to right them. In the case of Jimmy Huston, I for one had never seen or heard of that video or the story behind it. Kudos to Jimmy for righting what was wrong. On the Vick issue what he did was horrid, but to lie too fans(some of them kids), friends, boss, and coworkers, then come out with the truth. Dont forget people this was NOT the first time this person lied to people when the truth came out and he denied/lied about it. The "Ron Mexico" escapades, or the Water Bottle incident. This is just the latest in a string of poor judgments from him. Now how many times do you turn the other cheek? How many times do you give some one the benefit of the doubt, only too revert back to their own bad decisions? My mother was hit by a drunk driver. She has had numerous surgeries on her legs so she would be able to walk again with no pain (unsuccessfully). She was an elementary school teacher at the time, she was on her way home 2 cars behind a school bus filled with elementary school children, 3:30pm in the afternoon. This drunk driver pulled out to pass and then had to veer back in and hit my mothers car. The EMS at the scene were more concerned with how drunk he was rather than his injuries sustained in the accident. This idiot had 4 DUI convictions in Massachusetts and 3 in New Hampshire prior to my moms accident. I agree with Muddy to give someone help who needs it. The other side to that is at what time do these people take a stand and make some hard decisions on their course in life. These are adults here not little kids. When do these people become responsible for their own actions, and the consequences that they bring?
  4. I couldnt agree more. Sad thing is its just simple economics. It costs allot less to make something like lures/rods/reels/line over seas and ship it here. The amount that the people actually making the products receive for pay a week is peanuts, compared to what an avg American would receive for pay for the same work. In around about way we (American consumers) are subsidizing the growth in 2nd and 3rd world countries that manufacturer the goods we buy.
  5. I think I said it in the original post but I had greased the connections and used 2 layers of heat shrink tape and a layer of elec tape over that. My thoughts are that it is with the light and not my connections. I have yet to take it apart fully but plan to this week (hopefully).
  6. Oakland Raiders The NFL definitely needs to clean up its act. With the Vick case and Pacman case and other past cases they need a stricter behavior/enforcement policy. If these people can take the money, fame, and sponsorships that they so desperately seek then they should act like a respectable "Law Abiding" citizen. That or the NFL will find itself in the court of public opinion trying to save its image.
  7. Wow, I wasnt aware of this. I think that in fact is a weak argument fof hunting, why not just put them on a leash and shot them. It takes the sport out of it in my opinion. Good post even if it is old news...
  8. Other than contacting Nitro themselves I do not know off hand. I have a 94 Nitro myself. The windshield although not broken is aged and "cloudy". My uncle who owns a marina warned me that replacement for these "BassBoat type windshields" are very very expensive. So he said unless they are completely broken they are usually not worth replacing.
  9. Good Luck in your search Glenn. As I have allot of experience in handling patents and trademark illustrations that is where my expertise ends. I hope you find someone that will come aboard and fit in nicely.
  10. I by no means am an expert at this type of subject. My advice go into the store and look at them side by side. I think if you do that you will go with the plasma. I think that they are just so much cleaner and crisper for picture quality.
  11. Well here in NH the ice gets thick, usually pretty fast too. I have been known to use my boat as an Ice breaker and plow through ice as thick as 1/2in. When the ice does get thick I am not a big fan of Ice Fishing. I take the time to reorganize my tackle, give the reels a thorough cleaning and lube, give the trailer and boat a once over and build it its home for its winter sleep. There are always the fishing and hunting shows to go too. Other than that its wait till mid March and hope for a quick and warm thaw. This year I didnt get out until the first week in April.
  12. Well it seems that the Red Sox have forgotten how to swing a bat lately. Amen that they still have a 5 game lead. Ortiz is visibly not himself at the plate and that has been the case all year. Lets hope the remaining squad can get it together.
  13. That goes double for me too...
  14. +1 well said justfishin OH GREAT NOW SENKO 77 Is giving dating advice, thats like me giving boat handeling advice ROFL ;D ;D ;D

  16. I think I need to move to Virginia. Gas here is $2.79. I am sure there are more expensive places to fill up than here though.
  17. I used to play CoD and CoD/UO also Q3 back in the day. However I dont have the time like I used too to game, I do miss it. Was a good way of passing the time in the middle of winter, when there wasnt much to do.
  18. LOL Too funny RW!! I have good luck with the Pointer and Husky Jerk. I will be picking up some X-raps soon tho.
  19. Oh GMAN totally forgot about those quantum POS reels. After that I switched to Abu Garcia, Shimano and Diawa and have never bought a quantum reel again. So my list. Quantum ex 300 reels Berkley tournament strength line (can u say one hookset and you break it off constantly) Berkley vanish fluorocarbon Dean Rojas Spro Frogs paint peels off these on the first fish, at $8 each I was pretty disappointed with that. Mike's Silver Buddy replicas the finish and paint comes off in your hands (silver tainted finger tips, Lovely) Poe's wooden crank baits (I have allot of these the wood has cracked and now they suspend/sink)
  20. Yea nothing like having them paid off. I just see these huge rigs and the price tag that comes with them to run them, I dont know how some people do it. Kudos to you guys for having them and being payment free!
  21. Been using the same type hardware here. Never had a problem every so often you will need to tighten them up but other than that they are pretty good.
  22. Could be the power of your motor, if the thrust is real low you wont have the power to run through those heavy weeds. Granted I live north of where the weeds and vegetation become a real problem but I havent had a time yet where I had to stop and clean off my 74lb thrust minn kota prop, yes sure I need to clean off the trolling motor shaft every so often but never the prop.
  23. So last night as I pull my boat out of the water, hook the trailer lights back up. I smell the nice aroma of an electrical fire. I look down as I walk back to lock the gate of the landing and notice I have smoke billowing out of my 80" wide marker light. I run to the trailer connection and unplug it from the truck and it quickly goes out. I have no idea how it happened considering I had 2 layers of heat shrink tape on it followed by another layer of elec tape. These lights were fine for 2 years. I have noticed though that these so called "submersible" units are a joke as in it seems the LEDs are slowly dieing and that there is moisture inside the housing for the lights. It boggles my mind that we can have a nuclear powered submarine, but cant design boat trailer lights to last more than 5 years. I know it is most likely engineered obsolescence at work here. It just gets me that these poor quality products get to see the light of day. I mean what if I was somewhere else and didnt need to lock the gate and just drove away? My boat and truck could very well have gone up in smoke. Im just venting, yes btw I unplug the wire harness before it goes in the water, just in case that comes up....
