  1. Lure advertising certainly affects what people buy. Their are many lures that are sold through infomercials, the banjo minnow, zip lure, bionic minnow, and many more. I used to buy some myself. Advertising actually affects more than what people think. If you notice a fishing product sold on t.v. or talked about at a seminar you are going to most likely buy that brand over another one thats not advetised.
  2. In a 2 day club tournament I took the lead day with a good distance. Day two came and all I had to do would be catch a limit of 14's. Throughout the day I ended up with four keepers, but had lost 4 other solid keepers. Unfortunately I got bumped down to third. Then at a BFL event on the non-boater side I was catching all my fish on eakin jigs and eakin craw trailers. After catching a couple good fish the boater used the same eakin jig, but different trailers and never caught a fish. With 2 hours remaning I ran out of the trailers and couldn't catch the fifth fish. I guess the fish only wanted the eakin trailer.
  3. I always use scents. Hardbaits and softbaits. Everytime I pull a lure out of the taklebox i dose it with a shot. The scent doesn't seem to help the fish bite, but helps once he grbas it to hold on longer. Currently I use BANG, but the spray will get all over the boat car or gear if you are not careful.
  4. Sometimes using a heavy slender jig or rigging a soft plastic with a big bullet weight and pitching the rig as high as you can up to let it gain alot of momentum to drive through the slop. Be ready for an instant strike though.
