  1. st. croix makes great rods.
  2. get them the sammy......or the pointer
  3. i've caught many on them this year. good luck next time.
  4. if you need new line then get the braid. new lures are nice but without the line you might have a hard time landing the fish.
  5. my top 3 color choices also. i have them in 78 and 100
  6. never had a bite on this thing
  7. i do the same thing.
  8. i have no favorite brand. the two that i use the most would be st. roix and kistler.
  9. i've had it for several months. nice, good quality bait that runs true.
  10. if you are considering the MG line then remember that salt will corrode magnesium. i know they are coated but that still didn't sit well with me. i fish tidal waters and was scared that over time salt would corrode my reel due to a scratch or any number of ways. so i went with the curado and absolutely love it. i am by no means a shimano fanboy. i have a quantum tour ed., quantum energy, pflueger pres., johnny morris sig. and numerous others. shimano did have a problem early on with some of the new models but so did other reel manufacturers. they have since been dealt with. they also didn't just up the price. it's a new reel. the old one would be more like new citica. i know i didn't offer much help as to which one to choose but thought i'd just give a little info.
  11. i like manns stone jig...
  12. i don't hate the others but i'll second the vote for the stone jig. i have 5 more on the way.
  13. too many things in life to juggle to go every day. job, house, wife, kids all take a good portion of my time. fridays are usually my fishing days and i'm out there for about 8 hours. in the summer i'll take my oldest boy whose 3 and go in the evening every now and again but that's just to a tiny neighborhood pond a couple of miles up the road.
  14. if you turn the handle with your right hand it's right retrieve.
  15. i do. when i'm done for the day the reels and rods get a wipe down and the drag is completely backed off of my reels. after that they go into rod socks and tucked away into my closet. that's just the way i do it.
  16. that's a good fishing day for warm weather. it's downright great for the dead of winter. i'.ve never had that kind of winter fishing days
  17. i was dumbfounded when i was asked that question. maybe it was almost time for her shift to be over.....
  18. thieves suck...5 years ago i walk down the steps at 5 in the morning open the front door to go outside and put my stuff in my car only to realize that somebody must have needed it more than me. well they found the car the next day. parts stripped off of the motor, rims and tires gone, cd player gone, a case with 100 cd's gone, the column was broken all to hell. the police don't care much about stolen cars either. at least that was the impression that i got. the officer asked me if i wanted a police report taken. it was a crappy situation.
  19. i voted shimano but i also love my quantum tour edition
  20. i have not been skunked 1 time this year. i caught 3 bass that were all 3 lbers. each(2 were close to 4) in 3 casts to the same brush pile. kind of weird with the 3, 3, 3.
  21. because they are found in almost every body of water all over the united states. tiny pods, large lakes, and rivers. i am never more than a few miles away from a place that i can throw my lure. the tactics for catching bass consistently are numerous. who flips a jig 6" from a stump for other species???? does anyone throw a 1oz sinker pegged to a worm into slop for any other species? not that i have heard of. these are just a couple of the reasons why. by the way......i disagree with some of the fish that you say fight harder. size wise maybe but not lb. for lb.
