  1. What I thought too. Luckily I figured out they were off the weeds burning the bait back to the boat when I got bit. I did catch a few right up on the bank but the majority were between the boat and the weeds or on the edge of the docks.
  2. I was out Sunday. Started with a sweet beaver, but they really liked a rage craw green with red flake texas rigged. I'd say something with some flap to it. The fish I caught were not in the weeds, they might have been following it out and the water was starting to clear up.
  3. The wife wanted to go kayak on Friday night so we went to Lenexa, I grabbed a frog and a beaver and did pretty good with both. It's way different fishing from a kayak, but good fun. Went to Lonestar yesterday morning, I haven't caught the quantity of fish like that in a while. If someone would have been with me we'd probably be in the 101 club. Was doing alright with a beaver then I caught one bringing it back to the boat so I switched to a rage craw for a little more action on the bait. They ate that thing up. Was catching 2 or 3 fish from each side of a dock, grabbing it on the fall like it was a race to get the bait. Once it started to sprinkle it got even better and every fish was jumping once I hooked it. Had to quit to help a resident get their boat that was halfway across the lake because they didn't tie it up good and the motor wouldn't start. I offered to help them find it when they came by in a canoe and asked me if I saw it. I quit after that since it was starting to get nasty.
  4. Chris wouldn't use it anyway.
  5. Whatever you do don't give Chris S. any input on where to go. Best thing to do is let him think he's going where he wants to go then call an audible.
  6. I found if you fish a sissy stick you get a lot more steps and burn more calories. Just proves fishing is exercise.
  7. Me. Yep I'm going to show.
  8. I wish, I have to go to Stockton for a bid opening.
  9. I had the one you gave me as a replacement. Still waiting on the rest of the replacements. I'd probably still be waiting for it to hit bottom though since we were fishing deep.
  10. Got the opportunity to fish a Green Lake in Wisconsin for a few hours yesterday afternoon with a couple of guys who have fished it for 20 years. One boat went after fish and I went after big fish. The guy I was with threw back 4 lb smallmouth like they they were dinks. When I hooked that first Lake Trout I thought I had the one I was looking for. The big smallies just were not biting with the weather change.
  11. But I proved you don't need that color or neds.
  12. Just passed by El Dorado and it looks like chocolate milk.
  13. Chris S and I started out yesterday with the plan of going walleye fishing but we saw way too many boats in tow going with the same idea so I called and audible and we headed west on 68 and south on 35 instead. Turned out to be a good idea. Started out slow up on the dam then I grabbed a white spybait and immediately hooked up a 6" fish then a super dink maybe 3" then a couple of the typical 12" dam fish. When we were about to leave the dam something huge took the spybait, felt like I hooked a log but it was moving. It took off in front of the boat then came right under the boat while my rod looked like an ugly stick commercial. Probably a catfish never even got it close to the surface before it came off. Went to the coves and I immediately hooked up again with the spybait, drove Chris to resort to the ned. The spot we really wanted to go had two boats already on it so we went across the cove an I barely had the trolling motor down and Chris hooked up a good fish while we proceeded to catch 4 or 5 more those boats left and we went over there and went on a tear. Was like that all day. Crappie even like the spybait, even though Chris hates it. The smallmouth were slamming that thing like they slam a jerkbait.
  14. I wouldn't wait to locate the TRD's if you can get zinkerz get some and go fishing. I can't imagine the TRD works any better.
  15. The pixy on a MLXF rod will do it, I just recently did it. It does have a totally different feel than fishing it on spinning gear. I'll most likely keep using spinning gear for the ned the majority of the time.
  16. In Canada, you snap the neck and throw a walleye that size on the floor of the boat for lunch!
  17. You really don't want to see the pics I have and sizzle forgot to take a pic of the biggest fish landed in my boat. I do have this one appropriate for the public view. this one came from under the boat and destroyed some off brand swimbait Raymond threw at me one day to try out.
  18. Thought you were on the roster.
  19. Stopped at a shop called hook line and sinker right on the highway basically at bella vista, cool shop good guys with current intel. They are sold out of zinkerz.
  20. Electric Shad was not on the shelf.
  21. I'm down in Arkansas right now and stopped at the Cabelas in Rogers to kill some time. While looking around I noticed that 2 of the pegs of swing impacts was empty. The tags didn't say what color was missing, I'm guessing the locals bought em up.
  22. Has anyone done any research on ramp locations? I know there is one right by the dam. Looks like the weather forcast is sunny and 5mph winds.
  23. I thought we were catching as many as possible to get in that 101 club?
  24. Tournament this weekend.
