  1. I'm heading out this weekend on Saturday morning. Possibly Sunday morning. Anyone else headed out?
  2. Sorry for your loss buddy. It's tough, but like all losses, it gets easier. My first dog died in my arms on my parents kitchen floor last March. I have 2 other dogs now, but I frequently think about Riley and his goofy antics. - Dale
  3. So who is catching them? I went out on Saturday morning at sunrise and fished until around 10:30. I threw a buzz bait early and had 2 big blowups on it. They both just slapped at it though, so no hookups. Couldnt get them to hit a chatter or spinnerbait either. Thinkin now that I probably should have been flipping into the inside edge of the weedline. What are your reports?
  4. Got out on the water this weekend! The boat ran great. Only fished for about 45 minutes, but was on the water for about 4 hours breaking in the motor. Still have a lot to learn about the electronics. Anyway, a bit of a report from the lake... I put in at 3 Mile. Water temp was 58. In the main lake it was about 56. There are already pretty thick weeds on some of the points. Lower end of the lake was pretty muddy. Seemed like people were scattered everywhere fishing. Didn't seem to be much of a pattern. Some people flipping into the shore, others fishing offshore. Seems like the fish should be in spawn mode at this point? I'm hoping to get out again this week to get some fishing in now that the majority of the motor break in is done. - Dale
  5. It's too quiet on this page... Has anyone been out recently? Any reports?
  6. Picked up the boat over the weekend! Unfortunately, I won't be on the water until Sunday afternoon. I'll be starting the motor break-in and trying to tune in my electronics. If you see a silver/unpainted Crestliner motoring around thats me!
  7. Were you out today? What is the temp like?
  8. Good to know about the prop. My previous boat had junk electronics on it. I figured with the new boat I would treat myself to nicer electronics. I'm having them put a Helix 7SI unit at the helm and the bow. It's going to be a whole new game learning the lake and learning new electronics. Yikes. Where did you pick up a topo map? Do they have them at the park building?
  9. Interesting. Did you happen to change the prop on your motor? I'm going to see how it runs before I do anything, but I've been told that I should consider changing the prop. Most of the time it will be just me and probably 1 of my dogs. The rest of the time it'll be me and 1 other person. As long as I can plane out I think I'll be happy. Where do you put in? Or does it depend? I was thinking my "regular" launch will be the 3 Mile launch since that is the closest to my house.
  10. 2016 Crestliner 17 Storm. I just sold my '05 Stratos (used to fish at Penn Warner Club). I'm hoping I have the boat in hand for my birthday in April. That would be a hell of a birthday present! - Dale
  11. Not yet, Hoping to get out there soon. Working on a new boat right now ...I should be fishing in a couple weeks. My wife and I moved to Perkasie last May and I was only able to get out on the lake 2 times last year, both limited to Haycock. Can't wait to get out there and start learning the whole lake. - Dale
  12. Torresdale Financial. Boring, I know. But everyone should insure their boats/rvs/atvs etc. Thats what I'm here for! I'm over by the Bowers Marine display. Looking forward to meeting you!
  13. Hey everyone! I'm not sure if anyone is going to the Sportsman show in Oaks this weekend. If you are, stop by my company booth #518 and say hey! I'd love to meet some people from the forum! - Dale
  14. Not sure if anyone saw this, but I saw on Iaconelli's facebook page that he just shot a video/show this week at Penn Warner. Looks like the pics were from Manor lake.
  15. hey I know this post is from a while back, but I was just looking at this rod last night. It doesn't say what action the rod is. Feels a lot like a moderate action to me. What type of baits do you use it for? Thanks - Dale
  16. Now this is an interesting concept. Has anyone seen this? Or even heard of it? I thought this was a really interesting concept and design. I doubt it tracks really well in the water, but the 360 idea is neat. What do you think? Do you think it is a practical alternative to a kayak or canoe? It's a pretty steep price tag for something that does not have any accessories with it. Watch and enjoy! - Dale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrE5o_x-1ak
  17. Send her a really nice picture to prove you're not lying. Simple as that. She'll know better than to doubt you next time too.
  18. Hey everyone. I'm a budget fisherman, as many of us are. I have never owned a nice rod, so all of my rods are in the lower price categories. I picked up a Daiwa Aird for texas rigs a few months back and FINALLY was able to use it over the weekend. I set the hook on a bass, which was in a SMALL patch of weeds. Next thing I know, the rod snapped in half. I've never had this happen, but I'd have to imagine that it was a fluke thing. Here are the pics of the broken rod. Has anyone had experience with the Daiwa Aird rod, 7ft MHF? If so, have you had any breakage issues? Thanks in advance for your help! - Dale
  19. I haven't fished this lake in years. I am thinking about taking a run up there on Thursday to fish. Has anyone fished recently? Any luck? Pointers? Thanks - Dale
  20. Is the PA restriction apply to the motor(s) in use as a total. Ex, if it is a 20hp limit, could I run twin 20hp motors? Would that even make sense? - Dale
  21. If you were to fish the Nock with an electric motor only, what ramp would you put in at during the summer months? I'm hoping to get out there in the next few weeks, but I am limited to using my trolling motor. Thanks! - Dale
  22. I'm sure its been brought up. I know what happens when we assume, but I think its safe to assume that their reasoning is that people don't abide by speed limits on the road either, so why would they on the water. No matter how its cut, people are going to be ticked. If they make it a speed limit, the people who spent money to make a little tourney ready jon boat with a 20hp go 40mph are going to be ticked. That being said, I'm looking more into light tunnel hull boats. Looks like the Sea Ark 1652 MVT might be a good option.
  23. Yea, I checked with parks and rec and they said the same thing. Still on the hunt for a boat. Hoping to get a good deal over the winter on one.
  24. That is a great idea. I know nothing about jet outboards though. Is a 30/20 jet considered a 20? Would that be allowed on the Nock?
  25. We are in the same boat....no pun intended. I can't bring myself to fish from a jon after fishing from a bass boat. It may be screwed up to say that, but oh well haha. I've been looking into small "bass boats" like the Lowe 16/17 Storm or the Tracker 160, or used 165. Tough market for those though...
