  1. These guys also came off the same piece of structure
  2. Havin a blast breakin jaws in Southern Ontario. Fish were caught off a ship wreck in 48ft of water. We stood on them for 4 hours straight. Standard black/blue flipping jigs on a 7 simax with 60 lb power pro was their medicine
  3. This is extremely true on docks. Fished a tournament last weekend. Had well over a dozen skips under a seadoo lift with zero hits. Skipped in and let it sit for longer then usual and watch the line jump. Fish on. Ended up winning big fish for the tournament.
  4. Cool video. Some great insight on feeding. Question for you guys. That video was obvouisly made in the 80's, early 90's. Almost guaranteed he was using mono. With todays braid and other superlines how many times would he of broken some jaws?? Still one of the best videos all time. If ya have a chance watch his full video
  5. Its been a mix of deep water and shallow for me. But my bigger fish are coming of sand with chunk rocks with single isolated cabbage strands. Fun how a smallmouth will relate to one piece of green cabbage and try to hide in crystal clear water. Its definetly been a weird year here as well for typical seasonal patterns. Makes it fun though figuring them out. There one day, gone the next
  6. Sheephead in Lake Simcoe? Have to call bs on that one. Lol. Congrats on the little bass assassin. Big lad already at over 9lbs!!
  7. Loosing in my mind is better then winning. If ya win what do you learn? If ya come top ten your always thinkin of what, why, when and were you went wrong. You learn more as an angler loosing then you do winning!! Just sayin.
  8. Bubble trail?? You wouldnt get a bubble trail with a bubbleless regulator and in depths shallower then 30ft you can remain under the surface on a double tank for over 18 hours! If someone want to win bad enough there is always a way!!
  9. Its a amazing smallmouth fishery. No to be a a@# but those you can catch quite frequently on that body of water. Its really not a big deal. A true giant will hit double digits. Just think of the size those would be by october!! Your playin with world class fish then! But 4-5-6s are honestly what you can catch every day of the week. Just lucky to live on such a great clear water fishery.
  10. Fatty on the left was 6.90. One on the right was 4.25
  11. 7.40 last week
  12. Roadwarrior i notice your a mod on this forum. Maybe you can help out with this issue. Or you can post it for memaybe
  13. Not getting the hang of loading pics. But i will keep trying. And no those smallies came out of Lake Simcoe, Ontario, Canada
  14. Keeps saying file was to big. Send me your email and i can see if you can post it if ya want. But 5-6s are common on that particular body of water
  15. This is the 7.40 last week. I will dig up the 9.8 pic. We get lots of 5-6 s daily. 5lb fish on Lake Simcoe is quite common.
  16. What species are you wanting to target, and is PA or OH you only options?? Maybe consider going north of the border if thats a option. Sept is a great month in many of the great lakes and also inland Ontario and Quebec fisheries. Just a thought.
  17. There is alot of cheating going on these days in the tournaments. As soon as you put fishing, money and males into a competive sport its gonna happen. Some are networking with other non anglers and some goes as far as to break every rule to win. Crap, we even get cheated by all forms of goverment. Why would you think fishing would be any different! I will say the B.A.S.S and FLW format is great. But whos to say a diver with a bubbleless regulator isnt hookin fish on a guys rod!! Diver can dive for unlimited time in 30ft or less! Just something to think about when ya watch a 30+lb bag of 5 smallies get weighed in next time. If its to good to be true it usually is!!
  18. 7'6 feneick aetos 8lb test 1lb diameter, 6ft leader of 4lb flouro Any 2500 series reel Dry creek 2 3/4 with 1/4 tapered tube head. Smoke or green pumpkin in colour. Super long casts and dead slow drag. Most try to work the tube to fast. I have caught more bigger smallies just letting it sit on the bottom. Techique was perfected to a science the csfl tournament series applied a no ancoring rule!! Be eating a sandwich watchin a smallie cart wheel. You can beef up your line size depending on water clarity but this is my set up for crystal clear natural lakes were visabitity is 20+ft down.
  19. Roboworm 4" Berkley gulp leech 3" black. To get better action on the leech take a ultiliy knife a fillet the leech length wise makin two leechs. Sometime this is the ticket for finicky smallies. Put the flat side up. Xzone slammer 3" and tail hook it. This way when you lower your rod tip it glides away from you. This is really effective mid summer in depth less then 12ft.
  20. No way its a 7lb fish. Lucky craft man did a stellar job comparing fish to fish. Btw L.C.M beautiful skie. Smile says all in both pics
  21. 9.8lbs Lake Simcoe Ontario August 2003. Place is loaded with 5-6lb smallies. Biggest this summer is 7.40.
  22. Tryin to figure out deep water smallies on a natural lake. Any suggestions what to look for? Temps, depth, water clarity, avalible forage?
