  1. Some things that have really helped me out alot are.. 1) I read about techniques and learned how to fish both shallow and deep water with every technique. 2) I practiced casting so I could accurately put the bait where the fish are the first time.
  2. Like others have mentioned catching them out of yards after a rain is a good way to catch them. The hardest part is trying to figure out which yard these bugs are in. After a good rain either walk or ride a bike through town looking for the nightcrawlers in the street gutter, or crawling across the sidewalk. Once you find some, go ask the property owner if you can hunt nightcrawlers next time it rains.
  3. According to an article I read in Bass Times or Bassmaster bass will hang out with others that are close in size. So maybe you are only finding the schools full of small bass. Next time you catch a quality fish try working the area extra hard.
  4. With the win, Kevin Vandam is only $60,000 off from reaching the $2 million dollar mark with BASS and FLW tournaments combined.
  5. LOL, sounds good.
  6. I don't understand what you mean by the fish carrying him through the tournament. After the first 2 days the weights are blanked. So Kevin's 13 pound lead went away. BUT HE STILL CAME BACK TO WIN!
  7. Ya, to bad they didn't get it on tape when he actually caught the fish. Did I hear right when he said he caught the fish on spinning gear, what a fight?
  8. Here is a great article about the two fisherman! http://espn.go.com/outdoors/gad/s/b_fea_countdown2_clunn_and_martin.html
  9. I got one from Bass Pro Shops thats called "Kevin Vandam's Startegies for Changing Conditions". I thought the video was pretty good.
  10. Like Chris mentioned if you are in an area thats full of fish their is nothing wrong with fishing it slowly and milking more fish out of it.
  11. I would try some scum frogs, soft jerkbaits, buzzbait, weightless worms, or maybe a tube if the pond isn't to mossy.
  12. Try throwing a casting spoon through the wads of shad, but don't let the fish jump the spoon weighs enough to be easily thrown by a fish.
  13. ESPN 2 (Bass Saturday) -Bassmaster Tournaments -Bassmaster University -Schooled By Denny Brauer -Beat Charlie Moore Fox Sports Network (Sundays) -In-Fisherman -FLW tournaments
  14. The bassmaster and FLW tournament's are always fun to watch and bee able to see just how the pros are fishing. Then their is Bassmaster University which always gives lots of information and tricks. Schooled by Denny Brauer was great, but I haven't seen it on tv lately, he would always point out what anglers where doing that was right or wrong.
  15. Use braided line it will cut through vegetation easier, and since their won't be any stretch you can pull the fish right out.
  16. Ask them if they would like a break from the trolling motor.
  17. My casting, I am no longer scared to throw in thick stuff and when I do its a whole lot more accurate.
  18. Fishing the early morning or later in the evenings will open a bigger window of opportunity to catch the big fish. You should also try fishing some bigger lures (swimbaits, 10" worms, buzzbaits, topwater frogs, and jigs.) You can still catch big fish will smaller baits, but chances are greater when you throw the larger baits. Always be alert while fishing the larger baits since you will most likely catch fewer fish making it easy to not pay enough attention and lose a once in a lifetime fish.
  19. This is a good website for those photos http://www.terraserver.com/
  20. Like bassin4life said work the cover those fish will be holding close and tight to it. You may need to downsize your lures to get the fish to bite.
  21. Well since Kansas is basically in the middle of the United States it could be in Kansas.
  22. Bass Boss, a story of Ray Scott and how he started B.A.S.S..
  23. The article link posted by Rebbasser works great for getting the hook out of fish safely, I have used it many times.
  24. I agree with mudpuppy, the pumphouse would be good place to check for fish.
