  1. If you watched BassCenter it had a story of Gregg Hackney going into New Orleans and getting his father-in-law.
  2. Toss a jig or worm along the docks working the whole dock until you can locate the fish which might mean that the fish are sitting on the outermost right hand side of the dock. If you can skip the jig up under the docks where alot of anglers overlook or can't get to. Just another tip pay extra attention to the shaded side.
  3. I would try a drop shot and maybe a jerkbait, thats what they did at the Classic anyhow.
  4. Normally the Dam will hold fish all year long. Popular baits include jighead worm, senkos, and then some crankbaits. My favorite is the jighead and worm.
  5. From a co-angler point of view, the boaters that use hot foots usually have better rides than those who are trying to use their hand. Like others said very good piece of safety equipment.
  6. The new line of frogs would be good such as the YUM Buzz Frog and Zoom Horny Toad. Whatever soft plastic you decide to go with use some superglue to hold it up.
  7. Their are a few things I will try... 1) Downsize, just try to get some good bites and fish 2) Cover lots of water trying to pick up the active fish 3) Worst cast situation I pick up my favorite baits and start fishing
  8. Since I made the Kansas Bass Chapter Federation State Team I get extra deals on Lowrance products. I am looking to purchase one of the iFinder model GPS's, right now the iFinderPro or the iFinderH2O. Below is a link showing all the features. Any suggestions or comments? http://www.lowrance.com/ProductComparison/product_comparison.asp
  9. One advantage is that you can swim a jig through places you wouldn't dare a spinnerbait.
  10. How about Glenn: The Man
  11. I use nets when tourney fishing for most of my keeper fish especially when I have spinning tackle and 8 pound test. Even if the fish is close to minimum keeper size I will call net, I caught a partners fish when it fell off the hook halfway up the boat. Also when you have a fish hanging over a limb I like the net under him.
  12. Here you go BigDawgz http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/fish4.html
  13. Some spooks and poppers might be a good topwater lure during the low light conditions. If you decide to use spinnerbaits use the double willow's so that the bait will have lots of flash while moving quickly. Fishing some flukes can also pay off big. I also agree with all of the previous answers.
  14. I would of thought that the hatch would bring some better fishing if you would match the baitfish eating the hatch such as bluegill and crappie. Mayflies seem a little to small to consistently catch bigger fish on dinky baits trying to imitate them.
  15. Have you tried the white jig, its also deadly!
  16. Throwing spinnerbaits at schooling bass, I might not catch alot of monsters, but if I can catch 12" bass every other cast alright!
  17. Also the balsa wood crankbaits work good since they are bouyant enabling them to float quickly.
  18. A GPS would be great for marking the holes, that way other anglers can't discover your markers and you won't get lost.

Try some of the new frogs and fish them like a buzzbait across the grass. You will be able to cover alot of water and usually catch alot of fish. A tip for fishing frogs, every now and then let the frog rest on the grass clumps for a couple seconds before continuing the retrieve. Bass will look at the bait or catch up to it and then when it starts going again they kill it.
  20. Sounds like what I fish so heres what I do... 1) Fish any kind of moving water or current 2) Look for green weeds which will enrich the water with oxygen and help cool the water 3) Carolina rig deeper water feeling for brush or rockpiles 4) Fish topwater early and late 5) Throw little finesse worms 6) Fish shady sides of docks, or tree shadows
  21. I got all the worm pouring materials I needed from Del-Mart, Raul already posted the link.
  22. I agree with fivebasslimit you need to make sure your drag is set right especially with 8 pound test.
  23. Same here thats how I hold them. Anybody seen George Cochran hold his reels it seems he doesn't even have his hand on the reel much, but holds the rod under the reel? Or maybe thats just how he fishes a crankbait, gives the fish more time to eat the bait before he sets the hook.
  24. I never use the snaps, although it might provide more action I don't want an extra object in front of my bait. I do use swivels for c-rigs, some flukes, weightless worms, and some other baits that twist line but it is usually up the line 12 inches or more.
  25. Have you tried a texas rigged weightless senko. They fall slow and would probably lay on top of the nasty.
