  1. Santa brought a 6' ulf avid with a Sahara 500 and a 6'6" lf avid with a Sahara 1000. Both set ups balance very well. Can't wait for it to warm up so I can use them.
  2. Cabelas fish eagle spinning combo $30. First combo I picked up this last spring after not fishing for 15 years. Then I got hooked and the bait monkey got hold of me. Now, I just got a Calcutta D and LTB for swim baits. Didn't take long for fishing to get out of control. Ha.
  3. Nice. I got a bunch of bluegill, perch, crappie, and the occasional bass on 2 inch yellow mister twisters. Lot more bass and bigger with a 3 inch blue pearl s&p lunker grub. I've thrown mure traditional spinnerbaits a lot too, but the nettle spin seems to out produce them. Not sure if it's the size of the blade or what.
  4. Beetle spin with a grub. Most reliable bait this past season. Just started getting into fishing, so not a lot of experience. Hoping to expand my productive baits this year.
  5. +1 simple, strong and reliable.
  6. I decided I wanted to try swim baits more next year, so I ordered a LTB 7'10" swimbait rod, a Calcutta 301D, and a few swim baits. I was also disappointed that lucky craft, roman made and mega bass were excluded from the sale. Now I need to figure out what line to use on this rig.
  7. My wife and I just stared fishing regularly this year, and with the season winding down in Wisconsin, we decided to extend it a little bit with a trip to the Florida Keys next weekend. We booked a guide for two days who has a flats boat, bay boat and offshore boat, but we haven't decided what to target yet. This will also be our first time with a guide. Do you guys have any advice, tips or things we need to be aware of to make the most of the trip?
  8. I have a couple and have cought fish with them. They don't get used much because the feel isn't even close to my better rods.
  9. My wife and I just started getting into fishing this year. She was the one that suggested it and pushed to get a boat. It's been fun learning to fish together. We will even read online, watch shows and compare strategies together when we aren't on the water.
