When it comes to tackle it comes to 3 things 1- confidence in that lure 2 -colors 3 -that lure i chose As far as confidence goes, i believe if its worked in the past it'll work again . colors at least in my op have a part in my strategy for my fishing . Then the type or shape of that lure itself . Getting back to confidence in my lures ,i think that whatever species of fish you or i am after see a meal that wasn't there before and gonna either eat it or not . Then there's the color factor we think and is good to think works for our fishing? like i think whatever fish we are after now see a meal that wasn't there before, and now is , in my op. type or shape of that lure by its silhouette that species of fish we're after see that as well. in my op confidence is about 25% and colors 50% and type or shape 25% in my op ? what's your op?

This doesn't apply to areas that have warm climates during fall and winter but those that have cold climates . Since its fall and with not much time till winter, is your fishing going like you planned ? or not like you hoped it would be? Where i'm at there's probably a good 3 wks left and like to get another 10 or 15 more bass if possible. So what's your outlook on these last days you have left fishing before winter gets here? your op.

I know we have our tb full of various colored lures ,but did you ever take a lure that didn't match the hatch or the conditions you were fishing and did just as good than if you did have the conditions and color met for catching your fish.That lure,color shouldn't be working under the conditions by your thinking and methods of fishing but is working anyway.

just to let you know a little hint about those big worms you have gotten , just cause their not working for you now,and might not be because of the bass want something smaller doesn't mean they won't take it later on. it varies in my op ,but will have its place and time when those big worms you have will tear up the water with those big bass!

Some of us I assume have fished by bank and boat , but maybe not , For those who have done both do you think you catch more from bank fishing than boat fishing ? or haven't noticed or keep track ? I myself don't think it matters. I don't have a boat,but have fished from one many times and can go where you can't from shore ,but fishing from the bank there's also places a boat can't go either. And done good both ways. So you think you do better by bank or boat fishing? what's your op?

Some of us that have aquired a pb have gotten it on a specific lure or bait certainly. And whatever rod/reel combo you had that you caught your pb . I was just wondering if you still have that gear,lure, etc. you caught your pb with and if you still use it ? I myself don't have any of that, would be something to have and reminisce over with that pb . That was 31 yrs ago though and lost it over the yrs . Still remember it like it happened yesterday catching that pb and what lure too. I know i used a spinning rod/reel combo but can't remember which brand it was. So do you still have that gear,lure, etc that caught your pb or not? and do you still use it ? some might not use it because sentimental reasons, first pb and all , and some might continue using it and doesn't matter either way if they use it or don't. like your thoughts on this. And like i said ( wish i had my gear tackle ,etc..) you don't think about that stuff until its gone. only thing left is my bass on the wall , Thank god.

We've either been into fishing or just got into fishing, but this has to do with all of us some how i think . do you think since you started fishing is it easier and is like you have a talent or knack for the sport? Where when you go out there fishing it's like you know or doesn't take long to learn the tactics,patterns,etc.. when you were shown or taught these tactics,patterns,etc .. or does it take a while to learn for you to get certain tactics patterns ,etc. to work for you? does this apply to you ? and how does it effect your fishing if it does?

For those of us that started fishing ,or those of us who've been into it for some time now , I was curious about how you think you learn your fishing tactics,strategy,patterns,etc.. from . I thought about this just now, and asked myself how i learned most of the ways,tactics,pattern's,etc.. that i fish with come from and use today . And having asked that i'd have to say it's probably 50% hands on ,25% reading or forums like this , and the other 25% being shown, tv fishing shows , or someone showing me. all about fishing. So how do you breakdown your information you get or use today for your fishing success?

I've had a bait net now for a good long time, and thought of maybe taking it with me come next years fishing season . One question came to mind and is a darn good one too. Is it going to be ok to use a bait net without getting in trouble ? The regulation 2014 fishing season don't have anything saying any different. So if I use a net for catching minnow's do i get in trouble ? And if it's not written or posted somewhere, how's one to know your not to do that ? Kinda of a grey area question , but a good one also . So what's your op?

We've been doing into fishing for some time now. We also have many knots we like to use,but is there a way of knowing which knot is stronger than say other knots? and if so how ? I know they have a way of measuring lb test lines and such. but was just curious about knots and do you think it matters and effects your fishing? I don't know for certain ,but believe it does matter. I've always used a polomar knot for a good 20yrs now, and found it doesn't break at the knot where it is tied. There's alot of knots to go with and like the polomar knot to be my choice. what's your op?

We've been fishing this year with some success with our tactics, techniques , patterns , and use of lures . And which of these have you acquired from this forum ? or other sources have you from helped your fishing this year? And think your gonna use more of because it made a better way you now fish today.

you are in my op the best people i've met, not in person but nonetheless. i've made some strange ways of posting something's and some have a difficult time understanding . i've thought more about that too and might have to do with some family issues i'm dealing with, nothing i can't handle,but isn't easy mind you. i do have and am not lying either when i tell you this, 8 kids . and some are messing up , so anyway's , i'll work on it so its easier to understand for you . and just to tell you all sorry also. oh yeh, i don't smoke that stuff that's legal out here. but what i'm dealing with as far as these kid issues i'm dealing with maybe i should . lol.. gets a little stressful in my op .

We've been into fishing or for those starting out built a tackle box full of various tackle and such ,and i assume have top name brand lures or tackle that are in that tb,but how about the secondary tackle or off brand tackle ? do you have any of that ?and do you think it does just as good as the name brand tackle that you have? there's alot of tackle companies that are secondary or off brand tackle ,lures,etc.. i think in my op does just the same as the name brand tackle,lures etc... what's your op?

i at least assume we've fished with plastic baits, worms ,grubs,etc... but when we used whatever color we chose that was the right color ? because that fish hit it? did color have that much to do with that fish being caught ,or was it a reaction strike ? or simply hungry ? or don't we know that answer. it may be the case,but how do you think and do you think about color playing that much of a factor catching most of your fish? it may be just a silhouette to the fish that looks tempting and there's it's meal . what's your op?

it's happened a few times since i've been fishing ,but only just a handful in my time fishing . where i went out fishing and got more bass than i could keep and count. and just about whatever i decided to use for bait or lures worked just as well getting those bass . seems unusual but has happened a few times. have you had this occur in your time fishing also? we had days catching average amounts of bass for sure, but those few days that just can't explain for those bass, but had gotten on the days you thought you weren't . and wherever you seemed to look for those bass ,there they were and didn't expect to be? simply put the day that supposed to be terrible as far as the fishing goes went great with awesome results and wasn't supposed too by your standards.

has it happened where anyone in fishing maybe you , for whatever species you were after and got their pb that day ,then caught one bigger than the one before right after or later that day? so 2 pb in one day. it's possible i think but haven't done it either.imo who's done it ?or hasn't happened yet?

This has to do with when you caught your pb or fish of whatever species you fish for to this day . i'll tell you how and what i felt like when i caught my pb, it happens to this day but not always , when i catch small or med size bass i get a very tiny adrenalin rush and sometimes not any , but when i caught my pb after i finally fought it for about 10 min and got it inside the boat, i was offered a beer from my brother and couldn't drink the d**n thing because my heart rate was way up ,im out of breath just about and was shaking quite a bit all in 10 min, that's one time i'll always remember and never forget . what was your pb experience like? and how did it effect you if any? and does that still happen or not so much? it must have done something ,some how ,some way when you caught your pb ,i haven't anything even come close to my pb experience i went through . what's your story?

just like the topic states is the question,and when you get to whatever body of water you've arrived at, do you have a strategy or game plan that your going with prior to hitting the water or when your on the water, then put one together? some plan ,some don't . what do you do in your op? i plan ahead prior to hitting the water, it works 85% of the time.taking all factors in account,

We've been into fishing and found our so called special go to or favorite lure , but how many more times have you changed it or did you change it to to where it became your favorite ? and are you thinking of changing it again? and why? i used to think an original rapala floating minnow was for a long time but now isn't, and found i replaced it with plastic baits , worms ,grubs,etc.. its still on my top 5 lures i put in use but not my #1 like my plastics . what's your op on your favorite and have you or are you thinking of changing it?

Has it occurred where you've seen a body of water you thought or figured not to be known for having any big bass that really isn't from other lakes or whatever bodies of water you fish that are known for having big bass,fish etc. than went to just try and fish once and caught a bigger fish you figured not to be in there but is? and is just as big than the other areas of water you're used to getting big bass,fish from. thinking all this time (i didn't think there was one like this in here but found out different). might have underated the body of water but won't again,after the experience that just happened where you didn't expect it too but did, catching that bass or whatever species your fishing for and didn't think to be but is,

We've gotten into fishing for bass or whatever species were after, and have developed some kind of system we now use and have developed,tackle, techniques, patterns and gear we chosen for fishing. but has it ever happened to where you tried a technique or pattern or whatever it maybe and it wasn't getting results for you and just decided to not use anymore, but then just some time after decided to go back and try again and is now working and wasn't getting results before but now is for some unknown reason, thinking to yourself how in the world can this be, and also found out it is one of your best you now use and produces more fish than other tactics you used that outdid the one you swore wasn't before but now is . have you had that happen? i think that is possible and probable also in my op ,so what's your op?

this has to with those that have gotten a pb of whatever species, do you think the lake you caught your pb out of is the best or #1 place to this day? one might think that but it may not be also . just cause i caught my pb that was in a back area water that led into a main lake and caught it there doesn't necessarily make me rank it #1 . same goes with gear and tackle imo as well , what's your op? i know i won't forget that place and how i caught it either,but i was in the right place fishing at the right time and the pb just happened to be there.i don't think that pb cared to much if any about gear and tackle for that matter, when i caught mine. what and how do you see it in your op on the lake,tackle, and gear you used to catch your pb? are they #1 still to this day?

Everyone here has started fishing at some point obviously , being introduced to the art of fishing,angling etc. but what was it or what made you say to yourself doing it the first time or maybe longer than that this is me! or this is what i want to pursue ? i myself was a kid about 5or 7yrs of age when i started fishing with my parents on vacation,and was catching sunfish,bullhead's,and bass for the most part . i think the first fish i caught ,don't remember what it was, but that's all it took for me . and don't know how i've decided to pursue that species the largemouth bass, but i'm glad i did. so what did it take for you to get fascinated or interested in bass fishing or just fishing in general? i don't know if people get that into fishing as quick as i did, i can't speak for them,just myself . what's your op? i think i'm an above average fisherman after all the methods or ways i've developed for fishing for bass,an average one for everything else, so how do you rate yourself doing fishing in general?

This is football season and just like your op on who you think the best coach in the nfl is ? be it past or present ? i personally think bill walsh is of all time , and if it could be arranged but can't ,could beat the packers when they had vince lombardi. imo. and what game would you like to see if it could be arranged happen but can't? if i was to see the ultimate game it would be the 1981 49ers against the 1978 steeler's, that will never happen but that would be one heck of a game, imo

has it ever happened when you went out fishing and were not getting any kind of hit's ,bite's,etc.. or fish from the whole time you were out on whatever body of water you were fishing, with all the gear and tackle that you have also and still not catching any fish, then let's say someone like a kid just came and has the kid gear and tackle and start's to fish , after you been there all day with no results . then say within 5 or 10 min he's hooked that fish you were after but he caught and then looked at you and smiled . knowing he showed you up? have you had anything like that happen fishing ?and how did it in your op? i believe that happened to me once. agony of the kid that day and defeat all on the same day.lol.. it does happen i found out. have you been shown up? what's your story?
