  1. Topwater!
  2. Wait.. if your pb is 22lbs how come your profile says your pb is 9-10lbs?
  3. I do exactly this, and i switch up my retrieval technique, first just minor things but if that doesn't work, I change retrieval technique completely, or change my lure.
  4. Well for me it seems like every time I get a lunker its on a noticeably perfect cast, with topwater, at first light.
  5. Make sure the fish has the lure in its mouth before you set the hook, or you'll just yank the lure out of the water, and the fish will swim away, maybe a few local fish with it too. Which will slow the bite. Also theres the bad luck rule, "if you catch a fish on the first cast you'll reel in empty for the day." Its proven true for me.
  6. Cause I love it. And because all your worries wash away. For me anyway. Its hard to describe, I just love it.
  7. I have a mount of my grandpas old pb, around 5.5 lbs. He caught a 7 lber recently though.
  8. Nobody likes a smart bass.
  9. I get skunked sometimes, I try to avoid talking about how my fishing day went after that, but if someone asks Im not gonna lie, so I just tell them I already caught all of the bass in that lake yesterday.
  10. You just have to know when to say the hook is to deep. I carry a pare of pliers that can cut hooks which helps a lot with getting the lure out. When I gut hook a fish I cut the hook right behind the barb, and slide the hook out. BUT it all depends on what kind of hook and how deep. There are a few different things you can do.
  11. Im sorry.. I probably catch 3 or 4 fish an hour so I only fish like 2.5 to 3 hours. I've never though about it so sorry I did my math wrong.
  12. South FL. Thick grass, sand spurs, and somtimes mud.. Its kinda tiring, but catching a big bass is so worth it. I go out at first light, until about 11am. So 5 hours. On a good day 1 to 2, ruffly 3 pounders, and 4 or 5 little 1 pounders. On a not so good day take away the 3 pounders, and all thats left are the little one pounders. And on a great day throw in a 5-7 pounder.
  13. That is my go to lure. Almost every bass over 5 lbs that I've caught I caught on a Ribbit.
  14. I like to reel about 5 feet and then let it sink ruffly 2 feet, 9 times out of 10 the bass bite right as soon as you stop reeling, for me anyway... and twitching it is always good.
  15. I feel ashamed to say, I really try to buy blue, or red hooks... because it looks cool, and I like it. But the only thing that matters is this.. and I always hook hook more bass when I use offset hooks.
  16. You need to have confidence in whatever you fish with, or you wont catch fish.
  17. I believe the only reason that people catch more fish on there go to lure, is because they use that lure most of the time, and so inevitably you catch more fish on that lure.
  18. I haven't fished in a lake where a bass wouldn't kill a perch colored lure.
  19. Sorry.. Berkley Cherrywoods are good for the money.
  20. Berkely Cherrywood are good for the money. The Shimano Crucial is my favorite rod that I have.
